Hi there, friends! My name is Katie and I'm a video journalist & food enthusiast. On this channel I make videos about life and delicious things. I post every week, and of course, I #keepitquirky :) - Навчання та стиль
There's only one Christmas Eve movie in Italy, both for kids and adults: "Una poltrona per due" (Trading places) with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd
Hahah amazing! We will watch it next year!
@@TheQKatie you will find it in regular tv plans for christmas :D
@@TheQKatie Here this become a christmas tradition!
Ciao Salvo! Grazie, sono contenta ti piacciano i miei video!!
I think you got the spirit of Italy quite well! I am happy that you seem to enjoy our country even in these times of lockdown and other bad things.
So grateful to be here!
Alessandro Barbero is a God in Italy, you should absolutely listen to his podcasts :D
I'm so happy to finally see foreigners enjoying the southern part of Italy!
I've just found your channel and I'm already a big fan! Great content and greatest personalities!
Grazie mille!
The book you got for christmas was written by probably the best italian historian and, if you like history or want to learn more of it, i suggest listening to his podcast!
Katie thank u for the time stamps!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Italian etiquette tip: you don't want to use the spoon with risotto. Spoon has to be used only for soups and stock, never for primo piatto! The same for the knife: you don't want to use that to cut lasagna...
loving these vlog style videos ❤️
Glad you like them!!
Happy New Year Katie and Connor!!🌟 That pumpkin risotto looks really good!
Happy new year!! The pumpkin risotto has totally become a favorite recipe!
Katie and Connor, thank you so much for making these videos - it is truly making my day and helping me to plan what I will be doing and eating once I travel to Italy whenever it becomes safe to travel. I love your videos so much - keep them coming 😌❤️
Aw, thanks so much for watching! Here's hoping you can travel safely to Italy sooner than later ❤️
Grazie per aver reso la mia città un po’ più conosciuta all’estero. Love ❤️
Mi piace questa città! Sono contenta di condividere ❤️😊
Risotto zucca e gorgonzola ..my gaaaaaad ... il mio preferito 🧨🧨🧨💣💣💣
Siete fantastici, ragazzi, complimenti.
Make some of the panettone into french toast. This has become a Christmas breakfast tradition for us.
Ooooo! YES! Must do that asap.
YES! Panettone french toast is amazing. This year I also made a couple of bread puddings with panettone and bourbon eggnog as the dairy base to drop them off for family and friends on Christmas Eve. We can't physically be together but I can share the love.
@@TheQKatie it's sooooo worth it. If you have some grand marnier it's delicious in the custard and if you want an extra crunch coat with chopped up almonds and pistachios before cooking! :D soooooo goooddd
What ?... C’MAAAAN ...PLEASE DONT...EVERYTIME YOU DO IT AN ITALIAN GRANNY DIES😂😂😂Just kiddin... but c’mon..
Happy new year ! Gnocchi looks delicious 😋
Happy new year!! (I wish the gnocchi lasted longer...we ripped through those leftovers!)
I messaged Brian as soon as I saw the panettone to order some here and he told me it was from there! Haha! It looks delish!! Now after watching you eat it.... yum! You and Connor are eating your beat life!! Stay safe and well! Happy 2021!!
Haha that's awesome. It was sooo good! (Didn't last very long here! We went through it in record time!)
OMG I can't believe you're in Italy eating brown cheese, I'm Swedish and some people love it but def something I always thought was an acquired taste as it kinda tastes like peanut butter and cheese
LOVE your videos!!!! greetings from Ushuaia, Argentina!!!
👋 👋 👋 thanks for watching! Hope to visit Argentina someday!
@@TheQKatie yay!! We'll be waiting with lots of Argentine meat (asado!) for you guys! Btw, I'm an English teacher and I've been using your videos in class!! 😊
I really like this channel !!
mi fai venire fameee ! sono italiano e devo imparare a cucinare !!
Yes, Die Hard is totally a Christmas movie. Ugh, life without knives sux. That and the horrific glass "cutting board." Rabe, olives, capers, and anchovies sounds pretty freaking awesome. Buon Natale! Felice anno nuovo!
Happy 2021 to you, too!
Happy New Year!!
Same to you!!
Happy New year!
Happy 2021!!
Die hard is a Harry Potter movie! He’s sneaking around a tower all night hiding from Alan Rickman.
Haha I LOVE this comparison. So true. (Harry Potter is another of my favorite movies to watch around Christmastime!)
Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie!
you guys are awesome
Now I pretend to know how Katie doesn't gain weight by cooking all day. I'm from Puglia, and become fatter just watching the video.
It's a challenge for sure!
I absolutely love the dishes you made & presented! I can tell they were created with such a love for food - the kind of meals that are enjoyed the most, too! I am going to try making the pizza with my children & the gnocchi for the next family gathering. Just curious- did you see gluten free options in restaurants in Puglia?
As a southern Italian with a sweet spot for Nordic culture, I'm into Norwegian and I felt it when Connor struggled with "Gudbrandsdalen", very difficult.
The "u" is often pronounced like in "new", "a" is generally closed and tending to an open "o", the "r" is alveolar (like in Italian) in most parts of the country (except in the Southwest), the "o" in "ost" like in "improve". Intonation resembles a sinus curve.
In "brunost", he was almost there, nice try.
Apart from language issues, so funny video!
Thanks for watching!
If you like Brunost (Norwegian), try messmör(Swedish! So, if Brunost is a hard cheese, messmör is the equivalent soft cheese. Delicious!
Oh, nice! Didn't know about this. Adding it to my list. Thank you!!
There are two kind of person. The ones who think that Die Hard is a Chrismas movie and the ones that are wrong
hahahahaha so true
I am too of Italian descent but I have never been interested in Italy in general. but I have to say that you're doing an amazing job, I keep looking forward to your next vids!
Wow, thank you for the compliment!
I recently discovered your channel its awesome! Ive tried many bread recipes with none worth making again. I hear you say you make your own bread. Do you have a good white bread no bread machine needed. Thank you from the Jersey shore!! U.S.A!!!
You two are so cute: “You pervert. What! No. You.”
Bello vederti gustare il cibo
6:42 ora puoi dire di aver vissuto in Italia ;)
in northern Italy piatto fondo is also called fondina
Good to know!
Happy new year From Perú 🙌
Happy new year!
Next time, try some nutmeg (noce moscata) in your risotto alla zucca.
yummmm
For your moka pot, are you buying grounds or are you grinding your own coffee?
I'm buying grounds (I don't have a way to grind them myself in this rental apartment...) Ideally I'd grind them myself; but that'll have to wait :)
Die hard is the best xmas movie.
I mean, you've pretty much convinced me 😆
One of the only things you can do in a global lockdown is cook.
Truth. Thank goodness for that!
Buon anno..
Buon anno!! ❤️
taleggio
sooo gooood
My sons told me Die Hard is a Christmas movie.....hmmm🤔
Are they sellingbrunost in Italy ?
We had to order it online www.goudacheeseshop.com/gjetost-gudbrandsdalen-norwegian-brown-cheese.html
You call that lockdown, while living in Italy? I declare this video is misleading! 😋😋
Haha! We're certainly making the most of it!
but, where were the escaroles gone? It is supposed to be escaroles, not "cime di rapa" ;)
Lives in Italy... has Italian Citizenship... can't deal with illegality... hm
Should still learn the deep meaning of: "che cazzo me ne frega"
