I love to imagine the command briefing. "This looks like a prime spot to set up operations" "But, tovarisch, there is already an enemy base there" "Not for long."
That was expertly done I must say, not that I'd expect anything less! Would love to see you explain to 2 missing Tech centers to Stalin afterwards "Ah yes comrade Stalin, I am well aware of the top secret information contained in those buildings however I met this Swiss property developer who explained the island was prime real estate so I sold them to him for 1500 rubles so he could build a holiday camp on the plots of land" :)
When I did this mission I went over the whole island with my tanks, to kill all enemies before capturing the first tech center. One of the tanks decided the Chronosphere was in the way and went on to shoot it... "Mission Failed".
Lol oops. Happened to me when a Cruiser I built decided to takes pot shots at the flak guns on the island. Needless to say the Chronosphere didn't fare well...
Funny enough on hard you aren't given much choice but to get that MCV through even if you aren't looking to do a speed run. Those 3 Medium tanks are near enough too much for your tanks; even a light tank is deadly to a heavy tank on the higher difficulty. My tanks just got annihilated when I tried to take them on. Had to wait till I had a barracks before I could deal with them properly.
Hate this mission with a passion, back on the old ps1 and even now replaying it. The lack of resources and forces and placement of them at the beginning is a huge pain in the arse.
This mission was when I completely lost it back at 1996. Hence I dished out RA editor to give my heavy tanks 16 inch naval guns and migs with speed faster than spy planes and infinite ammo to streamroll everything in the map.
at this point I wonder what happened to Von Esling and Starvos after alliance defeat in the Europe...Did they at least manage to escape to America? Or were they captured and met their demise at the hands of tribunal of People's court for warcrimes...?
Lol, not how I did it, i removed the allied forces entirely before setting up the base, and captured the allied tech centre at the bottom left of the map for the GPS, then destroyed the beach base, before wiping out the cruisers and capturing the centre island
I don't think I'm in low power a lot, however they did change low power in one of the patches so that things don't take almost forever to complete as they did in the original game.
I love the beginning of the mission. The small quiet allied base and BLAAAM...
Wish I could use those aircraft during the mission!

Aaw the pain... I feel you
Happened to me to. I was thinking of saving at that point as well, funnily enough.
Allied turrets: NO YOU CAN'T JUST DRIVE THROUGH OUR DEFENSIVE LINE
Soviet commander: haha mcv go vroom

I hate how easy you make it seem. I spent SO MUCH TIME on this mission. Bleeeeh.

Stu to the Allies when he speedruns: 0:23
My butthole clinched up when your tanks almost destroyed the tech center lol
You know things are getting real when you bring the ore miner.

wow... good work
There's other way by capturing allied naval shipyard and destroying enemy defense with destroyers, but it could take more time.
9:50 that was close
You brought the harvesters to the assault with you!!!!
they make for great bullet sponges :)
@@StuGames this is a good point. As long as you have a couple back at base still to keep the credits rolling......

Stalin: Im surrounded by idiots

Is there a reason why the three light tanks don't rush your base in this playthrough?
One question, what's with the building and selling? Like why build the tech center and sell it again? Also the radar dome?
to unlock new technology, don't need the buildings afterwards!
Whats the purpose to build multiple sub pens, multiple refinery and so on? Like multiple barracks?
faster production!
Did they change the beginning? I remembered they used nukes to destroy the allied base at the beginning of this Mission.
Doesn't look like. Recording of the run made by RC1985 made 5 years ago also shows planes destroying this base.
Patch notes are out, Hard mode got easier!! Time to restart :D
only Tiberian Dawn got easier, Red Alert is the same :)
interesting that switzerland renounced their neutral status and joined the alliance...
Seems to me that you're able to build buildings/units at normal speed despite having low power for the majority of the mission? How is this?
I don't think I'm in low power a lot, however they did change low power in one of the patches so that things don't take almost forever to complete as they did in the original game.
@@StuGames ah ok! That explains it. I'm playing the original RA1, where low power causes construction to be debilitatingly slow.
>Captures tech center
Chronosphere: I've decided that Imma go jihad.
I thought, what was he doing taking that harvester on a ship transport. I imagine this kind of prioritizing would come in handy in a real army.
Efficiency 150%
That was class 😮
Jesus Christ 😂
credits stolen! how can this be a proper speedrun?)
