Amen dude. After the 1st nitrous mishap, they should've started the swap with either an srt4 caliber or srt4 "neon that you can't call a neon" motor. I thought they were basically the same engines for years. But they only share the displacement, each has its pros and cons. Would've been one hell of a send off for the the ole P.T.
The Caliber SRT4 engine can do 300whp with just a tune. But you need the gearbox too... that 4 speed is not geared for the strip, it probably has a 300kph top gear.

The sportsmanship is what made this episode worth watching. Just with boat racing I tell everyone I will race anything from a canoe to a ProMod boat and have fun doing so
Should get an intake from a Neon SRT4. They were aluminum, so you're much less likely to have a blowout from a nitrous backfire. And you can even drill and tap and install a direct fogger system and hide it on the bottom of the intake. That's what I did with my 1998 R/T since it was aluminum as well and I was running 125hp shot.
@dkis8730 Dodge didn't engineer the 2.4L to death to save money. They just built them like bricks. Mine was only bolt-ons: clutch, coils/wires, MSD ignition, CAI, cat-back, UD pulleys, 17" wheels/tires, and hybrid Zex/NX wet kit. Would eat bolt-on Fox-body Mustangs light to light on the street.
Probably didn’t do so well in baja if it even made it to Baja last episode had a lot of issues with the truck. Not sure if they got it all squared away in time for baja
24:00 I mean to be honest he needs all the weight savings he could get because from what I remember back then the PT cruiser still weighed like half a thousand or 1000 pounds more than the Integra from factory. My cammed k24/20 made 280whp with lower comp pistons. But even basic bolt on tune k24s can get 240whp (I'd assume he's tuned if running nitrous). 15% drivetrain loss for each and that's about 330hp and 280hp at the crank for each. Ks make a shit ton of power. Light chassis plus dude can drive and has tires and suspension
The set screw in your drill press motor pulley is coming loose and rattling on the key. You need to remove it, clean it, and use loctite or it will keep coming loose and wear the key. I'm an old neon guy, so I love the PT build!
