Wipe out as much as I can whilst it’s warm with kitchen towel then I wash them in hot soapy water

I’m no expert with wax melts , I just melt and pour , don’t do anything special

What kind of wax do u use? I have the 444 and i find when i pour in the clamshells, the wax shatters when i try to break off a piece

I’ve got the golden wax 494 , first time I’ve made clam shells , so not experienced any problems so far x

444 is a container wax which might be why the wax shatters. I use tw30 from California candle supply and it’s awesome!

Do you mean before I demold ? Depending on temperature they can set really quick or take a few hours - I leave them for a few hours if I can , to burn them I would wait 2 weeks x

Depends on outside temperature how quick they set before de moulding so sometimes to be safe at least 12 hours
Then once de moulded and packaged you shouldn’t burn them for at least 2 weeks x

Do you spay the molds with alcohol before adding anything to them?

No I never have done that

Your melts are lovely! I tried making melts for the first time and i only did 100g of wax and i soon as i poured it in another jug to mix with with the fragrance it hardened instantly on the bottom of the new jug...how is your wax still liquid in such small batch?

I think you heat the jug up before pouring it in

I didn’t pre heat up the jug , maybe your wax still wasn’t hot enough or is your working environment cold maybe ?

How ever much wax you have measured in your jug , I then do 10% of that in oil fragrance

How long do you have to wait befor you unmold them?

In summer months I can do it within half hour - during the winter I leave them for a few hours - depends on your room temperature
