If Justin went out an airlock his blood would boil and he would begin to freeze. And at the end Miller and the back of the ship went in the black hole.

Smoking in a spaceship is fine. The air scrubbers will take care of it. It's a time honored thing since Alien. And a lot of the things happening at the start of this movie are inspired by Aliens. Both excellent movies. CD's (or strictly, CD shaped optical media) are excellent recording media, which handle radiation and vacuum well. They remain a good choice, and new ones in development can store immense amounts of data. It makes sense they would have those on a spaceship. Spikes are commonly used to lead away RF, such as radio waves and electric arcs. In this case the core uses a lot of power, and the spikes are likely there to lead off any power bleed. The vacuum damage effects are overblown, as always in movies. Not completely nuts, but overblown. They recorded a lot of MUCH worse video for the found footage in the ship, as well as more gore. Paramount ordered him to cut the film by 30 minutes and tone down some of the violence. Anderson has said he didn't have enough time for a proper re-edit, and believes he cut out 10 minutes too much. Although it was announced in 2012 that producer Lloyd Levin had found a VHS tape that might contain a full version of the film, Anderson revealed in 2017 that neither he nor Levin had seen it yet, as they have both been too busy to be in the same country with a VHS player. Although he believes that the condition of the copy will be too poor to use, Anderson has stated that he is still excited to see what's on it." lots of other interesting trivia about it on imdb ;D
@@totallywhatever So, much of the cut stuff was extended parts of the already pretty intense scenes showing more of the gore etc. But the big one that was cut was more of the video of them in the hell dimension that they showed for like 5 seconds maybe (with the torture and eyeballs in the hand thing) - apparently it was much longer and very sexually violent etc. the producers were very worried they'd get an X rating for that scene alone and is the main reason (other than the original length of the film itself) they asked Anderson to cut down so much.

This movie is a cult classic, especially among many from the Warhammer 40.000 fandom. It's inspired by the lore of the game and is widely accepted among fans as an unofficial warhammer movie.
It's a fun movie that might've been less uneven in quality had it not been forced to be cut up on short notice towards the end of production. Even ignoring all the gory bits that were cut, there was likely other relevant things cut out too and more of the, in my opinion, unnecessary comedy added. Some of the comedy was not superfluous but other bits felt out of place.
@@totallywhatever Some of the scenes make me wonder if it was done as reshoots and added purely because they needed to get more runtime because they got rid of so much or what. In any case it's a fun watch and seeing you react to it was great fun!
Good reaction. I'm really sad we'll never get to see the uncut version. Probably for the better though, gauging the flashes of their time in hell that you get shown. Explosive decompression is no joke. Pretty sure the only inaccuracy is that he survived that ordeal. I looked it up a year or so ago after rewatching this movie for the 100th or so time. I think it said something along the lines of 'you'd be conscious for 20-30 seconds. Then dead within 2 minutes.' Not a fun way to go.
Thank you! It is sad - the uncut version must be wild. We would have to do a reaction video and I don't think Nanette wouldn't survive that one. To be conscious for 20-30 second would seem like a life-time. Horrible.
Still my favorite Sci-Fi/Horror movie next to the Alien series saw this one in 97 at the theatre when I was 15 loved every minute but I was really disappointed a second part I waited for like 5 years before I gave up on the idea lol
We could barely get through the scary parts as adults - can't image seeing it as a 15 year old! It had to be pretty epic watching it in the theater though. So sad there wasn't a second part.
It was great gore doesn't bother me I'm more creeped out with paranormal movies like the exorcist I watched that one when I was in grade 7 I still watch it every Halloween and still have sweaty palms all the way through
I love your Halloween tradition. Jump scares and gore get me every time but psychological thrillers hit me deep. When movies are ground in real-life and I can imagine myself in the circumstances - that keeps me awake at night.

"Event Horizon" stole the idea of "people being haunted by characters from their guilty conscience" from Stanislaw Lem's "Solaris". Ironically, it is a better "Solaris" movie than any "Solaris" movie that came out. Sure it's kind of a cheap horror film, but at least it's not pretentious.
Seems to be working so far 🤞. Plus we are having fun watching together - we are sisters who live in two different states so this gives us time to hang out. Even if we giving ourselves nightmares with these movies.... not so sure we can make it through SAW!

