Memorial Stone. He was cremated, ashes scattered. No grave. Dan Matovina did all the groundwork to get that memorial stone... Pete deserved soooo much better.
I've always loved Badfinger, and always been deeply saddened at what happened to Peter Ham, and later, Tom Evans, who also committed suicide. Sometimes, deeply sensitive people cannot cope with an often brutal world. The manager Polley was an absolute disgrace. It's such a shame that Apple folded, taking away McCartney's input into Badfinger, which was immense. I've seen an interview in which McCartney talks about what an immense talent Ham was, and I got the feeling that he would have intervened had he known what was happening. A sad and tragic end to a brilliant musician, singer-songwriter. Without You must truly be one of the greatest songs ever written. Thank you for this video showing Ham's grave and for your thoughtful words.
Well done sir! Respectfully done. Anybody who wrote beautiful songs like Baby Blue and, with Tom, Without You deserves to be venerated forever. The full story is both sad and anger inducing, these two lads are in heaven playing their music and stan polley is in hell getting red hot pokers rammed up his backside for all eternity.
Didn't recognise the name Badfinger at all, but after watching your touching, and wonderful visit to Peter, I played some of their videos, and unsurprisingly, I recognised some of their great songs. What happened to him was absolutely tragic, and I feel nothing but contempt for those who ripped him and the band off. Thanks for the video Alan, you were respectful and measured as ever. A captivating watch. 👍🏻❤
Hello Sara exactly the same with me. I loved some of the songs the hits but I never really knew anything about them. That's the beauty of doing the films. Thank you
Thank you, Alan. I have no plans to visit the UK but if I do I won't leave without visiting Pete's memorial. No doubt I'll say a few words, and shed a few tears. He was a talented songwriter and he had a beautiful voice. He deserved better.

Thanks Al. Everyone, you need to listen to Traffic’s ‘The Low Park of High-Heeled Boys’. It says it all about the early days of musicians and their ‘managers’. This is what happened to Pete and Badfinger.
Brilliant video Al, it's a great shame for Peter , great songs, he could have got through this with the right guidance and could have made even better music, a shame, 'No matter what' is really Brilliant.

Greetings Alan, Another superb VLOG, I remember Bad Finger but was not aware of their history or Peter’s sad demise. I worked with the bass player from The Panthers. He told me he thinks Peter 'gave up' because he was determined to be a pro muso all his life, he was dead serious about it. When Warner brothers went for them after Polley took the money, Peter thought he would never work again.
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep As you probably know, John, Peter's brother, had a music shop on Mansel Street in Swansea. I went in there when i started work, mid 80s... I was looking to buy an SG, asked John if he had any. he said he didn't, but would I like to try one he had, it had been his brothers... I didn't have a clue who his brother was at the time. I said no, i want to buy one, not try one. ... I later found out it was the SG the Beatles had given to Peter. It was used on Revolver and The white album.... one of life's regrets... oops
Hi mate. Remember Peters and Lee? What do you know about them? They seem to have been lost in music history and not a lot of info on who they were and what happened on their life's. Any chance you could have a look and fo something on them? I'm in Australia however come from Scotland originally and was brought up with groupes like them.. Thanks mate, love the channel
I loved Pete Ham and bad finger was sad to hear when i heard he died when he did. I think if he had lived i think he would of done alright but thats my opinion
Fantastic songwriter, guitarist and vocalist… his death was too much for his band mate Tom Evans. Evans actually was collecting some royalties for “ Without You”, he even states it in an interview where he says “ it has kept me in pockets”. Millions were tied up in escrow and he was being sued by others very sad. He just had and couldn’t take it anymore and killed himself 8 years after Pete Ham.
Alan petes mot buried there,he was cremated and sprinkled near the hall they pkayed in.he thought the life insurance would help his partner and daughter, they dont payout for suicide.same band until the change with tom evens and the lead guitarist. 😊
@MotorHomeBeepBeep I know, imagine seeing Pete hanging there,I wouldnt stay in the house.she had to go back to Scotland to support herself and daughter.pete was so talented,Americans for you.the one who signed them up had left,so they just should of carried on,or gone back to George Harrison.

