Valheim & The Great Pyramid Build - How did they do it?

  • This is a 32x32x32 black marble pyramid you can build in vanilla Valheim. This is the tallest you can go from flat ground level. I have another pyramid with the actual 1/4 spires for a peak but it has to be a few levels lower as the 1/4 spires need much more support. I plan to work on building one even taller than this by manipulating the ground level around the supports to see how tall you can actually build a pyramid. Someone else also noted maybe using a pine tree in the center as anything attached to that is grounded, so I may play with that idea when I get some time.
    Material requirements
    584 - Wood
    292 - Iron
    9428 - Black Marble
    20 - Yggdrasil Wood
    10 - Black Metal
    5 - Black Core
    5 - Refined Eitr
    A pyramid of this size can also be seen on Jiroc's Runelands server where it is my temporary base until I finish my other mountain side / cliff base.
    As you can see from the video there is plenty of room in the pyramid for everything to be built as well as having multiple levels above the lower level if needed or wanted.
    If anyone has any ideas for similar builds they would like to see let me know and I can work on them or come with how to build them. I am working on a build video showing all of the maximum heights of different materials and what can be done to build even higher, as well as populating an excel sheet for quick reference. Hopefully I can get that done in the next couple weeks.

    Of course, the Egyptians just used debugmode!

    For those who want to create this. I also suggest to use vertical and horizontal iron beam bar on the sides until it support the top. That way you have space in the middle and put anything you like

    I built a similar pyramid to this that had a 34x34 base but probably the same height due to the same limitations. Had to stop short of the peak by a couple layers. I increased support by having big elevated sections of ground near the corners that I supported beams from, though I probably could’ve been more efficient with the beams and maybe actually reached the peak. Either way it’s a very fun build though pretty time consuming cause of all the marble

      I built one where you can get the top 1/4 pieces to work as a point, but I think it needs to be maybe 3 levels lower, and i only needed the center pillars to hold them up. I have a new one I was modifying where I don't use the pillars and iron wood beams but use the metal grates and it seems to work hat I can make the big heigh wihtout pillars, but hiding the iron in the walls, which seemed like ti wouldn't work based on some height restraints, but im trying to figure out exactly the constraint. The 1/4 pieces though only work at a certain heigh and it is lower than what the large corner pieces can handle. Hopefully I can get a quick update video this weekend of the new pyramid without pillars.

    You don't need all those center pillars can use iron floors and walls on the sides to increase strength

    • @tjstengel
      @tjstengel  Рік тому +7

      The center pillars are required, mainly for the top part. Using the iron floors / walls will be too far to hold the top up. I made sure of how high I could make the center top section first before building any of the rest of the pyramid. Now some of the angle pillars in sets of 3 I might be able to get rid of using iron walls / floors in the walls but I still don't think that part would work. I did build another smaller pyramid (I've built like 5 of these tring to see how big I can actually make one) with the 1/3 spires so its an actual pyramid but it has to be a few rows lower for those to work. I may make a video or post the list I have of how high you can go with iron, walls, iron walls, etc. Tried to see how big something can be made.

      @@tjstengelit doesn't. I build same pyramid and use iron beam bar on the side to support the top. That way you have much space in the center

    How big could you make it if you used one of those stone pillars to support the middle of it?

    • @tjstengel
      @tjstengel  Рік тому +1

      The 4 middle columns are as tall as you can go and still support the 4 top pieces. I actually started with that part of it to see how high I could make the middle / top before I built the sides. Basically tested the height until the pieces failed to hold and then worked down from there. I have a world where I show how high you can go with pieces and with iron enforced pieces. I need to make a video on that since I think that would help people figure out how high they can build.

      @@tjstengel you probably could go a fair bit higher if you used raises terrain as some extra height.

  • @twentius777
    @twentius777 8 місяців тому

    One could just easily raise the earth in the middle like an earth pole, cheesy way for artificially high structures, you could even make do with flimsy wooden materials to make a pyramid.

      I did build this on Jirocs Runelands and had to get the marble. Which, is t as bad as it sounds. I carry a stonecutter with me and destroy mines / towers with it. Quick way to get marble. This was just more of a quick “how to” video.
