My mom was a member of the Silicon Valley Chapter & the Bay Area Chapter of the American Harp Society - I remember many performances of this wonderful piece with her playing, Phyllis Schlomovitz, and Renee Quinn. Such a wonderful piece... It makes my heart happy to see this.

The music is available several places online, including through Vanderbilt Music and Lyon and Healy's harp music department. It is listed as Pachelbel Canon in D Harp Solo, and the Harp II part is sold separately through the same distributors. We played these two harp parts, and then there was some "ad libbing".

This is one of the best discoveries that I have found on UA-cam! I am absolutely mesmerized and this is so beautiful that it has brought tears to my eyes. The harp is so beautiful and powerful. Tell you, I was struck in disbelief, it's marvellous, and glorious. The story of King David played for King Saul came almost instantly, he must have been a very talented harpist. Now I understand, it's so powerful and capable of soul reaching.
Wonderful Ensemble of Harps. Is the first time in my life I see a ensemble of harps. Magnificent. I'm amazed. Congratulations to arranged for harps by Susann McDonald and Linda Wood Rollo. Thank you! Congratulations!!
This year's concert will feature 20 harpists and the Canon in D and Bolero will be played, as well as new selections. May 19, 2012, 4pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in San Jose, CA.
