Hi, Kristen. This is a little thing, but I wanted to share it, nevertheless. If you light the wick on your new candles, and then immediately blow them out, the wick will be blackened and not look like you just put a new candle in the holder. This came to mind when you showed the new ivory candles in the wood and brass wall sconces. Like I said, a little thing, but kinda big impact for authenticity. Love your channel!
Leave the candle holders black. I thought they looked great when you were showing them with your dining room fixture.
I agree, Mary Jo!
Yes the wall sconces are beautiful in black. I’ve heard we should have a touch of black in every room 🤗💕. Really great finds ☺️
I agree, Gina!
Leave the candle holders black. It's a base color that works with any kind of decor/color theme. That huge crock is absolutely beautiful!🎉
Loved your haul, keep the candle holders black, have a blessed week.
Loved the haul and my favorite were the vintage prints.Such a great collection ❤
I love seeing children’s thrifted items, clothes, toys, books, art, items for decorating the nursery or older kids rooms, please give me all the inspo for my kiddos!
You got it, Sarah!
Great haul! Love the big crock. I would leave the candle holders black for a while and see how you like them.
I love the wall sconces and the covered bridge picture, such nice found treasures. The baby cradle will be a very loved gift
That doll cradle is gorgeous! $8 is a steal.
The picture IS precious! I love the children goin a fishin and the cute kitten. Great find Kristen!
I get so excited when I see your videos come up! ❤️ love the prints and I think you should keep candle holders black.
Love seeing what you find in your thrifting adventures. How sweet of Josh to give you an afternoon to yourself!
He is the sweetest!
I'm so glad you got the picture of the bridge! It's so beautiful!
Thrift hauls are the best! 🙌🏽 You found some good ones this time. So the slanted baskets… not sure what they’re supposed to be used for, but I have them in our fridge for fruits. They’re easily accessible for my littlest.
The candle holders look very sophisticated painted black. Sometimes black can be used to “anchor” a room or a space, and help break up some of the wood tones or brass. It adds a nice, unexpected contrast.
Your home is so lovely, Kristen. You have such a detailed eye for adding these wonderful thrifted items into your decor in a way that looks effortless and inviting.
I agree about black anchoring a space!
You're a breath of fresh air, Kristen--and my new favorite! I'm looking forward to following you. 🙂
Thank you for being here, Pam!
How sweet and thoughtful of Josh to bless you with a day to yourself doing what you love! I have used old non-working alarm clocks by setting them to a memorable time such as the birth times of your girls, or month and day of births and/ or wedding dates. Love the cradle for Ivy’s birthday. It would also make a great decor piece later for plants, magazines, afghans etc. Keep the videos coming, love them all! ❤️
Thank you so much, Candy!
My favorite part of this is the plastic tag fob sticking out of the shirt you are wearing....LOVE that I am not the only one who does that LOL
Lol, WHOOOPS!
Rub and buff in antique gold for the candle holders! It will be a pretty worn brass!
I have a larger version of the angled basket in my bathroom and I use it for rolled up towels! The size you found would be great for kids toys!
Hi Kristen..loved it all but the those bunny and fix prints ❤❤❤..frame them for sure…the crock is a great find. Hope you have a great blessed week.
Thank you, Rita!
Hi Kristin. You found some really nice items. My favorite piece is the crockery😊
Little cribs are good for baby dolls. I’m glad your husband gave you an afternoon to go shop and not rush back. The crock you bought was a fantastic buy. They are usually expensive. I love the black candle holders. Keep them black.
It was such a treat!
Thank you for another powerfully uplifting video, Kristin! My heart smiled when you held up the absolutely beautiful little piece that you mentioned Rosie wants for her corn husk doll collection! She has a ‘gifted eye’ as does her Mama! It’s a precious moment whenever I hear you compliment your daughters. The candlestick holders? ~ Love them! You know what’s best! I like them black… especially in your home! You are gifted in so many ways & one is the gift of making a house into a loving home in every way that matters; a home in which every square inch is a hug to the core! Thank you for what you are teaching! Blessing, you are! 💐
What a sweet and encouraging comment. Thank you, Nancy!
I love when you share the kids clothing thrift hauls! Prob because i have 4 kiddos.. and i love thrifting and we are on one income.
Sweet Rosie should star in a video showing her decore ideas and talking through what she looks for in thrift stores❤
She loves it as much as I do!
I love the black candle holders so pretty. Everything you got is so beautiful!
Great haul!! So many amazing pieces!! I think the black candle holders look great as is!