I wonder how only one crew member of the original crew was still in intact, with everyone else splattrpainted over the walls.
hmmm.... didn't think of that, good point!
Event Horizon is one of the scariest movies ever made.
They got the idea form an older movie called, Galaxy of Terror.
I'm glad you ladies survived it, great reaction! 😂
Wait now we need to watch, Galaxy of Terror?! Thanks for watching btw!
@@totallywhatever 😂
Yay! Fun for the whole family! Lets see if this results in a break :)
The prefect family film!
Hello youre great and so is this movie it freaked me out back in the day, cheers from Norway
Hi, Norway!! Thanks for watching!
Nice reactions. You're safe. 😏👍
Thanks. Can't lie, those horror bits stuck with me.
An amazing non gory horror movie nobody is reacting to: The Night House
Very highly rated too!
We have to check that out! Right now we are focusing on 90s movies but we will move to other decades for special episodes. If you have any 90s movies suggestions we would love to hear them.
Classic pic. 👍
Subbed ✅
You two are so funny. 😂😂😂
Thanks for the sub!!😊🙌
I agree shrines can be creepy. I forget how this movie ends. Sort of.
Yes!! You need to watch the whole movie again.
This is probably the only movie that has ever scared me when I saw it in the theaters.
We wouldn't have made it through if we watched it in the theater!
@@totallywhateverWhen I saw it, there were a couple of people who actually got up and left about halfway through the movie.
☄️Universe with the Unknown🛰️
Is that other film we should watch?
🛸The universe is infinite🌌
If you haven't seen it, I would absolutely recommend Alien (1979)
We’ve seen some clips but never watch the whole thing through. We will add it to our list!
@4:05ish..... "Is that man smoking in space?!... There's no smoking in space!" "Crying.... There's no crying in baseball!" =X-D A League of their own. Great movie!
Yes!! That's what I was referencing
. Thanks for noticing.
I was in basic training when this came out. The theater was full of almost 300 soldiers who all left in silence after having screaming and having our asses scared off for almost 2 hours😂😮
😮 oh wow, that must have been wild.
Dope reaction. You girls definitely need to check out "Midnight Meat Train" from 2008. It has Bradley Cooper in it. One of the best horror movies ever made :)
Thanks! Umm.. that title is frightening! Sounds like something we might need to build up to.... 😱
@@totallywhatever Haha, yeah the title makes it sound worse than it is. Check out the trailer. I think yall would really enjoy it.
@@thaistomp Okay, we will take a look!
You girsl are cool. Subscribed!
Thanks for subbing!
You should check put beasts of no nation and the worlds end. 2 of my favorite movies
We will add those to the list. We are starting with the 90s but might move to other decades.
@@totallywhatever Oh okay, then I recommend the movie Mimic
@@dylanbeard3530 Great, we will add it to the list, thank you!
Me looking at the things you react to: Saved By The Bell, Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Wiitch, Event Horizon.... uh....
😆 yeah - we made a switch. Sticking with 90s but changing to scifi/horror/suspense movies we haven't seen.
@@totallywhatever Great idea! They won't all be as gory as this one :)
I'd suggest going back to the 80s as well - there were some amazing scifi/horror/suspense movies in that decade.
@@birdbrainiac Phew, that's good to know. Yes, we definitely have some 80s on our list too. Thanks for watching - we should have another one out on Friday.
That was so much fun! Great reaction ladies.
Thanks for watching! We were not prepared for the gore!!😆
Yeah and the crazy thing is a lot of the gore was cut from the film. Keep up the great work.
We wouldn't have survived the uncut version!
high tension, is a surprisingly good horror move with a twist that you probably won't see coming its very underrated in my opinion.
That sounds fun, we will add it to our list!! We are trying to start with 90s horror /scifi films - do you have any favorites?
@@totallywhatever Screamers with Peter Weller isn't bad. They live with Roddy Piper is fun. Needful things. The 90's the stand isn't bad, a bit tame but still good. There's a lot of movies from that time I like. if I think of something worthy I'll comment then. High tension is actually very intense you guys may not make it through that, it's worth it if you can. Like, the audition, worth it but long and slow.
@@oubliette862 Oh wow, Roddy Piper! These are great suggestions, thank you. High tension looks like a massive challenge for us - I feel like we need to build up to it. All of these are going on the list.
Look...the extra spikes make it EXTRA cool and will probably not impale anyone.
Can't argue with that!! lol
Creating a special spaceship that can go to a dimension of pure evil seems a little redundant. Why not just go to New Jersey.
Oh boy!
