I will soon be 74 years of age and remember that my father was a flight instructor for these AT6 trainers during the war[ WW2] He loved them.He sent to his sister in 1944 , a picture of his plane while in the initial solo training phase . On the back was written...." had her up to 600 mph in a dive today but ..blacked out...not for long or would not be writing this !...I was in during Vn Era as a Combat Corpsman and Battle surgery technician...First US Army MEDDAC .Dana ..Disabled Vn Era Vet and Vet Rep.[ ret ]

Another fantastic video Steveo! I just wanted to let you know that I started watching you about 3 years ago and after I found you, I started thinking about becoming a pilot. Something you said in one of you videos stuck with me. "when people always ask me what I do for a living I always say "im a pilot" to which they reply "oh i've always wanted to do that" and you said "well why didn't you"" That has stuck with me ever since that vid came out probably about 2 years ago. Well on March 25th I started my flight training! Thank you Steveo for all the inspirational videos and showing us all that it can be done. To anyone thinking about flight, GO FOR IT! Don't wait..

My dad was a career Air Force pilot and trained in the T-6 for WWII. Graduated to the P40, P47, and P51. Great video!
These planes wake up very old memories , when I was a little kid in mid fifties , the french Air Force was using the T6 against insurgents in North Africa ( Algeria was french at that time ) . One of the first vehicle I learnt to identify by shape and sound.

Awesome! I was lead with an SNJ one day (I was in my RV). We went into an event and did an overhead break at midfield. He pushed the prop full forward just as I gave the 2 second break signal and I literally ducked. I thought he was coming through my canopy. Good video.

We used to call the plane a havard and they were used to train pilots in the 70s in cape town

My grandfather flew these when he was in the RAF! I think they are used as jet fighter trainers. They look stunning though!

AWESOME. You need to get checked out in a T-6 Steveo. You do that, and you can handle any airplane. It's not called the "Pilot Maker" for nothing. It quickly weeds out people that don't use their feet! Man time flies, you were just at Sun N Fun a few weeks ago it seems.
Next video on UA-cam will be my first official flight lesson in a tailwheel airplane! Looking forward to the adventure.
