Hello Aju, thanks for the video. My machine doesn’t make the noise when I push start. The lights come on the left side of machine but not the cups on right. Do you think that is solenoid issue
We have no water coming out at all , we have checked the pump by removing the water pipe and it is working . Do you think it is the solenoid ? There is no weird noise , the machine sounds as normal but no water coming out the head or steamer . Water coming into reservoir .
Mr Aju i have the same machine its been with me for 3 years and yesterday its started giving me electrical shocks if i tocuhed the metal parts so i took it to a repair shop and he told me the soleniod is the issue and needs to be repaired but the thing is the machine works fine but the issue is only the electrical shock i just wants you to confirm if the diagnosis is right
Aju, I think your videos are some of the best on youtube. I have seen your repirs to this machine. Have you ever seen anyone add an automatic light to the grinder/group head area that comes on when you turn on the machine?
Hi there, I see you posted this 3 months ago, you said in one of your comment replies that you didn’t get the part yet! My question did you replace the solenoid with new one or did you take it out and clean it?!
Hi Aju, thanks for the video. I saw on another forum that if your Barista Express is tripping the fuse every time you try to make coffee, it could be a failed solenoid. Have you ever heard of that? I also read that an o-ring leak could cause a short, which will trip the fuse also, But I checked all my o-rings and I don't see a leak. My machine doesn't make the same noise that yours does, btw. At least it didn't before it began tripping the fuse every time I pressed the one cup or two cup buttons. Thanks!
Hi there, this machine which made solenoid noise did tripp the fuse twice. I wonder that too. So i believe that. But it happened only twice. Not sure about the o-ring leak, but any leak can short circuit the electrical things inside
Hi Aju, My 870 XL is 2 yrs old. it will stop brewing 2 or 3 seconds after pressing 1 or 2 cups buttons. no weird sound of valves or pump ! it just stops like it has ended a brewing cycle ! I did some cleaning descaling and even cleaned the water flow sensor. No success ! hope you can help. Thanks
I found that one of the solenoids had got stuck in the open position preventing any pressure build up. You can remove the solenoids very easily. You can push the offending plunger out and by cleaning it so it operates ok, problem fixed.
Hii, I’ve a weird problem. Water comes out through the group head, empty portafilter and steam wand without trouble, but not a drop comes out of the portafilter when it’s loaded with coffee and pressure is absent … I did your pressure test with the empty dual wall cup and the pressure was indeed there. Is that a solenoid problem ? And how can i know for sure?
Can you grind coarser, i.e . A number above 10 in Grinder and grind some beans and take 17g in a double basket, but use single walled basket. Let me know if you get some coffee
@@AjusCafe thank you so much for responding! We have actually tried that but again no water came out.. However, as this is the first time we bring the coffee machine with us on holidays, it seems the place is too hot and humid for the machine to function normally, after leaving the machine in an air conditioned room, it magically worked again!
Hello, I am wondering if you could advise me on the problem I am having with this machine, I have tried to follow your ceaning videos, but my machine will not put water through the portafilter at all, so I can't use the tablet to clean it. I have checked all the hoses by taking the back off no leaks all looks good, strainer in the portafilter was very clogged, but cleaned now. Can you tell me why the water isn't able to come through the coffee grounds Many Thanks Lyn
@@AjusCafe No I am not able to get any water through the portafilter, I wanted to use the cleaning tablet but no water will come into it to do the clean, It heats the water, steam comes through the frother, and through the hot water, but nothing throigh the portafilter?
I have a problem with my sage barista express, I get no pressure from the portafilter or water, no steam from the steam wand, and no water from the secondary water, I'm at my wits end with it
HELP! I had all the symptoms of a bad solenoid...electrical burnt smell no water from the group head, but water from the steam wand and hot water. I replaced the whole solenoid block...but to no avail. Still NO WATER from the group head. Please advise I'm at wit's end.
Hello from Germany. I would like to ask you, if you had the problem, that when you switch on the barista, there usually is a short noise of the pump. Today I switched on the barista, but there was no noise and even after the heating up period, there is the pump not working, not even for hot water. Maybe the pump defektive, or just a corroded contact? Thanks for an answer.
Thank you. We did this and it worked thankfully.
Shall definitely run a descaler through more often.
Thank you this fixed mine the steam and hot water was coming from main head now it's fixed thank you very much indeed .
Glad to hear that

Thank you. No i haven't seen that. My Breville Oracle has that inbuilt
Ok thanks@@AjusCafe
Another question , how to know which solenoid is faulty the three way or the two way?!

Good to hear that. Was your solenoid making this same noise earlier?

Are you able to get water through Portafilter and basket without any grinds in it? What about pressurized basket without grinds?

Did you ever get the part from Breville?
Not yet

Potentially a water pump issue

That is a different issue. A gasket that switches to grouohead and steam needs to be replaced. Not too sure if you should replace the whole system.
My exact issue. Did you solve it?

It could be pump. Where you Descaling the machine regularly?
Scale seems to be the biggest problem with these machines. De-scale often!! CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN before things go bad
