my dad transitioned when i was 14 and my sister was 8, our family broke apart - to this day i have trust issues in relationships because of the fact my father chose to get married, have children and then transitioned erasing my father figure in an instant. my heart breaks for my mom most as she was promised a life only to have it stolen from her, i can’t even imagine what it was like for her and it scares me that i could ever experience the same.

I honestly think about you all more so than your own parents. Whenever I hear about an adult man transitioning, I wonder, what about his wife and children? Especially the children?! They are losing a father! I think it's one of the most selfish things a parent can do. Honestly, once children are involved, both parents give up their right to be selfish to look out for the children. Not to say that they can't have selfish moments but nothing compared to pretty much deleting the father they knew. I'm really sorry that happened. And please forgive me when I say this, but he is no man. And I don't mean that in the gendered term, just that he failed to do his duty as a father. He failed to be there for you and your siblings as the father you all deserve. He failed to be the husband that your mother needed. He should have been that man until at least you and your siblings were all out of the house and then he could have brought it up to his wife and try to do it in a better light.

I'm adopted. I'm White. have a white mom. I also have black brothers and sisters that were adopted. Their parents were ghetto gang members who were dangerous, abusive and evil. They threatened in the court room to kill my mom when she was approved for adoption court. My birth parents were evil as well. Adoptive parents are amazing people who save kids who were abused, neglected, rejected or given up by their birth parents. The foster system is rough, could be better, could be better if they stopped pushing away loving parents who want to adopt kids, but its worth it if it means thousands of kids every year get adopted. My black siblings faced racism. Mainly from black people who say they act "white". People need to stop being triggered over everything and stop hating parents for adopting black kids. Doesn't matter what the race of the parents are, as long as they're good people the kids will be alright.

Things to keep in mind about Rowling is that she's been a victim of domestic abuse and sexual assault by a male partner which has fundamentally shaped her opinions on the necessity of women's rights and protections. So what do the male TRAs do? Stalk, harass, doxx, threaten, and sexually harass her. They make very violent and explicit threats of assault, murder, and sexual violence against her as well as attaching photos of their penises with those threats. Really reinforces the point she was making.

I'm not a feminist. I believe in equality though. The way women are being violated by allowing men in their bathrooms, locker rooms has to be terrifying. Not to mention the large amount of women who were assaulted because of these policies. Blaire is one of the few trans people I can respect and understand. Going by internet/tv standards, most trans people seem super insane control freaks who want easy access to women's spaces. Possibly for sinister reasons. I stand by women and women having their own spaces based purely on biology. I may be a 28 year old semi old school conservative, but I can't sit down and shut up when women feel unsafe. As an expecting mother who is part of the queer community with a trans femme best friend I am completely uncomfortable with trans women claiming they are mothers when they have not gone through motherhood. Their experiences will never be the same as a biological woman’s in motherhood and it’s just another thing they are trying to take away from us. Stay in your lane.
I had a friend who used to love JK Rowling but since she voiced her opinions on the bathroom situation, she hates her. My friend came to me (knowing I like Harry Potter) and gave me reasons why I should also hate jk rowling. My former friend showed me what JK had said about trans women and men on Twitter and said she is clearly transphobic. I read it and told my former friend that what she said was NOT transphobic and that biology is right and she is protecting cis (I hate using that word) women from the bathroom. Well then my former friend called ME transphobic bc I agreed with JK and said she never wants to speak to me again. Oh well. I know JK is not transphobic. But my former friend is too "woke" to see what she was actually talking about and referring to. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

I’m adopted from Siberia. I was born in ‘96 and was adopted in ‘98. The orphanage I was in was an old bomb shelter where there were so many of us that we barely survived. My mother said when she was there she was surrounded with people dying on the streets from starvation or disease. They told my parents to just step over them. It was a dictatorship communist country that I was lucky to escape from. They would try to sell us twice . They would steal you back when you were are the airport . My mom ran and got on the plane to Paris and she said she sobbed from relief when they got there. It’s worse than any American ghetto in the poorest parts of America are better than where I came from. We didn’t have money so we boiled potatoes and called it milk it was the only thing we had. I didn’t know how to walk when my mom got me because the nuns didn’t have time to teach us. My mother said I did not cry and it would scare her and make her think I died. I’ve never been a super emotional person. The only time my mom heard me cry was when I met my dad because it was the first time I had seen a man. I love my parents and they are amazing people with such special hearts. Learning how to be an American kid took time but now I have it down. I’m so lucky , I am one of the few survivors who are loved and taken care of by amazing parents. When people complain about the government and say we should be communists I get infuriated and these dumb Americans have no idea what true oppression, homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, body shaming, mental and physical warfare . So if you hate America I will buy your ticket to Siberia.

