    If I could choose one to own and drive I would go for the UK one, but the Aussie’s level of craftsmanship is astounding. That said, from the first ep the US one was the most eye catching of all three. Had I been there to vote I think I would have voted either UK or AU, but all three are amazing and worthy of respect!

      The black bike is the only one that is rideable every day, or for long miles. The Australian bike had the best craftsmanship. The American won because it was big long and bloated, and that is what Americans who voted want.

    There were bits of all 3 that I liked. The American one had that long, low curvy look, but in the end it looked like a tribal tattoo with wheels. The English one had the perfect '50s vibe, and I really liked the extremely clean look and the fact it had 2 fat tires on it, but the only access to the front brake being on that shift lever under your butt was a bit of a bummer, as was the shifter position, and it was an off-the-shelf assembly that really didn't have that chopper look. In the end, the Aussie bike really nailed it. Absolutely blown away by the craftsmanship that went into it and it's hard to argue with the quality of the end result. The fit and finish were next level. They'd have had my vote had I been there.

    • @geraldstephenson2755
      @geraldstephenson2755 10 місяців тому

      depends on what style of chopper youre going for. you say the english didnt quite have a chopper feel, but it definitely had that 50s early 60s bobber kinda early chopper style. the other two were that newer style of chopper. in my mind the aussies did the best work all around for sure, that level of craftmanship is just amazing and i respect it, but i just cant get down with that newer style of chopper and will always prefer that older style like the british did. i will agree that the choice to do the front brake like that is a bit dumb though.

    This episode is what made me a Joe Martin fan for life no matter what he's building. If I had one in my garage? it's Exile. It's my style of what I want to ride most. it's me end to end.
    I love and appreciate any and all artists with passion and these guys set off a firestorm back in the day of what became the big bike boom 2K!

    For bike built, Scotty the Aussie hands down. Master piece. For rideable and one i would buy, the UK bike without a doubt. Amazing bike. Ete candy with style and paint job, the US bike. Would have been 3rd in my vote. Hard pressed between UK and Australia. Just depends on my personal criteria

      +Alistair Nelson Bush Jr. wasn't elected by honest votes, just like Obummer wasn't. They were just the puppets assigned by the powers that be. Having said that, I agree the Aussie chap is an amazing craftsman. I mean he is a world class metal worker. I think Joe Martin is also quite gifted in metal working. The Arrogant Britwit get's zero praise from me though. There's a reason he's never won in the States, and if he wasn't so fucking arrogant, he might see why and correct it. Clearly that won't happen.

      and often, a lot of the real craftsmen are hardly known outside their community, and just do what they love to do back home in their garage or shed, regardless of shows and stuff. Only if someone wants to bring his business into spotlight, thats a reason to do so

    • @WelLRoundeDSquarE
      @WelLRoundeDSquarE 8 років тому +1

      Guido Rollard I think you're 100% correct. I build some pretty cool shit in my garage/shop, and I do it with very little money, or resources. I always love to see true craftsmen build things, no matter what genre it's in. We are a dying breed. these days if they can't google it to see how everyone else does it, or if a computer can't tell them what to do, they are lost. I'm a machinist by trade, and a damn good one. Kids aren't learning to do things with their minds and hands any more. It's a real shame too.

    *The Americans most definitely put the most creativity and function all while making the most comfortable to ride bike, except for the fact that it's a hard-tail!!! The Brits (Russell) built (assembled) the same old boring bobber that they ALWAYS do!!! The Aussies actually "built"something for once, and it actually ran!! The Aussies also finally picked someone that's not afraid to put a little hard work into his bike, I actually kinda liked this one!!*

Clean and mean old school bike. Not a chopper or bobber. Just a bike many can appreciate. USA, I'd would agree but in a chopper build off, he'll win. Hands down. Nice paint job. I remember watching this when it first aired, and thinking the Exile looked timeless, while the other two, as impressive as the work was, instantly looked like 2004. It was obvious then the long swoopy tribal flame stuff would not be around in a few years. Russell Mitchell in 2021 is still building satin black tanks while the other two are now doing completely different things, which I think says it all.

