  • Jigs and Spinnerbaits! Wide Open Bass Fishing! Come along for an awesome evening on the water as we fish shallow, flooded brush for aggressive fish! These are the conditions we dream about!
    This afternoon we're fishing a great big pond. The fish get a lot of fishing pressure but with the high water they've moved into shallow cover and Matt has a plan to get them out. Watch it unfold as he makes bait adjustments until he dials in a non-stop bass catching pattern!
    Below you'll find links to the exact baits Matt was using throughout the afternoon. We've also included the colors, rigging components, as well as the rods and reels he was fishing with. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

    I mean no disrespect. Tim might want to read this comment. My Grandson wanted to watch fishing videos. I let him watch one of the buyers guide videos You do together. He made the comment that stuck with Me. Matt was describing the action of chatterbait trailers. As always Matt was all in giving the description. My Grandson said dadgum that guy is a karate talker. His hands are fast. Karate talker fits perfectly for Matt. There are some good UA-cam fishing channels but You guys are the measuring stick for the rest. Plus pretty good self defense training. Nothing but love and respect for what You guys do and how You do it.

    We went fishing on the 25th of April, we tried chatter baits, senko, rooster tail, jig for crappie, rattle trap, plopped, small rattle trap. We caught one small bass, I hooked a brim in the eye with the plopper and lost one. We could see them swimming moving in the water every where! What were we doing wrong, they just wouldn’t bite. The water was a little clear. We tried White, we tried greens and brown, we tried pumpkin seed with a shartrue,tail. We are trying to learn to catch bass. I watch your channel all the time. I appreciate your advice. We don’t have a depth finder, we just fished the banks.

      That's definitely part of it, but also because the larger line diameter is easier to manage on a baitcaster than smaller diameter braided line is. 50 to 65 lb braid spools more evenly and doesn't kink or knot up as easily or "dig in" like the smaller diameter braid does. 50# and 65# are both pretty interchangeable to me, but I'll never use lighter braided line than that

    What leader connection knot do you use on a casting setup?

    • @tacticalbassin
      @tacticalbassin  Рік тому +2

      A modified blood knot with 9 loops each direction.

    I know people think about big fat lazy giant largemouth, but those big largemouth can move scary fast when they want to. Caught a 9 lber last year that had to change direction for me to catch up and set the hook.

    Great time fishing, I watch you all the time. I do have a question, you both talk about sunglasses but you show and don’t mention anything about sunglasses for the fisherman that wears glasses all the time.

  • @stevenmulholand4296

    The only problem with the sunglasses is they don’t make for people who wear glasses. clip-on or wear oversized to work over glasses.

    Difference between fisherman and me…you catch 30 fish in the day and I’m still looking to catch my 3rd. I guess there are different lures to use at different times?
    Where can I get this info? 😂

    Its a pond. It doesn't matter what you throw. You could throw a hotdog on a hook and pond fish will hit it.

    • @tacticalbassin
      @tacticalbassin  Рік тому +1

      Not all ponds are created equal. This one gets fished and it 100% matters.

      @@tacticalbassin makes for a good bait selling video but I've fished stocked heavily fished ponds b4 and they will hit absolutely any bait you throw, especially if food is scares.
