Why does life seem so hard and unfair for some people . She has had life so rough. She is literally a product of everything she was born into. It almost seems like her current position in life isn’t necessarily her choice.
All jokes aside, morally and psychologically you should never open doors that you aren’t qualified to close. When you have people bring up these memories and pain stories, they may binge on drugs or go into depression to try and forget those memories again. I know first hand about trying to forget when people keep reminding me. Work on going to school and getting qualified to be able to properly address these stories and help close these doors without causing people to spiral after they leave your interviews.

Depression meds seem to make my problems even worse.

You would think it would open up old wounds and have them "running for the races". It's like selling your soul to the devil all over again, just for a few dollars 😢 and how could that be helping THEM
