I love oysters and they look delicious. I use to go every Saturday afternoon with friends some years back to eat at least two dozen and have 5-6 beers at this place Snockey's in South Philadelphia. Made me appreciate all the hard work that happened before it went on my plate. Squeeze some lemon, a dash of Tabasco and slurp them bad boys down.

I remember coming home for christmas from the midwest and I was in shorts and everyone there was in parkas (it was in the 50s and 60s). California has almost no seasonality to the weather so people there are hyper sensitive to very small variations in temps.

You guys have great characters as your chosen hosts, but I think Anthony deserves a shot as doing more munchies videos! He's a solid host. Maybe not from a perspective of a chef, but it's nice to have a perspective from a blogger I Think because he represents the audience more. Definitely more relatable imo.

When you've tried oysters from all around the US you'll recognize mediocre tasting oysters like Blue Points. Kumamotos from Seattle's Puget Sound are really good! An oyster vendor friend of mine explained that oyster happy hour deals, etc are often bought already shucked and they simply serve them up on shells they've kept.
I work for an oyster booth at my farmers market and the amount of dedication and work that these men and ladies put in is astonishing. Nothing but respect for oyster shuckers and I definitely want to be this guy's friend, that whole spread looked amazing.

Used to work at a steak and lobster restaraunt before covid shut everything down. Every Tuesday and Thursday we got our seafood shipments (lobster, salmon, Lincod, sablefish) and the oysters. The general public new when we got out shipments for the week so Tuesday and Thursday were always our busy days. I worked night shift so usually from 5pm-close(12:30). I did everything around the kitchen from dish to steaks to salads. The BAIN of my existence was the oyster bar on salads. First day working it I tried my first oyster and still have ptsd about the feeling of a cold chunky snotrocket stuck in my throat, but thats besides the point. On the busy days we would not shuck under 800 oysters, theres no worse feeling than having a bill for 60, and then dozens upon dozens upon dozens of them com in on top of it. This video was a hard throwback for me. Ps, if you're gonna fuck with oysters, cook em! (Oyster Rockefeller is actually amazing)

I think since it’s such a big company he doesn’t farm the oysters, he just shucks them, so he hasn’t actually met them before. And they just farm, and don’t work in the restaurant. He was out on the farm to learn the ropes for the video.
When I had a hardwood flooring company with my friend we worked 16 hour or even 24 hour days. When we got a break we would buy a bushel of clams, steam them till the mouth opens be and eat em as they were with canned coke. Simple but God damn good.

You should try the East Hampton Shucking tool, it's the safest and easiest way to open oysters. You dont hold down the oyster down with your hand. It keeps your hand away from the knife. You won't get hurt.
