The best thing about this trick is that it will work with any drone that has a subject tracking feature!
Well illustrated, Jake. Thanks for the instruction. Cheers from Wisconsin.
My pleasure!
This is awesome! I’ve never really used Active Track and thought it was a lot more confusing.
Awesome! Have fun with it
As always, excellent!!! 👍👍👍 Thanks Jake!

Thanks Robert!
1:02 beautiful green effect bottom right
Thanks! Some people hate lens flares but I think they can be quite beautiful!
@@JakeSloan I Love it!
Thanks for an very instructive episode! I'm doing a lot of wet sport (kayak sailing) and have not found a way to film myself that works well. Any sugestions?
The only way I have been able to film myself kayaking has been using active track and keeping an eye on where the drone is vs trees on the shore etc. It works well but I do wish I had someone to fly the drone for me and film lol
@@JakeSloan Yes agree to that, thanks.
Spotlight mode rocks.
yes it does!
Hi Jake. Greetings from Australia. I’m a former pro photographer recently acquiring Mavic 3 Classic. Your vid left me a little confused. At the 1.57 min mark you select the rock and then proceed to move the RHStick to circle the rock without swiping up up Active Track or selecting POV. Am I missing something here? Don’t you need to swipe up Active Track then select subject? What is the correct procedure. Cheers. 👍
I always forget about using these. Great Video Jake
I don't always use them but sometimes they really come in handy!
Wow, what a secret and amazing tip.
Thanks I hope it was helpful!
Jake, thank you for your tips and trick for using the tracking functions on the DJI drones. All of the tips covered can be used by pilots from beginners to experts. Nicely Done!
You're so welcome
Thanks, Jake. An excellent job as always! I have used this with real estate and trucks, and it works great. Have a wonderful safe day! 😀
thanks you too Michael
Good tips. I often fall into trying to do stuff manually when Dji gives you the tools to do so much more.
agreed
Thanks Master 👍
You are very welcome
Thanks for this great tip. Just got my new Air 2 S so this was timely for me. I learned on the Mavic Mini but the Air 2 S just made my life a whole lot better. Thanks for all your helpful videos. 😀👍
awesome!
Cool video. I would be interested in knowing how to take better shots of moving cars. Especially how when you are driving the car as well.
Well legally in the USA you are not allowed to fly a drone while also operating another moving vehicle so do what I do. Have a friend drive for you while you pilot the drone in sparsely populated areas 😁
Thanks!!
No problem!
Great video as usual! And great to see Whittier, where my brother keeps his boat. Slightly off-topic, but your flight around the rock was 10.5' over the water. With all the scary "my drone fell out the air when flying low over water" stories related to the downward facing sensor misreading water, what's your experience and recommendation? Obviously you're willing to fly lower than some recommendations for a minimum 20-30' above water. :-)
that happens usually when people aren't paying close attention to their drone flying close to the water and aren't able to react fast enough to make the drone go up. It's almost never actually the drone just falling out of the sky into the water
Any news whether this feature will be available on DJI Mini 3 Pro?
the mini 3 pro has active track so yes it is available
Hello Jake, what sticks are you using with your RC controller?
I use ones from Hanatora
Many thanks Jake - did I miss something? All of your examples are talking about Active Track, but your screen recordings show that you are using POI? Confused! :)
Are you sure it's not spotlight that he's chosen?
@Flowy's Adventures oh yeah. My bad, a typo. Still confused though! 😕
@@grumpyclark I’ll just go out and practice using all options
use them all lol
@@JakeSloan lol
Getting that GPS point, vs a visual subject is the secret sauce to steady shots! I was able to get a 5000 ft. Diameter orbit getting a GPS point of interest and we are talking smooth operator here. The drone, not me!
The GPS point is key!! 5000’ is HUGE lol I bet it looked sweet
Hi Jake Sloan
I bought DJI air 2S
It only let me record for two minutes, and says memory full already i put 16GB SD card in there, and even with that you only let me record for couple of minutes, and says SD card full
Can you help me with this one I can’t figure out
cheers
