HOT TIP: Your Starlink RV will have the 'snow melt' feature turned on as default. Unless you're in the Snowies or Tassy in Winter it's unlikely you'll need this 😂 so turn it off (using the Starlink app) as its a big power draw. Watch the vid for more useful info, and leave us a comment if you have any questions whatsoever! Cheers 🤙

Hello, did you ever thought about a DC POE injector for Starlink Dishy to reduce power consumption? Just Friendly advice from another side of the world :). It might be a little bit hassle, but it might be a good long-term setup.

Hello, we haven't as yet as we're looking at selling our van this year BUT on our next vehicle (whatever that might be) we'll be customising everything to ensure its fit for our lifestyle so will be looking at ways to reduce the power draw of Starlink 👍

    Hey All,
I’m not sure that any one has stated this but Starlink is still $450 and this is in US dollars not Australian so it works out around $700ish depending on the exchange rate. Love all the vids explaining. Thanks guy for all your info it has been soooo helpful. Safe travels.

Great point! I didn't even know that!! That makes me feel better about having to pay the previous price, as I thought they had dropped it to less than half.
      Cheers,D

Wow! What an in depth analysis of satellite internet infrastructure that was ! I'm definitely not getting star link until some of these issues that you've addressed are resolved. Thank you so much for the info.

Great. Pumped that you found it useful! Whilst Starlink has its flaws, we still feel it’s the best out there and depending on what you need it for, not everyone would find things like the upload speed or 240v plug an issue. Although a 12v option without needing to convert it yourself would be epic 😁✌️

Thanks @OrionAdventures comments like these make it all worthwhile! It was a big learning curve for me to make a video like this, as it's the first fully informative/researched one we have done.
      Cheers, D

Spacex are upgrading the satellites with version 2 (3rd generation) with 4 times the power. They will constantly update and refresh the satellites with new technology. By the way everyone else is way behind and fiddling with a first version while spacex is already on their 3rd generation.

Not wanting to make his head swell, but something is agreeing with your boy Sophie. He's looking younger. Did you give him a facial before shooting? Must be the freedom of the road... D 😍😍

Hahaha well, it's probably the fact that I was living in my own personal sauna while trying to film the video; it must have been good for my skin 🤣

cost change: The Starlink monthly service for residential customers is changing as follows:
$10 increase in areas with limited capacity. New price will be $120/month.
$20 decrease in areas with excess capacity. New price will be $90/month.
As a current customer in an area with limited capacity, your monthly service price will increase to $120/month beginning April 24, 2023. For new customers in your area, the price increase is effective immediately.
If you do not wish to continue service, you can cancel at any time on your account page. Your Starlink hardware can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of purchase, or a partial refund of $250 within 12 months of purchase.
As the SpaceX team launches more satellites to increase capacity, the Starlink team is making continuous network updates to improve performance over time. Thanks for being a customer and for your continued support of Starlink!

Do not buy Starlink. My Service was down for three months. The problem was with their settings in house, and they could not correct it. They also continued to bill me for the months they could not provide service. They are even continuing to bill me, even thought I sent my equipment back to them weeks ago. --- Fair Warning: If your Starlink service goes down, you may be in for one helluva ride. All in all, I paid Starlink over $1400 dollars and I received service for only about 4 months.

Wow! It seems like you birthed satcom. These systems have been around for over two decades (before climate change!). I'm seeing a 30 - 50% drop in intelligence of anyone commenting on the matter despite the technology being vastly improved. Consider that more might make more people stupid.
