- So the Instagram Builders challenge changed their name this season to the Builders Challenge and put forth these plans for an end table with wireless charging. It is a great test of your woodworking skills and they present the challenge with three tiers from beginners, to intermediate, to professional. I entered in the intermediate category
I started with some locally harvested and sawn spalted poplar. I decided to accent the poplar with some epoxy in a unique way. I reached out to a fellow woodworker on Instagram that has more experience Andrew Joos bit.ly/jooswoodworks GO GIVE HIM A FOLLOW! He suggested using this Total Boat 2 part epoxy : bit.ly/totalboat It added a really cool accent to the piece and was really easy to use especially for a beginner project.
Wood Magazine graciously sponsored the build and supplied the plans for this awesome table in which we added a hidden wireless charger.

Great design and execution. That salted poplar looks great. It’s very different from anything else.
