MK5 Golf Steering Wheel Replacement

Back to the channel, I highly appreciate everyone following and supporting the channel, seeing your messages and feedback is amazing. I'm going to try and keep the uploads regular, some more important and entertaining things coming soon too.
This video is all about changing the Steering Wheel and Air Bag on the MK5 Golf the standard, GT, GTi and R32. The MFSW is a little bit different although it has two plugs instead of 1 like in this video.

one of the best videos I've seen with clear shot of how to release the airbag clips.
Long after I had to tough it out and piece together clues from other videos and sort of "wing it", but I'm glad it's here for others!
Also, thanks for the tip about leaving the key in to prevent the steering wheel lock!

M12 multispline is the correct tool for removing the steering wheel bolt....you risk damaging the bolt with a t50

Confirming the M12 works swimmingly
(FWIW also seen them called / sold as "triple square")

Can you put on a wheel that has buttons if yours dosent

Yeah it is possible to retrofit the multifunctional buttons, not sure how myself but there are videos and companies that can do it for you

@@PoweredByPetrol1 Are you still alive? I’m going to be doing it today 😂 also my stock wheels are 16s and I bought some 18s ,225/40ZR18 92 and the other two tires are 88s for the front. So do you think they’d fit no issue? Online seems to say so. They’re mk6 GTI wheels to put on my mk5 rabbit (USA 2.5 GOLF) on stock ride suspension
