Thank you for taking me with you to the low country-it is beautiful. Thats why if you ask any South Carolinian we will tell you that this is Gods Country. I truly enjoy you videos.
The Rosebank Farms stand was stunning. And I love Sidi Limehouse's philosophy on life. He is indeed the richest person on John's Island. I visited Angel Oak and on that morning nobody was there. It was magical, as the low country is.
I got hooked on the low country when I read Dorothea Benton Frank's book Sullivan's Island. I became a fan of all things in that area via her magical vivid stories. All her books are named after islands in the area too. Check it out!

Thanks for sharing my hometown, have many photos of the Angel Oak tree with me as a child and also many of my mom as a child. So beautiful the low country and the Charleston area.
That tree is growing (so old)that its arms had to just rest on and into the ground- beautiful!🌳 I noticed that in the St John vicinity, you can take in the serenity and beauty of nature.🐦🍃🌅 I love the way Lily jumps into your arm to go out for a walk!🤭 And also her little yoga stretches- so cute!🐕 The cherry tomatoes looked so amazing! 🍅And your meal looks great!🍗🥗🥤Take care!💚💖

So happy you got to see Angel Oak. I watch your channel every day and was hoping you'd make your way to the island for this visit. Safe travels and love from a fan in Moncks Corner,SC!
What a beautiful video💖 Thank you so much for sharing! Ever since I was a child, I've always picked the places I settle to camp, to read, to live, by how the trees 'talk' to me. Of course, I live in a part of the world with some of the oldest and tallest trees and as a child I thought everyone else did too. Now I just feel sorry for people who don't know that feeling of closing your eyes and listening to the waves of the ocean and the sounds of trees creaking as they rock back and forth. I just love the places you take us too!💗
Hi Amber. I'm really having a great time just traveling with you and seeing all the different sites and geography and people. I really love the Carolinas I mean where you are right now in this video is absolutely gorgeous. And I love all the water really magnificent. I love that you are story chasing. I'm so glad to have found your Channel and get to travel again through watching your videos. I want to thank you so much for who you are and bringing your adventure and journey to us. That's awesome. Loved the interview with Sidi. I’ll be moving to the friendly south very shortly. I can’t wait to explore more once I’m there. I’m learning a lot about the area from your travels. Stay safe and healthy and happy travels always 🐶👍🏼🚐♥️
Thank God for people like Sidi who take care of the community. That little store reminds me of Mr. Godsy on walton's Mountain. Have you tried the boiled peanuts yet? They are delicious 😋
I really enjoyed the beauty of the trees you featured, just remarkable. Sidi has a very good idea of what makes a life well lived. I agree with your definition of what makes a place charming. Well said.
I knew you’d love the Angel tree! Did you like the ride over the Cooper River bridge? It is so tall and pretty, enjoy your stay in Charleston. My granddaughter lives in Charleston and loves it. Thanks for sharing!
OMGosh that tree was just so so special...what a story she must be able to tell! You meet the most incredible souls in your travels...Sidi is such a treasure. Thank you for sharing :-)
As a Charleston County. LEO (One of the first female patrol officers.) I used to patrol, all the islands, you are showing. I have not finished the video. I wonder if you see the tea plantation? It is on Wadmalaw Island. I was born, in Charleston. I now live across that beautiful bridge, you drove across, up Hwy 17 North. I patrolled those islands, during the 70's. There wasn't even a bathroom to use, from Rantowles Creek, to the County line. My bladder took a beating those years. Mostly no backup. I was on my own. I drove through a tornado, on James Island. And, I worked midnight shift, during Hurricane David. Pitch dark. A huge Oak tree fell across the road, but I had to get further down the road, on John's Island. Since the Coroner could not get out there, during the hurricane, I had to pronounce a very old lady ... deceased. I had to try to drive under that downed tree. My single blue light got scraped, but I made it through. I could not find the shack, so asked EMS, by radio, to turn on their emergency lights. It was a sad time. But, someone had to do it. I got to know the residents on those islands, and South on Hwy 17. Especially the ones who had horses. I used to bring them carrots, to chew on, while I petted them. The people were very friendly. It was not built up, at all. I drove over there, before Covid. I was shocked by the growth! I miss the old days. There is a farm owned by the Ravenel family, on John's Island. It is the oldest working farm, on the Island. They started the farm, in the 1600's. Too bad you were not told about them. They deliver produce, and more, all over the county. And, they work the Farmer's Markets. Sidi Limehouse. I knew him when.... His family had a store, at the foot of the old Ashley bridge. You have brought back many pleasant memories. Thanks!
AbundantlyClear Thanks for sharing your story. It means so much to me. 😊 You brought tears to my eyes hearing your recall your memories, good and bad. Thank you so much for your service to the public and being there for those in need when nobody else wanted or could. 💕

Love that guy and your interview with him, he’s so right , is is the richest man in love, nature, kindness and kinda funny too, glad you found him to talk to, I would love to go shopping at his fresh veg. and fruit market, thanks Amber,
I was born, and live, in the area. I have had strokes, so I may have forgotten. But, I do not remember what I suppose you are writing about. Not at that tree.
