    I drove 9 years Uber and Lyft, 18,000 rides. Just quit Rideshare due to it not worth doing anymore. Didnt expect to do it that long but rather work alone , own hours, pay at end of day, after corporate lay off after all the work done for them but now dont see Rideshare any different than corporate.
    Own my own business and control of my own pay not any other business pretending that you an independent contractor treating you like an employee.

    thank you for sharing your story. I’ve been a driver not quite as long as you have. I am coming up on six years in between the two. I’ve got to almost 10,000 rides. It’s crazy to think that it’s been that long and I’ve had that many rides, but I’ve had a lot of great experiences and a lot of great stories.

    32,566 7yrs 2mo rides - I could not work for years after some Back and Neck injuries. Discovered Uber back on February 2, 2017, and started driving February 5th, 2017, up here in Minnesota .. Being a distance driver, I loved driving to all the Outer cities from Ham Lake, Anoka, Maple Grove, Lakeville, Stillwater, White Bear Lake, Hugo, Forest Lake back in the day. Today you can start from basically anywhere in the twin cities metro area but its thanks to guys like Joe who built the inner cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis because it's the backbone of Rideshare up here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Cheers Joe for 10 years

    Hi. Taxi Driver from Sydney.
    I’m jumping ship to Uber very soon.
    Purchasing a Hybrid Toyota Camry this week.
    Great car for passengers and Drivers.
    These Rideshare videos have been very helpful, although I have experience doing the same job, but from a different angle, I knew not to assume I was king. I have a strategy and flexibility with tactics.
    A target area that seems to be neglected on the fringe of surges will be researched heavily. Also a side hustle region.
    Both areas have big $$$ and I’m excited 🤓

    I have been driving Uber since August 2017. 16,000+ rides. 4.93 rating. Last week they locked my account and i haven't been able to even sign on. They even locked my passenger app. All i got was an email saying someone reported me for safety reasons and it was between Friday and Sunday. This garbage about them being transparent not deactivating people based on just what the passengers say is just that, garbage.

    I'm now driving for Uber full time during the day and into the evening. I'm in California and after gas oil changes car cleaning ect. I'm three months behind on car payments. And what uber pays drivers is less than half of what they are charging passengers. I enjoy driving and have had no bad experiences with passengers but at the end of the day I'm not making enough money.

  • @HarringJess
    @HarringJess 17 днів тому

    Joe, your story is very similar to mine. Driver of 8yrs here and I also posted on Craigslist offering airport trips, as well as through Task Rabbit offering airport trips. Then I started bringing people around at different destinations. I signed up just to start doing it here and there, it blossomed into full time and was profitable up until this year. So our household has three solid sources of income, including a new full time job. Uber will now mostly be a few hours after work heading home and most weekends. Because of the other two solid job incomes, including the other source, Uber is no longer going to be the primary source.

  • @amybull5180

    Going on 6 years, almost UBER exclusive. I switched to Lyft last week and it pays way better than UBER in my market ATM, so I'm mostly Lyft for the moment. I don't think I could go back to a "regular" job anymore! Could I use more money, sure. But what price can you put on the freedom rideshare gives you? I was a trucker for years. This is a way better gig...

  • @D1RTYSmoke1

    How would someone finance a vehicle for ride-sharing while have Lyft for a main source of income so who finances ride share drivers

    • @texasmade2719
      @texasmade2719 21 день тому +1

      FYI you don't want to finance a vehicle for Commercial Capacity cause the insurance alone will cost you a lot. If you gonna buy a vehicle for Rideshare get a used good condition cash car cause they don't pay enough to cover a car note! Rideshare is a side gig to make money on the side of your primary job. It's not meant to be a primary job which is why many are disappointed in them today trying to get them to care more for the drivers.
      When you use your personal vehicle you will get less rides for a higher amount of fares. If you rent through their apps you will get more rides with less amount of their fares cause over 70 percent of your profit goes to the weekly rental fee and gas or charging an EV or Tesla.
      I've used my personal vehicle twice and rented through Uber and Lyft apps. You can write off as expenses through standard mileage.

    I am retired but couldn’t sit home all day. I’ve driven Uber,Lyft and Door Dash. I just deliver Door Dash now because I don’t have to concern myself with my appearance or my cars appearance. I have fun with Door Dash and don’t worry about the tipping etc. I can understand the frustration if your dependent on the income to survive as the base pay has gone down. My advice to anyone driving Door Dash is if a problem comes up deal with whatever it is in a calm manner and try not to let emotions get in your way. Always make the Top Dasher requirements because then you control your schedule without having to schedule your work time. Deliver the $2.50 and $3.00 deliveries because Door Dash will always kill your acceptance rate if you decline deliveries. Enjoy your craft learn as much as you can on shopping deliveries etc. Drive sensibly for good gas mileage and you can make money at driving. Drive safely and just let any driving rage go because your going to run into bad drivers, slow pickups, bad directions from the app. It’s better to pull over take a short break then move on.

    Lol, rates were far higher 10 years than today by the looks of it. Meanwhile, Lyft has about doubled their take rate. Some of those trips look like they would now pay half as much in my market. Freedom and flexibility is an illusion since you can't earn squat when driving without surge or bonuses. And if you even want to earn a minimum wage, you can only work during surges and bonuses, so there goes your freedom and flexibility. Congrats on the 10 years though! @ArtMexico-vu6qq why do you keep projecting your problems on to others?
      Now we know you are also broke.
      How can I help?

      @SteveHoffmann you are an idiot. I do not drive uber and I am not broke. If I was broke I would not drive uber. I would find a real job

    I don’t like to show up to an office at certain days and times but also go open the same schedule driving for Uber so where’s the complete flexibility? 😂
