Offshore oil refineries IRL always require maintenance and access by ship. The lagoon behind the spit is has the perfect shelter and could definitely become some sort of harbour maybe even with a helipad to take the workers to the rigs!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Great minds think alike! With my build along, I've already added the Helicopter Fire Station in front of the Oil Industry workers housing. I jutted it out into the water and quayed it. Seemed like the "Egg" thing to do :). And, right on queue, within minutes of placing it, the oil rig right next to it caught on fire (the portion on the land) and I got to watch the helicopter put it out. If I happen to see it on fire again, I'll have to double check to see if the part in the water also catches fire. Didn't even think to look.
Egg! Great build! For that lagoon you could turn it into a constructed wetlands. I’d imagine it’ll be very polluted and this would be something that the local government would probably force the refinery to build to help protect the environment. There’s lots of examples in the southern US, especially Florida and near urban areas like Oklahoma City’s scissortail park. Search “constructed/artificial wetlands”, it looks like a series of small dams usually
Great build! I really like the small ore mine as part of the complex. You could imagine the refinery owners opening a very small mine for what they need. The technical university is a great idea. I noticed there is also fertile land nearby, it could serve as a border to the university and the initial town. In order to appease environmentalists the town agreed not to encroach on the farms. It would make for some interesting lore
It would be cool to have the university campus mainly on paths and tram only roads as it gives an excuse to run the tram line in that direction, maybe to then have an interchange with the trolleybuses and/or future metro.
Hi Egg great video as always I have a suggestion. Make a special highway and connect it with the international main highway only for the oil area, no one want to see the oil trucks moving around his beautiful city so this is will be perfect to keep the traffic low and sperate the industrial route from the normal route
Great suggestion. I'm doing a build along, and I found a lot of the oil trucks weaving their way around residential neighborhoods, making their way to the main highway. As a temporary "fix", I did add a fast connector road from the oil industry to the highway on that end of the build. Working like a charm so far!
Great build! Love the change of pace with the Oil Industry being the anchor for the starting community, as opposed to farming or forestry. The town is really starting to take on some personality.
i like how this town turned from peaceful friendly neighborhood with lots of trees and great views on the river into an oil refinery focused industry giant so realistic 😍😍 btw that industry might use some pedestrian overpasses for workers to the neighborhood. could be quite usefull to unload pedestrian traffict from crossings to a busy intersection also, little idea about detailing for that little bay into industry, what if the oil refinery uses it to dump waste and this is why seemingly "swampy" area became literally flooded, creating a literally bay this could work better with one or two sewage pipes dumping it directly into the water and having some floating water purifiers or whatever they called to make sure only that part is dirty
For the guy who has combined a nature reserve with an oil field and nightlife with gen industry I think combing oil and ore is the least daring move 😂 down the road you might be able to really get those 2 types to mesh. Really loving this city. PS- MOOR PP's 😬
As a tip when you want to center a building (the one you already recommend in the previous episodes) is to still lock to angle to you are certain that the building is perfectly parallel to the road. i saw you were just eyeballing it.
So excited to see a new CS1 city from you in 2024, Egg! Fantastic stuff, as always. You've even inspired me to start my own channel. Cities 1 still has a ton of life left, if you ask me.
Great episode Mr egg! The oil area turned out fantastic! It's a shame you can't change the cargo harbor ship type cause having the inlet being used as a oil offload and onload would look amazing with oil barges coming and going!!!!
Absolute gem of a episode, liked the video before I even started watching. So here for the vanilla+ city as a console player, I get so inspired by your builds!
Well oil be damned that was a good episode I shall drill down into it more later while I build along I shall extract some entertainment from it I wager Looking forward to rigging up my industry Etc
Maybe a tough ask for you, Egg: If I have the money to buy CS2 (with my PC just falling short of the recommended specs), would you say that money is better spent on CS2, or CS1 DLC? I don't know if I really want to do either tbh lol; but I'd like to hear what you'd say
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Damn, normally games can be run on lower settings to get respectable fps if you're just below recommended specs (not below min specs, to be clear). How the heck is their min spec a i7-6700K or Ryzen 5 2600X, and GTX 970. The gap between that, and the recommended specs is staggering.

