Like their and the crowds reactions to Coulter's jokes when it was painfully obvious her stuff was written by the same people who did jokes for the other roasters as well and the people were reacting to her like that not because "her" material was bad, but simply because of her political opinions. I grew up watching the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts and The Friars Club Roasts. They were cool because those guys really were close friends. They actually hung out. The friars club was so cool because as a member you could walk in sit down and introduce yourself to famous comedians and actors and become friends. The roasts that are being done now are produced and directed like a movie. Theres very little said that wasnt scripted. These people arent close friends. Half dont know each other and prob wont see each other again. It doesnt have the feel of the original roasts. I guess thats what were stuck with.
