The song is about their hometown of Atlanta. They know all about twerking. Im 40 and been a metal head my whole life and Ive ALWAYS loved booty shaking haha. There is a live version of this song they played in Atlanta and invited a bunch of these dancers to be on stage with them you can check out on youtube. Also like 3-4 of these women were also in the Bubble Butt video by Major Laser

The video was meant to mildly parody the weirdness of 90s videos, but they ended up inviting a ton of dancers from Atlanta (Mastodon’s hometown) to do their thing. It kind of organically turned in to a mock dance off, and they just went with it. It was never meant to be sexist or make fun of any specific genre - it was just meant to be strange and fun. And yeah, this video is both strange and fun :)
I think this song/video is about temptation: gluttony, wealth, sex etc, it points to Adam and Apple, the snake symbology. Ironically, considering the amount of views the official video got, it seems the temptation is still happening 😂

I disagree, for the right bands its another way to express themselves and you can get some really interesting visuals. This one in particular was just them having fun but watch some Tool or Primus videos.