Excellent interview! Beautiful market, wish I could taste those tomatoes, haven’t had a good one since living in Michigan. Keep the dailies coming, love ‘em Amber. Nothing like the low country. 🌳🌞
I just discovered solo RV lifestyle, am from upstate SC, and now live in metro New Orleans. Shame on you! You keep me up till 3am watching your videos and envisioning a future as a solo Rv'er. :-) I need a 12-step program OR an alarm clock bcz I have been awake at 3a thinking it was only midnight 3 times in the last week just watching solo rv video's - mostly yours! I am just SICK that you passed within miles of me only a couple of months ago. Johns Island is my most favorite place on earth, and I have shopped at that very farmer's market! Loved your interview w/the owner/farmer. I love, love, LOVE your reaction to the trees, Spanish moss, and houses on Johns Island. (RE bugs in the houses: not so much as you might think!!. We have a 'baby' Angel Tree in Old Mandeville on the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain across from NOLA proper. If you EVER double back this way, I sure hope you will give me a head's up and let me show you around my side of the lake! But! Don't come between May 15 to at least Sept 15th. I call this 'land' Bayou LaBlowTorch for a reason - makes John's Island heat/humidity look like a 'dry' heat! Re interior bugs here in the bayou: termite swarms are NO JOKE. We have to keep our exterior lights off during those weeks along with any lights near windows or we will be swallowing a mouthful during swarm season. I think the Charleston area is about as bad. Even more fun are finding a lizard and frog in my house. A mouse and a 2 squirrels in my walls at differen times. So far, no snakes, but my neighbor had one last year this time. I'll be packed up and moved THAT DAY if/when it happens to me! So far, I'm still sick in love w/ the bayou even tho we call summer our 'hibernation season'. Safe travels. So SORRY I missed you when you made your swing down US 90/190. I am sure you were only 15min from my house at least once! Thanks so much for sharing all your tips, tricks, and adventures! You are so inspiring to old ladies like me! (63yo) OH PS - I also lived on OBX (Avon on Hatteras Island), so I loved those videos too. BTW - your back/adbo pain: Please read up on gallbladder issues. Especially in light of the morning down here in the bayou when you got sick out of the blue after eating that orange. Hope both were just freak things, but the gas like pain in the area you described that came on suddenly and ebbed away sure sounded like what I went through w/ my gallbladder! (((((
Hi Amber---love your "story chasing". I have roots in SC and am enjoying the info. I just have to say that just because a place is "urban" does not make it a bad place Just because a place is "rural" or has a "slow pace of life" does not make it better than a city. The energy , productivity and finances of the cities is used to support many of these these rural and small towns. I suppose because I live in a city, sometimes I feel you are looking down on us city dwellers.
Gushing over a quaint little town isn’t commentary on those of us who live in major metros. She visits places that often get ignored by most of us, and even gives people a reason to visit.
@@TravelingSolo Hi traveling Solo---I hear what your saying. Just that it seems when she mentions cites, she says it with such disdain, so it just makes me feel a little bad sometimes. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
@@audreyhunter7236 oh, I don’t know about that. Even on this trip she said New Orleans blew her away, she fell in love with Savannah GA, etc. and those are not tiny rural areas.
I am always amazed how others are entertained by others horrible experiences. This tree is a beautiful magnificent gift of nature but used to take the lives of so many.
My great grandfather was named Sidney. His nickname was Sidi. Occasionally just 'Sid' (pronounced 'Side'). Only other time I've ever heard that name. He was also from South Carolina.
@@DarrylParkerNH my brother in law lives in summerville. I didlike foley beach. there used to be a oyster house on of the islands, it looked old and run down, but they caught the oysters in the morning and cooked them to serve at night. the food was really good. we hit the firefly and the live oak at the same time.
I found out why Amazon sends so many packages. I have used Amazon since 1998 and everything ordered came in one package back then (when you chose that feature for least # of packages). Amazon has gotten SO large that they have fulfillment centers across the US. So, your package comes from the fulfillment center (or private vendor) where that product is stored. At least that was the answer I got when I was lucky enough to get someone on the phone from Amazon last year. By the way, if you are wondering why I have been commenting on several of your past videos….I am doing a marathon of watching your videos. I am on day 7💜
I have been watching your adventures for a few weeks now. Thinking about trading my Toyota Sienna for a Budget Class B. I live in Texas now, but spent a few high school years on John's Island and in Charleston. The Angel Oak is unforgettable.
And they don't like people from Ohio and "up north" moving to the Charleston area. I was told that over and over again by the locals when we lived there. They love the visitors' money though.
The south is special but you’re also smack in the middle of where some of America’s darkest atrocities occurred. These beautiful homes and acres of land....the stories behind them unfortunately aren’t always so charming. It’s important not to forget that part of the history of that area.
I’m not trying to diminish anything about history or the atrocities that happened in this area. I happen to decide to look forward and speak about the positive things and that’s positive changes are happening. If it’s relevant for me to talk about the historical past I will but otherwise I’m just showing my experience. Also if we’re talking about dark times, if you’re living here in the United States then this entire country is dark because many of the Native American Indians were killed and put onto reservations by white settlers who destroyed their lands destroyed their people, and destroyed their way of life. So no matter where we explore in this country or where we choose to build a home, I guarantee you, there has been death, destruction, and blood. It is an unfortunate part of our history.
