I'd love to see pics of your cakes and cake pops on ANY of the above -- You all know how mine turn out -- now show me YOUR creations!
Xx Elise
Thanks so much! Positive feedback is always warmly received :) Lots more to come so will definitely be keeping up the good work xx
Thats awesome - your family is so lucky to have such a talented baker in the family!
Definitely not diet friendly but as a treat, it's a delicious alternative to a traditional cake :) Glad you like the look of it!
I lOVE frosting :) And this frosting is so delicious, you can't help but want more!
So glad I was able to help :) It's always nice to learn from someone else's many many mistakes instead of having to make them yourself! Hope the giant turned out well :)
Hi - Thanks but while you might know what all these things are, I get HEAPS of feedback from people saying they love how well I explain things. I like to give you guys ALL the info you need to make something and not try to assume or guess peoples level of experience or prior knowledge. Some of my audience are 11-15 year olds and they don't necessarily know what a spatula is so i do appreciate your feedback, but will probably continue to explain all these things. Hope you keep watching though :)
No - the cupcake is COMPLETELY COOL when I put it into the chocolate cupcake case.
Yes it will - it will cut, but may break in some places - thats why we spread the frosting on the inside before putting the cake in - so the cupcake case sticks to the cake if the case should hapen to break :)
I'm so glad it was helpful! I love cake decorating, and am passionate about sharing with others :)
Glad you like it! Thanks for tuning in :)
This one is a bit longer than most of my vids - lots to learn!! Thanks for watching :)
Hi - I usually cut the top section into pieces first, then the bottom so I get more serves. It can be a little tricky to cut but it's worth it for the look of them!
Thank you! Welcome to the channel :)
Just with a regular knife. The case usually breaks a little but the frosting we use on the inside of the case should stick the cake to it, and if you want a more even cut, dip the knife in boiled water for a minute before cutting, so it slides through the cake a bit better. They are a little messy to cut, but they look so good it's worth it!
I sell my stuff at markets, give it to friends and family and sometimes eat it myself :) I NEVER get sick of sweet things :)
I shall be attempting this tomorrow for my sister birthday meal Saturday hope it works xx
Theres nothing wrong with crunchy cake! i dip the crunchy cutoffs in chocolate and eat them sometimes - they are awesome!
Hi I have become slightly addicted to your channel bought a mould today to try giant cupcakes, have subscribed on my husbands account so he is bit confussed by the channel recommendations he keeps getting :) keep up the good work, excellent videos.
I almost fell asleep because your voice is very soothing and soft
i can literay open a playlist from your channel and fall asleep watchng :) DONT TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY you arent boring at all !!! your voice is so calming and you teach all these simple things so good :) Awesome job !
Hi - sorry, I've been away and didn't see this message till it was too late :( I would have suggested a giant cupcake, surrounded by regular cupcakes as a great, easy and easy to serve alternative - what did you end up doing?
It is just the recipe i used in the perfectly pipeable buttercream frosting tutorial on my channel :)
You can - mine are never quite above the top of the case though so I find this way easier but that's whats great about baking - you can learn stuff then put your own twist on it. Thanks so much for watching :)
Online or in a cake decorating store. Check ebay for giant cupcake mould and you should find one - they are really widely available :)
Thank you so much I was about to embark on this mission with limited knowledge... I know a heap more now and nice to hear an aussie voice for a change.
Great idea!
Would just like to say thank you so much for your videos they were so helpful to me and the most detailed I’ve seen on the web, my Cupcake would definitely not have turned out as well as it did without your help...…. I had to make a Mars Bar Giant Cupcake for my sister’s boyfriends Birthday & your videos helped me a great deal, It was a big hit with everyone.....thanks again
Tip: When ready to take the cake out of the silicone case, place the base on a large round tin, slightly smaller than the base, then peel the silicone down the chocolate case.
Thanks - I'm Australian :)
Sur e- I have it on my list, but am just finalising a design I'm happy with :)
That buttercream looks sooooo good! Omg
Haha, I saw that episode. Agreed - but I figure if it looks like a cupcake & tastes like a cupcake, we can pretty safely call it a cupcake :)
Thank you for sharing these tutorials with us!
I made one today for a 5 yrs old birthday party, came out great, thanks for posting these videos.
This helped cuz ive decorated before but obviously its not everyday you make a giant cupcake but im making one for my daughters 1st bday and was really scared I was gunna mess it up!! This makes me feel really confident I wont!! U make it look so simple!! Thank You!!
have to ask, but what is the point using the cupcake mould, if you cut the outside away anyway?
Might as well use a metal bucket sized tin and cut it to shape anyway, isn't it shaped for a reason?
If you think, you would realise that the cupcake has to fit into the chocolate mould because they were made with the same size silicone case!!! So you have to make the cake smaller to fit properly. That's why she had to curve it.