Excellent suggestions! love the Helipad idea!
Adding fire helicopter might be nice addition

There's something about a CS1 vanilla build. You can't beat it.

Almost 100 000 subs, you deserve even more ❤
Thank you mate, appreciate that support :)
I need this series in my life twice a week
Up vote for twice a week!
The is one FIIIIINE oil refinery! 🤩 Still can't believe this amazing build is named after me. So honoured!

I love how this industry area came together.

I’d definitely keep the small ore mine there, it fits it pretty well!
I got a good laugh out of the BP joke. Great episode egg! Loving the new city. 8:08

The offshore oil drills remind me a lot of the one in Haugsund, Norway. Especially for the size of that town being very similar to Sherri
Combined specialized industry!! Lets go!!!!
Outstanding job once again. Can't wait to add it to my play-along build.
those green dlc houses are more than enough to offset the oil industry.😇 Loving the build.
This content is incredibly enjoyable and relaxing... I cannot resist watch your videos lol I love them
Thanks, glad to heat that. Appreciate the kind words :)

Another great build, looking forward to seeing the next episode, tram line extension, subway, uni etc 😃

It is great to see you start a new CS1 build!
this english sense of humor, i love it... "this video is sponsered by BP" :D

Wouldn't it just! Perhaps a mock ferry line? Could work...
@OVERCHARGEDEGG yes it would! That could work....
As the lore for Rannich, I feel all the power plants need to be Oil Plants. At Least fro Sherri

Again, a great build and detailing was perfect!! I'm excited to see more!! Looks very cool!!🤩😎
Waiting a whole week❤
I'm so glad you started this I'm loving it so much ❤❤❤❤
Will look forward to you rewatching it in 2 years time Clare lol!
@OVERCHARGEDEGG lol you know it 😜
Very good, I would have liked to have seen an administrative building placed somewhere within the refinery
As watching I was all... move that water tower!! 😂
Nice build. I love my Eggy Mondays.❤
We got there in the end lol
I really love your vanilla builds. They look great!
Thank you, friend!
Lovely work egg 👌🏽
I know I'm not a Patreon but I really wish you could name the little Ore are - Orr's Ore and more 👼
Hello Egg, great oil industry, good job
So good to see CS1 content.
Baldur's Gate has Owlbears, CS could have Oilbears.
The "sponsored by BP" comment killed me 🤣🤣
...
And all the fish
I liked techvinyl along the road 😮
Mondays cannot get better
8:09 sponsored by BP 😭😭😭
But drilled by OE, so dont worry. 😁
I love your builds
I noticed during your build that you don't always put down power lines. Is there a mod that enables you to build without them? Thank you!
Can you make two episodes a week, please?
I don't really have the time whilst also recording and editing my other two series. Only so many hours in the day unfortunately
BP's legal team would like a word in regard to profit-sharing from this facility.
For the campus ground I already have a name in mind for it and that is Wolf Creek University

If you're short of the spec you'll struggle to run it. Stick your cash into cs1 dlc u til cs2 optimization improves

How do you turn on unlimited oil? I have a mod, but it doesn't do anything.
Content manager, it's an in built option for the game
I appreciate that youre doing a CS1 series, I really really dislike CS2, its a horrendous game.
What’s the mod to avoid your trees looking dead around industry?
Meanwhile there's me, Mr DLCless, thinking about trying to make a somewhat realistic oil industry with base game props and like two mods 😂
The are named pump jacks.
❤❤❤
Prepare to Tank Farm
Hi All
Hey Ronin
You should name the district Rannoch National Oil Fields and the industry area Rannoch National Oil Refinery
no way im the first comment
like if you prefer CS1
hate the cs2 style of graphics and lighting of the game, cs1 graphics style and lighting makes it more realistic than cs2
With the new economy update and all the mods and new buildings CS2 is finally becoming a great game
All CS2 has going for it is the road tools 🤷🏾♂️
I hate the look. I tried it for a while and even tried to watch the videos. Even with the updated I just hate it.
I actually do
Please don’t make us wait a week for more
Vanilla is every Monday, I have other series to work on in the week
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG 🥲
Bro forgot the node limit in CS1
Hey Egg, I love this map and how you transform it with this wonderful city so far 🫶 can't wait to see the next episode 👍
