Fig Variety Review: Boysenberry Blush (10/15/21 Revision)

Boysenberry Blush is a new fig variety that was discovered recently in California and has received a lot of great reviews from growers in California. I was very excited to try this variety here in Northern Virginia, but unfortunately I haven't had great results this year. There are reports from some other growers outside of California about the fig having a great taste, but for me personally, I had some trouble ripening the fig consistently and getting a good taste. It may improve with age though, as there is still limited information about this fig from outside California.

Just wondering how big are your pots? The widht and height? And how often do you root prune?

5 gallon squat containers. I usually prune annually unless I am uppotting to a larger size

What are your best split resistant varieties?

Hi, I’ll put out a video later on top 10 or something. I have DSJG already-it’s one of a few that I am still waiting on for fruit. Also, I’m moving in the spring so I’m not doing a lot of trades like I normally would. I’ll be selling cuttings in dec though if you are interested
