This video still works as of May 20th, 2024. This guy is a legend. I can't believe this setting isn't turned on by default in Win10. Everybody has a multi core CPU these days. Is there *any* reason to turn it off by default? Come on, Microsoft!
I cannot believe this actually worked as of 2024!!! Had a power outage blip that lasted no longer then A SECOND and next thing I know ALL of my folders are taking forever to load. Took me over an hour of searching (and failing) before I found this and it worked first shot!! Thank you so much for this.
i did this and it worked. ..Fast forward 2 months later it did it again. So i Checked the check box this time because i couldn't uncheck it. Now it's working again. Thanks for the help!
Still works January 2020!!!! I'm honestly surprised. I just assumed my computer had a virus. It wasn't letting me make new folders, rename them, move things into/out of folders, etc. Sooo annoying, and I'm glad to be done with that! Thank you!

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this previously, but the addition of music in the background of this video serves needlessly to making the information you are presenting more difficult to understand. Although we both share a common language, I suspect that you would no doubt find my Canadian accent to be as difficult to understand at times, as I do your Indian accent and the background music contributes considerably to this difficulty. If your intention is to appeal to as wide an audience of English speakers as possible, you might consider omitting background music from future videos.

If you still have this problem make sure that you dont have remote disk links in quick acces. It will slow down explorer all the time and will make right click on explorer in launch menu not working.
This will fix the slowness but break your search capability. Just try to search for something in file explorer, you can’t if you’ll disable windows search. Not a solution, but a sort of workaround.
Currently using windows 8.1 is this working?... I'm quite concern about my pc and afraid that i might do something wrong... Please reply as soon as possible.

Running "sfc / scannow" in the windows command prompt fixed the slow/unresponsive file explorer for me.
I tried it but it did not work for me....although it said repaired coorupted files
After days of trying , this was finally the solution! I was ready to throw away my pc, all because of 'Windows Search'. Thank you so much
