30k is crazy. My Ryker Rally is so similar and only cost 12k. If it was all wheel drive maybe but it isnt. I love the look though. I added all these upgrades on my ryker for about 1K.
I just paid off my Spyder FS-3 in 2021 and then just bought a CFMOTO 1000 overland out the door with extended warranty for $14.5K. Best of both worlds.
I suppose they didn’t see Ari and Zack try to take one off-road and failing so much. Having said that, I like riding my mother in laws spider at times.
I have the RT Limited. I might give that to the wife and get this one for me( I see a retirement gift in my future!)The look is just cool. Love it. Home run!!
I think this is awesome that Can-Am made this. However, the fenders are too close for off-roading. In mucky stuff like mud, those fenders are going to become clogged. The wheels could be smaller to allow for more tire wall, which is what you want to help with cushioning bumps off-road. Also, make a 3-WD version. Can-Am has done what no other reverse trike company has done. This is a start for those looking got overlanding and off-road capability. Don't stop here. The things I mentioned are a must if you want those of use who do go off-roading on 4-wheels or 2-wheels to be come part of your market.
Basically an oversized Ryker Rally with a Spyder drive system. Can -Am really should have put their effort into improving the Spyder range with extra ground clearance and a full belt guard for them. They make a lot of the added storage capabilities but have removed one of the attractions of the Spyders, the frunk. As for Apple car play on the display not much use if you are out on a trail with poor or no phone signal, also not everyone is an Apple fan boy, the majority of phones are Android.
Looks awesome, this is a great alternative for those who like the comfort of a large displacement adventure bike but here you no longer have to worry about dropping and picking up the bike Way to go, Can-Am 👍
I could see myself considering one of these in the future maybe, when I get to the point I can't ride two wheel touring bikes anymore but still want to ride.
When I see it on a BDR route, I'll be impressed. Does look good for paved smooth dirt secondary roads adventure riding, not sure about actual dirt roads.
If I wasn't poor I would already have a preorder in, I love it. This from someone who works for a Harley-Davidson dealer. Can't wait to see who the first person is who takes one of these up the Dalton or Dempster Highways. Better yet do both back to back.
They already tried to take a Can Am offroad and the single, centered back tire was its Achilles heal. Since offroad trails that are not flat tend to wash out in the middle, it leaves this bike in trouble since there is nowhere to properly place it on a dual track trail. It gets even worse with off camber and narrow trails. Even flat offroad trails tend to have large rocks down the center.
@@terrarecon exactly, that's the entire problem. Just think about the back tire and the 4wd trails you have been on for a minute and you'll arrive at the issue.
As my second comment here. This seems to be a brilliant idea/concept (whether it's implemented "right" remains to be seen - proven). I ride motorcycles and can handle a bike on normal roads and simple gravel roads fine, but when it comes to more technical stuff I'm out of my depth. I like to explore roads and tracks, though, but don't dare to do it on heavier bikes (heavier for me). I would dare to do it on something like the new Honda Trail 125, but that has other limitations including comfort for a tall person, and the ability to keep up with fast moving traffic. So a machine that offers great comfort, can take all the stuff including the kitchen sink, can go easily any speed, and one doesn't need to worry about wiping out is of an immense benefit. I can focus more on the landscape (which is why I ride in the first place). Yes, there is the issue of price and dealer/service availability.
Interesting addition indeed, it seems very enticing. I have been shopping around for a future motorcycle upgrade and I like the idea of all of the possibilities for storage even if I wouldn't do full-blown off-road rides with it. All of the storage cases would be a big plus for taking quick trips to the grocery store instead of having to use my truck. They'd also help for keeping supplies while doing hours of riding. Looks like I'll have to add this one to the list as well. :)
Sounds like this could be the perfect fit for your needs! The extra storage is super handy for everything from grocery runs to long rides. Glad to hear it’s on your list 😎
This looks like a great retirement gift for myself in about 15 years when I get sick of picking up my ADV bike. Maybe by then all the kinks will be worked out and it will be all wheel drive, shaft driven, a strong mounting point for a winch and fenders that aren't going to plug up with mud instantly.
I like it..we were talking about this bike tonight at our can am club meeting here in Sacramento...I dig it..very interesting..apparently the can am version of a pan America or multistrada..real neat..the only issue..even w a belt guard..rocks n shit gettin in there..we'll see

That thing is going to handle like a squirrel on crack the second you try to take it down a rutted piece of four-wheeler double track. The rear wheel will be constantly falling off the crown and into the ruts on either side of it. Should be okay for dirt roads I suppose.
This thing is going nowhere on any real offroad. You try passing protruding stone between front wheels and hit it with the rear one. Rain makes road slippery and muddy? You are screwed with that 1 wheel drive.
Nicely innovative modular system, no reason that system couldn’t be applied to you regular Spyder’s and on motorcycles in general really, it’s a niche market but it could prove to popular. I’d like to know how you reconcile gravel roads with belt drives, it seems a little like tempting fate to me.

Do you have the possibility to add a winch on it with sand anchor, winter tires and off-road lights? We have one on a quad. Have they add some hooks to move the machine on the side with a cable and some protection against upside-down.
Hi, thanks for your question. The Can-Am Canyon is an Adventure style 3-wheel vehicle meant for long adventure on any type of road from paved to unpaved roads but is not intended for off-road use. We do not offer off-road accessories such as off-road lights and winch on the Can-Am Canyon since the vehicle is meant for road usage only. A canyon x mr lol
And full automatic. On this and the Spyder limited.
3WD, mud tires and adjustable ride height would make this interesting not additional tech and connectivity

The additional tech allows you to use a overlanding GPS app - find a really remote fishing spot. I almost want a winch option.