The covered bridge print is so beautiful! Ivy is going to love her birthday cradle. I did the same thing for my granddaughter and thrifted a little baby blanket, made a simple little padded covering for the bottom and a tiny pillow. I'm sure that was her favorite gift!
How cute!
No way…$15 for that HUGE CROCK!!!😳😮
That’s so…AWESOME!!!
You found a lot…of FUN items!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!❤😊😄😁🥰
It was a steal, Rosie!
Love the prints! First print with the mouse has the plant in back ground, Jack In The Pulpit, my favorite!
So cool!
The crib with the wheels on it would have been lovely on a porch with plants in it 🤩
Love the mismatched frames for the prints, much more interesting than matched. Keep the holders black, in the decorator world, a little black in each space grounds it. Solid cradle is worth it at that price.
Love your content, thank you for the updated “showcase”.
Kristen... that haul share was so fun! Thank you. I'd keep the sconces black and they would be so lovely above your fireplace. God bless you and your beautiful family.
Thank you, Colleen!
The "angle baskets" are typically used to store and display produce but you could use them for literally any storage or display need such as pantry items, markers, yarn balls, cosmetics, entry way drop zone items...whatever you can imagine!
Thank you!
Kristen, I would keep the candleholders black because they match your chandelier. I like items that look like they are hand forged iron that is a very early American look. Also, that baby bed is precious! It looks like someone hand made that with love.
I agree, Amanda!
I laughed when you said you didn’t know how to use the oil lamp. It’s called you tube girl😅. LOL
Leave the candle sconces black and hang them over the fireplace both on the right side (vertically) beside picture and find a wall pocket for the other side to put florals in. That would truly make that wall "pop". Love your hail
I LOVE THAT Picture and frame.
loooooving those dark candle sconces over the fireplace
Lovely!! Such great finds. Hope you and your family are well. 💕
So pleased you took the covered bridge home!
Love the covered bridge picture, when I was younger I would go to places to find covered bridges. There are many in Pennsylvania. Barb
Use citristrip if you decide ti strip them! I have the same sconces in brass and love them so much.
I love the first little print you showed. The plant in it is a Jack in the pulpit or Indian turnip. I live in Minnesota and we have them all over the place here. It is an edible plant (the tubers) but only after it is dried. It is poisonous before that. It is spicy when dried and eaten like chips.
Loving the black candleholders and those precious prints. ❤
That little crib with the wheels would be great to put plants in
I stinking love that painting we have nothing like that here great stuff you wracked up whooo hoo
I love that covered bridge picture. ♥️
I like everything you found and they prices were good. The doll cradle is so cute! I know Ivy will be excited to get it.
She will be so happy!
I vote candle holders black and paint the frame on your floral picture black for a more cohesive look. Great haul.
,ove about cute things, especially last Hugh painting. Worth every penny
I love the dolls bed and the massive painting. They are beautiful. Keep going. Thank you for sharing your finds ! 😊
Thank you for being here, Grace!
LOVE the bridge print!!
I always thought the angle baskets were for stairs. 🤷🏻♀️LOVE that crock. The sconces look nice black. And they look great above your fireplace. ❤️
Couldn't wait to watch this part 2 of thrift haul you are so fun!! and cheerful and you just make my day! Thank you! ❤️
I'm embarrassed that it got pushed out as far as it did!
I'm so glad you got that covered bridge picture. It's beautiful
Thank you, Scarlet!
❤love seeing the cutest most adorable things you find❤
You did good on that haul. Everything is great.
Another great haul! I like the candleholders black 🖤
$14 for the crock is an unbelievably good price. I absolutely love the baby cradle, its gorgeous.❤
The black candle sconces will look wonderful above the fireplace mantle!!
This Mama loves the kids clothes hauls😊! The vintage style you dress your girls in is beautiful!
Thank you, Kelsey!
Kristen, please take care of yourself. Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family. Love seeing your videos and so enjoy hearing your laugh! Diane
Happy holidays!
Love, love the covered bridge painting. So glad you brought it home. And those sweet animal prints are sooo cute! I don't mind seeing kids clothes. You always find cute ones. That was fun.
Thank you, Carol!
I love everything you got. I would keep the candle holders black.
Loved all that you purchased the frames are better when they don’t match. Good price on them and a pretty color. Leave the candle holders black looks pretty. And the print of the red bridge is awesome, it’s a statement piece. ❤
Thank you, Christina!
the salty crust on the bottom of the crock is probably brine from sauerkraut or pickles.... you might be able to clean it out....the picture is beautiful...I love that your girls are developing your love for thrift and 2nd hand...I have used colored pencils to :shade" pictures I have bought from thrift stores that were yellowed or faded, works like a charm, just use a light hand, you can always go over it if it isn;t dark enough for your taste,,,,
Ooh. Good idea, Robin!
