- Remember that time when The Rx Bandits were guests on JBTV and performed their hit song “Decrescendo” in all of its progressive ska-punk style glory? Although the band has gone through many changes since their formation 1995, during the height of Orange County’s Ska-punk scene, the lead singer an guitarist Matt Embree and drummer Christopher Tsagakis have kept Rx Bandits going strong all these years later. With a career of over 8 studio albums, (most recently in 2014 with Gemini, Her Majesty, [Mash Down Bablyon Records]) two live albums, and an EP along with festival appearances at Bamboozle, Bonnaroo, and Coachella, it is safe to say that the band has more than been around the block. So what better place for this veteran band to play than Chicago’s very own Riot Fest? The band will put on another stellar performance at the fest on Saturday, September 13th. With all the different genres that make up their eclectic sound, their set is must see.
Here are the lyrics so you can sing along:
And I knew that you just couldn’t wait
To put your sharpened dagger in
And watch the look on my face
It was all you were searching for
A picture frame consistent
To being alone
Now we’re content with illusions
And our arm length smiles
Did you get what you wanted
Did you get what you wanted now
This is all that I’m asking
Cause its the love we’re forgetting now
Did you take what you wanted
Did you get what you wanted from me
This is all that I’m asking
This is all that I’m asking you
Oh the years that have all been erased
No superficial shelter could ever replace
And its all you we’re searching for
Another adequate replacement
To walk through your door
We’re content with illusions
And our downhill eyes
Did you get what you wanted
Did you get what you wanted now
This is all that I’m asking
Cause its the love I’m forgetting now
Did you get what you wanted
Did you take what you wanted from me
This is all that I’m asking
Yeah this is all that I’m asking
Have you ever felt what it means to be truly alone?
Stop and think right now
Have you ever been alone?
Have you ever felt so cold?
Have you ever felt to truly alone?
So freezing cold?
So find the fakest elation I hope it takes you away
Now I’ve got it all worked out now
Just a memory, picture framed illusion
Did you get what you wanted
Did you get what you wanted now
This is all that I’m asking
Cause its the love I’m forgetting now
Did you get what you wanted
Did you take what you needed from me
This is all that I’m asking
This is all that I’m asking
Did you get what you wanted?
NOW!!!!!!

There’s never going to be another band like this. I feel so blessed to know them.
Everything goes gnar at 2:45 - bassist hits sick offbeat harmonies while playing an opposing rhythm, ride cymbal falls down, drummer drops a stick n his other hand just keeps going.., it's just awesome watching this band work, cuz they're so damn on it.
thank you for everything rx. since 06 07 here
ryan bassinger saw them live in 2004 with reel big fish. their sound was and is so intricate
Fan since '99 here
The first few seconds I was like dude some chick replaced Joe for this show? My bad Joe. Love you
such a great band, killer video!
The music I need.
wooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaah! ...ya!
This is awesome. That is all.
That's one of the more subdued RX performances I've seen (especially the last part of the song). Incredible musically of course, but I guess we're all getting just a little bit older.
I agree ,but it sounded pretty tight tho
I'm glad they hired the horn players to help with the song. Have you heard Decrescendo with no horns? it really need to be included. They helped a bit in the beginning but they are really low energy I really miss Chris Sheets and Steve Borth. I love their Bonnaroo performances. Steve borth was not in them but Chris sheets was and it was amazing. This song is suppose to really end HARD.
horn section.....move a little boys. certainly no borth and sheets. miss the old rxb.....
RxB with horns is the absolute shit
Horns are far too quiet
this aint streetlight xD
@@mpraka I miss Steve Borth and Chris sheets. These horn players are super low energy, but they seemed like nice guys. By the way Steve borth use to be with Link 80.
When was this recorded?
Jon snow on bass
why is the crowd even there? never seen a single person so much as nod a head!?
Damn, this was hard to watch. You can tell they really weren't feeling that crowd and you can't clearly hear a heckler yell "Fuck you!" right as the song ends.
Pretty sure that's CGak yelling at his kit for falling apart on him? Sound like it anyway haha...But yeah the vibe is definitely off regardless. But they're damn professionals and still pull off a damn good performance haha
Who the hell was in charge of sound check. Bass is way to loud. Horns merrily drifted background instead of a power punch. Vocals however are on point tho.