Hello david, I didn't know that the other guy hung himself. Wow, makes you glad that you're not in that kind of pressure. I'm checking the group out. They do seem excellent. Thank you, Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep that's because they got ripped big time. It was some time after Pete. The depression was too much! I was a big fan back in the day!
This is a lovely video. Thank you.
Peter Ham RIP ❤
Another person i wasn't aware of. How sad to take his life so young. What was also sad was the note left showed anger. Interesting and compassionate video Alan, thank you.
Hi Mag yesterday add all the elements, love anger and sadness. He must have been in a very terrible state

Hi Alan, glad to see you well. Terrible that anyone does this, people think money is everything. I had the kids out at the weekend at the beach. It was free.
It's like the song says the best things in life are free User 😄

I know you mean Diane I only vaguely knew him but I love the single Without You thank you goodnight
Thanks Alan, Remember this bad well and when he died, I wasn't a bad finger fan, But as you say another gone too young.
Hi Steven thanks mate
Oops, meant to say ‘Spark’. 😊
Badfinger Boogie, original title of With a Little Help From my friends
I worked with the bass player from The Panthers. He told me he thinks Peter 'gave up' because he was determined to be a pro muso all his life, he was dead serious about it. When Warner brothers went for them after Polley took the money, Peter thought he would never work again.
Thank you mister. That's that's very, very interesting an inside story
It was used on Revolver and The white album.... one of life's regrets... oops
@@MisterBurtonshaw😂Bad luck!
Thank you Alan feel fine ❤
Niice to hear Leeann :-)
@MotorHomeBeepBeep thank you Alan have a good day x
Very unusual and luxurious grave..
I particularly like that helper in the background that keeps getting water
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep ahahaha my Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep Swansea like Penzance
So sad when people are so desperate that for them, it is the only way out of the darkness. Too many young people take their lives.
The way he body was found it looked like he apparently tried to change his mind at the last moment
Thank you biker Lenny Peters died of cancer but I don't know the location of his grave. I don't think he's being given out. All the best my friend
I've never heard of him at all fancy going at twenty seven so sad
Thats so sad
I loved Pete Ham and bad finger was sad to hear when i heard he died when he did. I think if he had lived i think he would of done alright but thats my opinion
I think you're right. Nancy
Apparently the name Badfinger came from John Lennons limitations upon the piano Badfinger boogie …..
Thank you Tony. I didn't know that interesting
All people loads who died not know him
Alan petes mot buried there,he was cremated and sprinkled near the hall they pkayed in.he thought the life insurance would help his partner and daughter, they dont payout for suicide.same band until the change with tom evens and the lead guitarist. 😊
Hi Judi Very interesting what is shame for the guy and his family afterwards
@MotorHomeBeepBeep I know, imagine seeing Pete hanging there,I wouldnt stay in the house.she had to go back to Scotland to support herself and daughter.pete was so talented,Americans for you.the one who signed them up had left,so they just should of carried on,or gone back to George Harrison.
Not true, my brother's life insurance was paid out after he took his own life aged 35. Maybe some don't but not the case in our experience.
@@jintygm your very lucky, they frown on that.
I really hate to say this but I can't help but to look at Ham as weak. Where was his fighting spirit. He could have fought back I'm sure.
A;AN THIS WAS A GREAT BAND THEY WAS ON THE BEATLES LABEL APPLE I DO KNOW PAUL MCARTNEY WROTE COME AND GET IT THEY WAS VERY VERY GOOD I KNOW THERE STUFF WELL AS YOU KNOW I PLAY GUITAR THIS GROUP WAS VERY MUCH LIKE THE FAB FOUR i think the beatles gave them a good start i was very youn when they broke out but its like liverpool exspress thats paul brother thats in this band i did like liver pool exspress i dont know what happend to them they just went shame as they was a good band bad finger was a good band music was great in them days its not good now at all good to see ya alan keep up the good work
Thank you my friend I can see that you're very excited I honestly don't know I'm as much about them as you do and I'm not sure which band Paul's brother was in because I'm a big Paul McCartney fan but I'll take it out tomorrow but I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the film. All I can say is that the guy looks wonderfully sensitive and I love without you I bought the single when I was 11 years old it was the first woman I ever bought keeping touch I'm so pleased you enjoyed Alan

@@MotorHomeBeepBeepthe group that Mike McCartney was in was called The "Scaffold" under the name Mike McGear, he went on to have a solo career, the group "Liverpool Express" where formed I think in 1975 but did not include Mike McCartney
@@beatlebrian4404 THI BB thank you ever so much that's very interesting of course I do know the group The Scaffold because of their big hit Lilly the Pink but I didn't know the other things. It was nice he didn't try to trade off the surname McCartney and did his own thing.
Cymru Am Byth Pete R I P
Too bad he gave up life too easy! 😢
It's a shame that Peter Ham and Tom Evans lost themselves and felt the need to do themselves in. They could have hired a lawyer and got their money, and then moved on. They could have toured for years and made a ton of money from their concerts.
I couldn't agree with you more
They did in the 80s... the legal firm said they could have got the money back, but the costs would have been more than the money recovered.
@@MisterBurtonshaw Ahh of course, not worth their financial effort. Sad but true for too many.
Indeed!
Hi Al- didnt know of Peter Ham - another good review mate keep going! 🏴
Thank you Carol where would I be Without You X