Your voice is so lovely! Great tutorials, thank you so much!
good tutorials! used these before i used mine for the first time! just wanted to point out that the base takes longer too cook so if you put that in ten mins before the top then pull them out the oven at the same time it avoids any darker/crispy/burnt parts :)
LOl -It's my "tag line" - Glad you're enjoying the videos :)
Hi - You can make it one or two days in advance - I'd probably make it the day before. It really depends on the type of cake you use - sponge will dry quicker and something like a mud cake will last up to a week! Tip: DON'T refrigerate - just room temperature is best for cupcakes as the fridge makes them hard and dry.
Thanks Elise - great name! LOL xx Elise
No - must be silicone, or at least flexible, You won't be able to get the case out of the metal tin :)
your voice is very relaxing to listen to :)
It's an Aussie thing I guess - just different names for stuff in different countries. Cupcake Liner, cupcake case, patty pan - it's all the same thing to us! xx
Hi!
thank you for sharing this lovely
Thank you! Hopefully it won't put you to sleep though :)
My little sisters birthday was yesterday and i made a giant cake which i learnt from my mum and i also made two giant cupcakes and put only 1 on the cake with other little mini cupcakes around it with frosting sprinkles etc. and then the other giant cupcake was just a spare if they wanted more. the kids really liked it !
I LOVE crunchy cakes!:P
This one is just a packet cake mix. I will get some recipes up, just need to find the time to film them :)
OMG You're a Godess! I'm subscribing!
Thanks for this tutorial! I was able to finish my cake! :)
Me too!!!
Actually, that base is a packet cake mix (cheat alert-lol) It was a greens (australian brand) chocolate cake mix but any packet mix should hold its shape really well and be relatively easy to carve.
Love cupcakes !!!!!
Wow! Great video.
I guess you could - I've never used one so I'm not sure!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. You are a very good teacher and I am looking forward to making one of these in the near future doing the lego construction cupcake idea. Thanks again love your site and you tube instructions will visit often.
Dee Chapman sumaaa
I was all set to buy a metal Wilton giant cupcake pan, but having seen all the uses you have for the silicone one I think I'm going to go that direction instead. Finding them very cheap on ebay too!
The crunchy part is the best part on a cake 🎂
I love that you use chocolate cake... thats my fav! :D
Watching you make a giant cupcake is making me hungry.....lol
Thank you so much. It was the best tutorial!!!
I think that you should do an updated video explaining how to make a Giant Cupcake and all of the tips you have learned since making this video.
There is one.
Yum!
First I'd like to sat the crunch edges is the best part i f a cake lil but this really helped. My cupcake pan just like yours will be in the mail tomorrow and I'm making my boyfriend a giant peanut butter cup - thanks for the tut- for his birthday this week and then I also have both my kids birthdays this week. I'm excited.

Wow! Absolutaly amazing!! You are one inspirationbomb! And your voice is so pleasant to listen to, I'm going to try this giant cupcake tutorial out for my sister's bday, thank you for posting!! :)
lovely! i really like it , thank you for this tutorial
lol, it's like one of those small turning tables but for cake and stuff, we call it a lazy susan in Australia :)
The second cake she cut had 4:30 a smiley face on it.
This is awesome! Thank you!
Thankies for this video! its helped me out majorly!! X
Having bought my metal pan before seeing your video... Have you considered doing one for those of us without the silicone?
I imagined it all the way until you took the crumb coated cake out of the pan. At that point, I'm supposing I'll need to pop mine into the fridge so that I can place my hand on the top icing while I turn the pan upside down? Thanks for tutorials. :D
For the people asking what a lazy Susan is... It's a turntable :)
your cupcakes r amazing I would come and steal that cupcake but I live in England!!!!!!
So do you have to have a separate batch of icing for the crumb coat? Basically, one batch for the crumb coat, and another for decorating the cake with?
Thanks!
How long will this last sitting out?
Please do a tutorial on how to make a vanilla cake mix. PLEASE!!:D
i think she does it with the bottom half so that it fits into the chocolate case more easily
Could you give me the ingredients on how to make the actual cup cake please love everything you do for us thanks very much love Marina from Newcastle upon Tyne England x
How would you remove the cupcake in the last step from a metal tin?
You cannot do this in metal
You are so Awesome :D
Super - Super video!! I actually wrote a week ago asking for some decorating ideas for a special 'Birthday-Christmas Cake' for my nephew. I like the idea of a giant cup cake, but it's too small on its own - any ideas for adding it onto a cake somehow....? Please help - it's his birthday next week!! Thanks again!!
Sooooo much buttercream
thanks
I love all your videos
I love your videos, they have helped me so much with my baking, I am doing a giant cupcake for my daughters birthday party, and was wondering how far in advance you can get make it? As it's obviously not the same morning job:-) thank you
That look so good :D
Question: Do you have to put the two halves of the cake together before I
is this served like a regular cake like slicing it for each person or do u eat it whole? i love baking and i never crossed the giant cupcakes
Yes, she did that and stuck them together with buttercream
Your amazing!
I love your accent :)
oh my god. ur ideas r so cool. go Aussies!!!
Omg i could eat one of those all by my self =P
If I want to make marble cake pops, would I use chocolate and vanilla cake and then make a normal cake pop?
I actually think you should be an air hostess for some reason! you remind me of the ones I have seen and heard on aeroplanes!! :)