Yes it is very important to be safe...❤❤❤❤and your doing amazing...I respect you as a UA-camr ,,
Thank you so much, Eunyce!
Also, I love the bridge painting.
Great price for the baby bed. It's wood and solid. Prints were very nice also.
Just found your channel. I love when people do kids thrift hauls thats where i get the majority of my kids clothes from.
I'll keep that in mind!
Such great finds! I have a covered bridge print in my sons room! It’s a good bit smaller and a little bit brighter colors. I love it!
I like the black candle holders
Yes change the candle holders on mantel.
Vintage landscape ❤
I love your videos -- and all of your amazing finds!!!
Those lantern holders or sconces are from Hobby lobby, and I don’t know if you can get the paint off really good but I do know that if you use Traditional All In One Paint or Robin buff and like a champagne brassy color you will get that look and just have a little bit of black to take a napkin touch of it and go around some of the places because you don’t want to sell gold and you can even control the gold with your finger tip, and it lasts forever! You can get mini projects done ! God bless and love you since I found you I just respect what you’re doing with your family. I’m no Nana but I tell my kids to please be more intentional with their finances because they make such big money at work that they think it’ll last forever lol with three little grandbabies I don’t think that’ll work out happy Mother’s Day, and may your life and family always be blessed as you are, a wonderful girl and I like your advice if I can help in anyway I’ll post happy Mother’s Day. God bless sincerely Gerridag
Love them black! Goes great with early American!
I agree, Marci!
@@KristenHoffman Kristen I’m originally from Omaha (I live in Kansas City now) and I was up there this weekend visiting my aunt. We went to the Omaha bins and I was like “I hope we run into Kristen” my aunt is like who’s that? Oh she’s just my UA-cam friend but she doesn’t know me or know we are friends hahaha.
Love your style! And thrifting videos. Have you done a video on how you decorate? How you go about figuring out where/how to put things up on walls? Or any other decorating tips. You have a knack for it and I’m wanting to make my home more that style. Would love some help!
I use the angle basket for books or magazines but they can also be used for wash clothes and hand towels or produce
I like the black candle sconces they matter dining room light but if you decide to strip them sit them outside and spray them with Easy-Off oven cleaner for about an hour and then just rinse them off
That HUGE portrait is of one of the most AMAZING bridges in Vermont. I LUV VERMONT and I am not finished watching this video. I so hope you got it!!!
Yay you got it!!!! Great minds think alike! xo
I lived in Vermont for ten years in the eighties,(Ludlow and Bennington) please tell me where this is.🥰
$8 for Frye boots!! At Canadian thrift stores they'd want at least $50 for them 🤪. It was kind of heartbreaking to see that special Victorian shadow box at the thrift store. Someone's family history is in there. I'm one of those people that want to save all that stuff even though I have no clue who the people are lol
I know! I hated leaving it behind, but didn't really have a use for it.
Great thrift haul! I really love those paintings! 👍
If you do decide to take off the black paint on candle holders, try just putting them in simmering water until paint comes off. Did this with brass drawer pulls.
Interesting!
I really like the candle holders black 🇬🇧🇺🇸🌸🌸
I used to collect Boyd’s bears in the 90’s. Wish I’d kept them. I also love Victorian photos. I definitely would have picked up that frame with those photos.
I am so sorry beyond words of what happened to Reese. I am soo thankful u did not see it when it did, you were turned the other way. So happy u have a new pup that seems so sweet😔😢❤️hugs
Thank you so much!
i like the black candle holders better! regards from argentina
the oil painting is nice! 15 bucks is still reasonable!
I love the two prints you scored! Also like the sconces in the black tones. Fun to watch!
Thank you, Rhonda!
The black looks great with your wall color.
I would have totally purchased the shadow box and taken all of the stuff out to display! 🤓
I know you would have!!!
Leave the candleholders black. Love the giant barn picture.
I love the candle holders in black!
I'm definitely here for the antiques. 💪🏼 we lost a baby recently and are trying to conceive. UA-cam is like my escape.
My heart goes out to you, Jessica. Praying for you in this moment right now.
I like what ever you find ,kid adult, decor
Thank you, Gloria!
Beautiful family and beautiful home 🇬🇧🇺🇸🌸🌸
So cool. We had that same exact baby bed when we were kids. I am in my 60s. My parents were from Omaha and I think they got it there. Nice haul
Very cool, Karen!
I love the covered bridge picture. You got some lovely finds.
I liked it too, Jeanie!
