Nice video. When I was in the USMC, I served on that ship for a short time in 1969 when she was based at NAB Little Creek, VA. I was at Embarkation School at the time, learning how to load ships. Diving the Grove is one of the things to do on my bucket list now.
Just dove there in October 2018 and loved it, probably my favorite dive of all time. Saw so many barracuda and got some great swim through opportunities on the wreck. I hope to go back one day.
Great video! I was very lucky in diving that wreck in November, and we got to the bow where there were 3 large Goliath Groupers, one of them was over 400 pounds....the big one had a deformity on his lip like from a fish hook..I wonder if it was this one!
Great video! Diving there in a couple weeks. Question though- were the reds I see in the video visible at depth, or were you using external lighting for the video?
Levi Hill I filmed mine with a hero 4 silver. It looked fantastic. Check out my latest video on my channel to see for yourself. I did my editing with just the gopro desktop studio. Enjoy

Thank you for the respect you showed to Ole Glory!
I haven't dove this wreck since 6 months after they sunk it and it was on its side. Great to see all the growth it has now. Great video!
I’m about to dive this tomorrow morning and I’m so excited. I’m from LA so it’s gonna be one of those rare dives!

Thanks so much for the video. I am going to dive this in two weeks so I thought I would do a little research. I enjoyed your video.
It's hard to tell because you didn't focus on it in the shot, but did you see the scorpionfish from 8:06 to 8:25?
Great video, cool fish!
Great video, it sounds like your regulator needs service though :)

Nice dive.. I like the HMS Minnow.. good value.. better than the big boats for the same price..
May I ask what camera you used to film this? Any type of filter?
my dive today just got canceled because of the weather so sad

@@lhill4363 hi deer I just ate a bit too much my stomach feels reel full
how far down is the ship?
Think it's about 140' to the sand. The top of the ship is about 60-70' below the surface if I remember correctly.
Your breathing is on point. Slow inhale and exhale
Real wreck it's a spirit of history.
Artificial wreck it's a nothing but metal scrap.
But nice footage 👍
Thanks, and I know-and it was JUST serviced :-(
I remember when she was sunk and played on her side..They tried without success to right her. It took a hurricane to right her..
Cool video ! check out The Amazing Dives, girl free dives this wreck