      Timeless doesn't matter because people will always love the stuff from their era. Take the vehicle industry, how sought after all the old mustangs, corvettes, chargers, camaros, old trucks, it's endless all the older vehicles that are going for big money now. So, in time, these older bikes will be just as sought after as collectible time pieces.

    The Aussie bike looks like the silver surfer ordered a custom chopper. The American bike looks like a dragon with serious back problems wearing a bunch of gaudy jewelry. It looks like some inaccurate interpretation of a motorcycle, like if you asked an ai to produce an image of a motorcycle.

    Aussie team should have won. It took way more skill to fabricate a bike that was way more unique than the other two. I agree with Aaack Aardvark here: Murcian and Brit bikes were a lot more bolt-on vs. truly custom bits throughout the bike. Not only that, but the bike that won was by far the least drivable. They barely got that monstrosity running...

    • @TT4ME
      @TT4ME 5 років тому +1

      The timing had to be adjusted. Barely got it running? The Aussies couldn't get theirs running until they replaced a wire. Nice logic.

    I like what Aussies came up with. all hand made. Great Style. USA was flashy and impractical ( but there was a lot of hard work and the airbrush was amazing). Brit was like "Bike Assembly", all pre-fabricated. For me Aussies are the winner.

    The brothers do EVERYTHING. They don’t send their bikes out to an artist to paint, they ARE the artist. There was no comparison. That American bike is in a different atmosphere from the Aussie. AMAZING USA. English 3Rd, Aussie 2nd, USA 1st. All did a great job

  • @Waveluth

    I’m sorry but when you allow a contest to be judged by a bunch of drunk spectators, your gonna get it wrong.
    Now the Martin bros. bike was an outstanding build NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!!
    But in as much as they built it custom, they still didn’t go through what the Australia team did.
    You see, EVERY SINGLE INCH OF THAT bike was custom cast aluminum polished to the specs of a fine Swiss watch. The contest should be judged by qualified builders that know what they are talking about. NOT by a bunch of easily impressed inebriated Yahoos that are judging them on pretty paint and striping.
    C’mon are you kidding me?? EVERY SINGLE PART OF THE AUSSIE build was built by hand. Did you see how thick the fender material was?? Or how beefy those handlebars were? Everything about that build SCREAMED high quality. The winner and the English bobber were fine bikes for sure and I would feel privileged to own either of them. But my opinion and 45 years experience with custom work says: the Aussie testament CREAMED the other guys and that they won on beauty, technical prowess and all around perfection.
    If they were compared to watches:
    •Martin bike was a SEIKO
    •English bobber an Omega
    •Aussie bike is a ROLEX!!
    🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻

    I thought the Aussie bike and the American bikes looked the same and cliche. Generic looking like an OCC bike... loads of spikes and points. The Englishman’s bike was a stand out. Old school and super clean! I respect the Aussie bike builder for crafting everything on his own, but the Brit bike wins my vote.

    I love the Martin Bros bike, i like the long low lean look and the jockey shift, really bad ass , but.... BUT Russell with that kick ass old school fat front tire and zero cable clean bar look with the kick ass Knucklehead, old school flame paint job gets my vote, the knucklehead is what put it over the top would have been a tough vote but man Russells chop is totally sick!

    Back in the day when I was responsible for making custom motorcycle tyres for Avon, then Vee Rubber, Scotty Cox entered the Acid Monster, a truly gorgeous motorcycle for the world championship held in Las Vegas. As I am also a former racer, tyre tester, and aerospace engineer, I could not fail but be impressed by the overall package of the man and machine. Too often the term builder is tagged onto assemblers, and so it has become almost a stupid statement in itself. This is the man for the art of the motorcycle, from start to finish. No surprise that an American won in an American contest, in America. But I for one, beg to differ
