  • Its a real shame AGCO didnt do a good enough job pushing these tractors. They had so much going for them and should have had more of a market share than they did. I love the styling on these tractors. Probably some of my favorite tractors.

    Just never see them in the fields much. No matter how great, management thinks their product is, the consumer will always make or break it.

    One helluva great Tractor….everything you need and nothing you don’t…no Add blue..DPF…sensors that monitor other sensors…satellite commands or whatever it’s called…none of this being shutout of doing any maintenance on the engine…even though you own it…(not mentioning any names here) …just a mighty fine tractor and thats all

    I was hoping that you got one a promo video of the 6100s at that sale. My grandpa and uncle bought a 6175 almost new after white used it for testing or something else not entirely sure what. I’ve had a quite a bit of seat time in it and they sure are a nice tractor to run. Even with it being almost 30 years old it doesn’t miss a beat and still hasn’t had any major problems.

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  Рік тому

      Probably a dealer demo tractor.

    • @danielschwartzhoff8290
      @danielschwartzhoff8290 Рік тому

      After talking with my dad more I believe it was agco that had it not a dealer demo because after a few years of them owning it white took it back and completely tore down the transmission and inspected everything. They didn’t do it because anything was wrong to my understanding just to see how everything was wearing and what needed improvement

      If I get one I’m getting front wheel assist. Don’t know why anybody would want a 2 wheel drive that new.

    A neighbor had a 6175, seemed to get along well with it. But imo they had a couple weak points from a marketing perspective. First, they were inevitably compared to a Magnum and in the cab area they were a step back. If they had had the cab that the 8000's came out with in '98 I think it would have been different. AGCO still uses that same basic design in the 7S Masseys. Second, the 6125 and 6145, had the 5.9 whereas the 7110 and 7220 had the 8.3. That to me was a huge oversight going all the way back to the 125 and 145. I agree they were and still are a very good looking tractor. To me if they had come out 5 years sooner it might have been different story.

      I got a 120 white with a 5.9 in it and it will run along with a 7120 anyday

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  Рік тому

      5.9 is going to be a lot easier on fuel to. 504 cubes in an 8.3 is a lot of wasted engine to only be making 130 horse. Don’t really get how the cab is a step back either. Control layout is very similar and the seat mounted console is more convenient. Visibility is way better in all 4 directions. Especially out the back because the Magnums had a really short back glass because of how they mounted the AC condenser and cab air filter. Corner door with platform steps is easer to get in and out of then the side door and steps on the Magnum. I’ve been in both and I like boxcar magnums but the 6000s still had the better cab.

    Great info on what those were its just a shame i never seen any out in the country these days . It shows how agco really tried to be a player with the Deere Funk trans which New Holland used it as a 16 x 9 version for the genesis . Funny thing is in the 1970-80s IH handed Specs to Deere to develop Power Shift trans for IH to use in the New Farmall (Magnum). But Deere Had built the trans so Heavy and Well to the IH specs it wouldn't have been cost effective for them to do a Joint Venture for

      @Fordfarmer9700 Рік тому

      Funny part to that story and from what I've heard is NH had started developing that transmission under contract with funk for the genesis which made JD nervous so they decided to buy funk out and put an end to it but that contract got in the way of them doing so. Weather that's entirely true or not I couldn't say but I've heard it quite a few times.

      @@Fordfarmer9700 Very Interesting i hear the same story from Agco. there is a video of Ratliff stating Agco-Funk Trans that was a Joint Venture. As for the IH Deal it was well before Deere Acquired Funk. The IH Program was for 3 different trans. Of which 1 was the STS in 88 series and the other 2 was powershift, CVT.. At the time i think IH had watched Deere with the 8 , 15 Spd powershift. Back when everyone worked together no matter the color.