Great reaction. Some advise to watch these horror movies. Please watch them in a darkened room otherwise you will miss lots of detail because of your bright surroundings. Also helps the atmosphere. Thank me later! ;)
That is a really good point - thanks for the tip!
The unofficial first film of a Warhammer 40k franchise.
We've learned that in these comments. Are there any other movies associated with Warhammer?
@@totallywhatever Not sure. I was just goofing really. I doubt if anyone involved with the creation of Event Horizon knows anything about the Immaterium. I always just figured it was a coincidence.
@@totallywhateverI saw yesterday where someone had recommended In the Mouth of Madness. Great choice. That's Carpenter's homage to Lovecraft, please check it out.
I still remember leaving the movie theater thinking..."WTF did i just watch". Still one of the most disturbing films I've seen.
Apparently there was a cut that was even more disturbing! We can't even imagine.
now know you know what happens when "alien" and "hellraiser" have a baby.
ohhhh... two movies we have to see
Next challenge, forget sci-fi horror. Check out "The Prince of Darkness" for some legit cosmic horror that I think the two of you will enjoy.
Ok, we are up for some cosmic horror - adding it to our list.
Lol, your intro say's it all 😂Three of the best lines ever! "We're leaving!".."I am home..." "Where we're going, you dont need eye's to see!"😁
For similar era sci-fi without the horror, "Solaris" 2002 {Thriller} "Starship Troopers" 1997{Action}👍
Such good line!! Where we're going, you don't need eye's to see!"😱😱😱😱😱 We will add Solaris and Starship Troopers to the list, thanks.
Y'all clearly forgot that Sam Neill was also The Anti-Christ...
ummm.... wait what? Noooo! We haven't watched many "scary" movies.
@@totallywhatever The Omen 3... Sorry for the spoiler!
@@joshuakanapkey6570 Ohhhhh - we haven't seen that one! We still might try to watch it - no worries. ;)
This movie is a cult classic, especially among many from the Warhammer 40.000 fandom. It's inspired by the lore of the game and is widely accepted among fans as an unofficial warhammer movie.
We are starting to understand that - we've been learning about Warhammer in these comments.
🌑
🙌
You’ll never look at Dr. Grant the same again.
Nope, never again.
Now...THAT'S a reaction!
Ha ha, thanks! We are a bit traumatized.
You are right, some of the comedy did feel a bit out of place.
@@totallywhatever Some of the scenes make me wonder if it was done as reshoots and added purely because they needed to get more runtime because they got rid of so much or what. In any case it's a fun watch and seeing you react to it was great fun!
@@bloodaxis Yes, that is probably what happen. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate the support.
Hello to Jason Isaacs.
One of our favs!
Thos movie is how it's done!!! We need to get back to this kind of filmmaking thats not star wars or star trek.
Do you have any other favorites like Event Horizon?
@18:40ish... "You can come down. It's perfectly safe." =X-D hoooooooooooowww maaaaaaaaaaanyyy mooooooooooviesss...... have we heard this and here we are - again- perfectly safe. Anyone wanna shout out "PROMETHEUS"? I assure you. It's perfectly safe. =X-D
Right?!?! haha... so many movies. Prometheus? We will add it to the list!
This film traumatized me when I was a kid.
I can see why!! We didn't expect it to go so hard toward the end there!
Please react Woody Woodpecker "Goes to Camp" the new 2024 movie 🙏🤣❤️
Not sure about that one - it sounds as scary as Event Horizon! 😆
@@totallywhatever nono is a funny animated movie 😂😂😂
@@tom.bradley2024 😮💨😆 Oh good, we were concerned for Woody Woodpecker!!

We can put it on the list! Right now we are focusing on 80s - 90s films.
Hello, have you seen the movie Tarzan The Fearless?
No, we haven't seen that one! Maybe we can do it next. Is it it one of your favorite movies?
@@totallywhatever It has someone named Buster Crabbe as Tarzan in it
@totallywhatever I like the movie
@@totallywhatever a 1933 movie
@@aranerem5569We will have to check it out!
Interesting! We haven't seen the original "Solaris" is it more of a slow burn?
I think you just found how to gain followers and views. Reactions to funny or scary movies. Next one, "saw"
Seems to be working so far 🤞. Plus we are having fun watching together - we are sisters who live in two different states so this gives us time to hang out. Even if we giving ourselves nightmares with these movies.... not so sure we can make it through SAW!
I never liked it find it a terribly overrated movie, to be honest.
What is a 90s film you do like?
@@totallywhatever Too many good ones to mention, hundreds of great movies it was the last truly great decade in movies, all down hill from there.
Yeah. Worst movie ever. Right up there with Manos Hands of Fate. 😂😂

decades later, still cant enjoy this one with out suppor
oh no!