As an aside, she's already covered this in previous video comments....she's very aware of how much of that part of the country was built (even before everyone decided to keep reminding her of it...)
I was mentioning this more so for the viewers who may not be as aware of the deep history steeped in this area. And since you mentioned it....as a tribal member of the Cherokee, I’d hope if you went to my home, the EBCI Qualla Boundary, you’d mention the history.

So nice of you. Thank you!
As always..... Such a great video..... the tree = Nothing Short Of SPECTACULAR!!!! Just WOW!!!! 👏🌻🐝
I have been to the tree, also the tea plantation is cool
Great video....I love that area as well. Was there several years ago. You do such a great job...
Marcella Raplee Thank you very much! 😊🙏
We would love to have one of those Oak Trees in our yard , Beautiful 👍 and I would have to say that area of South Carolina has great Character!
That tree was amazing. I Enjoyed your vlog. Enjoy your Lilly, I lost my Lilly on Friday from stage four cancer.
So beautiful 🤩
I hope you got to drive through and visit Beaufort, SC
Beautiful and peaceful island
Oh my!! At a loss for words with this trip.Breathtaking thanxxx again Amber❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you for sharing ☺️ Amazing Amber!
Excellent interview! Beautiful market, wish I could taste those tomatoes, haven’t had a good one since living in Michigan. Keep the dailies coming, love ‘em Amber. Nothing like the low country. 🌳🌞
Nothing like a John's Island tomato and mayo samitch, with salt and Peppa.
Lorene Noe Thank you very much! 😊🙏
Your videos are truly heartfelt! Thank you
Wow, thank you!
Wow! That is the coolest tree ever!
I hear your "charming" to be graceful, simple and elegantly comfortable looking.
Sidi definitely has his priorities straight.
We should all be so lucky.
The angel tree was so BEAUTIFUL 😍Love that area you were in
Thank you so much!
This tree is beautiful. Amber you picked a wonderful place to show. God's creation . God makes everything so perfect.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it Ann. It really is a work of art.
Awesome guy.. enjoy the video
Susan Ray Thank you very much! 😊🙏
Old sidi is correct about his definition of being rich 😊
Thank you for sharing Sidi with us, great interview. Loved this video. (didn’t like the 3 in video ads though) 😊
It’s hard to tell how UA-cam is going to distribute the ads or if they’re even going to be shown sometimes… Gotta make a living though.
@@TravelingSolo I was thinking same thing. Ads are needed for creators to make $.
@@OmertaDon I pay for YT premium so I never see them anyway lol. Creators still get credit, though.
(63yo)
OH PS - I also lived on OBX (Avon on Hatteras Island), so I loved those videos too.
(((((
Beauty abounds in this country. We just aren’t lucky enough to go and see it. That’s why we tune in to your channel. Thanks.
It still is a magnificent gift. Man took lives, not the tree.
My great grandfather was named Sidney. His nickname was Sidi. Occasionally just 'Sid' (pronounced 'Side'). Only other time I've ever heard that name. He was also from South Carolina.
Thank you for transporting me to South Carolina this morning. The trees were worth the video, especially the Grande Ole Lady. Huggs for Lily.
If I can remember correctly there is a distillery nearby the oak tree, my brother in law lives in charleston and took us here
@@DarrylParkerNH my brother in law lives in summerville. I didlike foley beach. there used to be a oyster house on of the islands, it looked old and run down, but they caught the oysters in the morning and cooked them to serve at night. the food was really good. we hit the firefly and the live oak at the same time.
Now that I know that you know Tiffany, she speaks highly of you so I am going to subscribe to you Blessings💖💖✝
I am on day 7💜
Love Edisto! Are there paved roads in the town? Is Edisto on St. John’s island? Nice video Amber!🙌
Edisto is actually in the adjoining county. It is an island on it's own.
@@abundantlyclear ...thank you!
I have been watching your adventures for a few weeks now. Thinking about trading my Toyota Sienna for a Budget Class B. I live in Texas now, but spent a few high school years on John's Island and in Charleston. The Angel Oak is unforgettable.
Lynn Rivera That sounds good! 😊 Good luck in your adventures and thank you so much for watching.
Love the tree
Back Country Living just a day in our life It's definitely a pretty special place. Thanks for watching! 💕🙏
Limehouse produce is the largest produce distributor in the Charleston area. Rosebank goes back a long time
Do you ever have bears visit your van at nighttime? Any concerns?
So glad you made it to the Angel Oak!! ♥️
Yes! Thank you!
What a great interview and include Ohio who like to move there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adventures 👍🏻❤😊
And they don't like people from Ohio and "up north" moving to the Charleston area. I was told that over and over again by the locals when we lived there. They love the visitors' money though.
I can't believe u missed it... U didn't notice...lol
I haven't read any other comments...but at 2:01, has anyone else noticed the "elephant" with the long trunk?
Ive been on Johns island my entire life and I didn’t get any interview huh 🤔
