If they changed the middle section to two radar towers I think that'd actually be sick. On Small maps you can have a single radar, and on large maps on on both the West and East side of the midfield. Then you reduce the sensor ranges to only detect in those 4 quadrants. So if you own both "Xel'Nagas" (lol) you have sensor data on cappers in 3 of the 4 quadrants of the field. It could even give you speed data on the capper, or the capper's cooldown status on blink etc. Then it's more accessory than the current 'castle' mode of the midfield outposts
I just started playing a few days ago and have been loving the game. That said, I was VERY confused with the flag detonation timer. So I start digging through discord and find people talking about the rabbit issue... As a new player that hasnt played enough of these games to really offer much insight on what to add to the game, gut gud. Chase the flag carrier down. Thats fun. Being punished because you have the objective that your supposed to have is not fun. Also I was really bummed out when I got into the playtest to see honorbomb removed. I had heard about it and was stoked to try. Oh well I guess.
The shocklance was added in T2; no counterpart in T1. A subtle indicator of a valid, in-range target might be nice. If not done carefully, though, it may make it too easy to hit. I did prefer that in T2 it didn't fire at all if there wasn't a target in range; you just got that dryfire *clank* sound. As it is here, it may not be obvious that it's not hitting the target and players may think it's just not doing any damage for some reason.
wait is ball mode now gone forever? wtf i was so pumped to do 4 man ranked with my friends, what a total let down, will probably only play the game casually now
I just don't see what the point in making this game is yet. It seems like they're just all over the place in terms of design. I get it that they're in alpha and they're just trying things, but I honestly don't know who they think will want to play this. If it's Tribes vets, they're way off from what is wanted. I just don't see anything that appeals to the FPS crowd. I can see honor ball being a mildly successful rocket league style game, but very casual. I think the harsh truth about a tribes style game is that nobody is going to put in the time to learn the mechanics unless there's a legit competitive mode, and what they have so far is completely alienating that crowd. Every change seems to lower the skill ceiling, make the game easier, make it less fun to be a skilled skier (slowing down, rabbit restrictions), or force you into playing a class in a way that you don't want to play, limiting emergent and creative gameplay. I had some hopes a month ago that this company could turn the train around, but my hopes are dwindling.
I love when people doompost like this while talking out your asses. Who are these vets you are talking about most people I see love can't seem to stop playing it. I mean game is going to have focus on 7v7 competitive at first so and me being part of that crowd I'm pretty ecstatic about it. Yes you need to raise skill floor there is no reason for players to use arcane arts just to ski. What kind of emergent game play do you expect this is not EvE....
Denuvo Anti-Cheat and Denuvo DRM are different products. While the company is still shit, the history you are describing mainly (and I use mainly here as I cannot remember seeing any criticism towards the anti-cheat product) comes from the DRM.
@@AlsoGreth Yeah if you add a product from a company whos name is so tainted that people reading patch notes go up in flames without even reading properly, maybe you should have a small disclaimer which states that the thing you added is a different product from the universally hated one. It could have been a parenthesis right after and people wouldn't have gone up in flames about it 😅 Anyway, I didn't feel the massive performance hit I did in Doom before they removed the DRM, so to me it might actually be fine! The big question for me is if it is actually good as an anti cheat. My money is on no, but I'm happy to be wrong here!

not a fan of the new map. the recent Dangerous Crossing remake seems great, why not recreate more classic maps like Canyon Crusade, Stonehenge, Damnation etc?
Why is everything in this game designed to fuck over flag carriers? Zeus just strikes you down for playing the game, wtf is this game design? The reason for doing long jumps is because defence gets free disk jumps and light has fuck all health, your route has to be perfect because you have nothing to help you survive because having the flag disables your packs. Rabbiting sucks, but its as bad as it is because the flag stands are too close to each other, its quicker and easier to use your free disk jump to go e-grab than it is to kill the flag carrier so stand offs happen constantly. It feels like Prophesy is just flipping switches in reaction to the current state of the game and hoping to get lucky without ever thinking through what the consequences of their decisions will be.
With every asinine patch prophecy releases I am more and more confident this game will tank hard. I hope it tanks, it might be the only thing that will cause prophecy to extract their heads from their own assholes. I don't think I've ever seen a company make so many braindead stupid design choices. Also, the armor design is trash. You can barely tell the armor types apart when they're standing still let alone moving.
my eye twitches at the tube magazine/pump on the *2-shot double-barrel* shotgun, whilst the TA db shotie was already *break action*

whoops, goes to show that I'm definitely not a T1 vet. Ah well.

when you said that I was thinking the same thing.. as a long time never-played-tribes person I can't believe they're adding xel naga watchtowers
What Rivals is missing is the Missle Turret. This would make gens important and slow down cappers.
If they do that they will have to give people flares...

There is so much instant hate, and so little information.
This is where a bit more patchnote could really help.

Hey Greth please make a reaction video with your thoughts on T3 going into Early Access.
it is done... And it's 50 minutes.