As a 61 year old, straight, Christian woman, well I try to be, BUT I love Blaire White. I can accept her as she is, and who she was. She is the first trans to completely change my mind about some trans people. Because of certain political beliefs, that other side makes it so hard for trans to be accepted. But Blaire speaks the truth. And because of her, I CAN accept her, and others like her. She does not force anyone to like or accept her. She does not act like a complete moron who tries to make me accept them, or else. But being trans has become a fad, a phase. Much like when the rich women started getting small pets and carrying around out in public for attention. It's almost a status symbol these days. I honestly believe that most people who stick the trans label on themselves just do it for attention. But I don't feel like that at all about Blaire.

Blair the way you talked of adoption spoke directly to me. I'm as straight and plain jane as could be and I want to adopt for those same reasons. I loved the movie Lion, about an Indian boy being adopted by a hetro couple. Theres such a beautiful line by the mother about her values in choosing to help him, because that's what she wanted to do, not just produce a new life when he already existed and was in need of love.

I work at a college under a program that support current and former foster youth. And please listen to me when I tell you, these children being adopted into loving homes, regardless of the color of their parents, is a good thing. The amount of stories I’ve heard from my students and my boss (who is former foster youth herself), is deeply saddening. Getting them OUT of the system is good.

I accidentally stole a nail polish when I was 16. I was shopping with my friend and I found the nail polish and liked it and was just joking it in my hand. She continued to shop for like 20-30 minutes and I just forgot I had picked up the nail polish. I was just there for her, so I watched her check out and we walked out the car and then I realized I still had the polish in my hand. I didn’t go back in to pay for it. It was only like $7 and I felt SO bad about it for weeks. Besides any legal repercussions that might come from shoplifting, especially something worth much more, I would feel terrible. It’s just so dishonest and gross. Yeah, we all do shitty things in our youth. But those are adults. Is there NO shitty feeling after stealing? I don’t get it.
This reminds me so much of the time I accidentally took a pouch of mashed potatoes from the store. I literally walked 2 miles, one to the store and one back to return the item because i felt so guilty. Those mashed potatoes were probably barely 2 bucks lol

Brit here 😄 The TV license is to pay for live channels / the national broadcasting service (BBC) not to own a TV. You can opt out and still have a TV just fine. Haven’t paid for a TV license in almost 10 years but they do threaten you if you choose not to pay and not tell them initially. 😅

The TV licence over here in the uk is a tax to pay for the BBC, its one that can be opted out of, but you cant watch live tv or any BBC channel.

Kid of a Trans woman here... Kids are horrible, kids can be super cruel, but dear Lord their PARENTS were infinitely worse. My dad came out when I was 12, and I was one of the few people who accepted her almost immediately and had the pronouns down in about 2 days. I still call her "Dad," but that's purely because I don't have the greatest relationship with my mother. She very much took the Caitlyn Jenner approach and told me that I could call her whatever I liked, and she made a point of allowing me to be a part of the process instead of insisting I call her mom. Many of my friends and their parents didn't really care, but the few that did were absolutely vile about it. My Dad is very much like Blaire, and she and I watched Blaire's podcast together religiously when I lived at home. I used to be the kid who would call my dad "dad" in public, but unfortunately, thanks to the woke mob, I have had to revert to "Mom" in public settings to prevent any issues or violence. I'm disgusted that we've reached this point.

I had a friend who’s dad transitioned. He got angry at her when she called him dad, and she walked in on him trying on her clothes. She was a friend who always joked and never let anything get serious so she said it in passing.. but it carried serious hurt and trauma and I felt so horrible for her. We were adults too, 18 or 19. I can’t imagine the confusion and damage it caused to an 8 year old :(
