Basically like coworkers from previous jobs.
thats exactly it. I was once in a signed band, on MTV, I left in the early 90s. I'm still in the music industry, but in a different role, and when I attend award shows, or other things, i reconnect with people I hung out with or shared the stage with every week 30 years ago, and it's hugs and kisses, but it's just like seeing old work friends you get drinks with when attending trade shows, you catch up but then go live your life and maybe it's another year or two before you see your "friends" again. The other thing is that you know the difference between their public persona and the real person.
Yeah, that's how it always is in movies and television.
Well said 🎉
@@Martys-4x4 I'm sure they mean a kiss on the cheek at most.
@@PlottingTheDownfallWhat band were you in?
Rob Lowe has aged really well.
Plastic surgery
@@vg4lifewhoever is his surgeon......congrats.....good job......it looks natural. Good for Rob!
Aged?
The man works hard at staying fit. Strict exercise regimen and diet.
Definitely like a fine wine..
I used to be shocked to hear people say things like this of completely losing touch with old pals when I was very young and just in high school, like some kind of tragedy must have happened. You always believe you and your merry band of troublemakers will stay always in touch forever, but as the years have passed the same happened to me. Life changes so drastically that it forces you to move on, I am hardly in touch with any of my childhood friends. On the rare occasions I hear of them I realise they have become completely different people.
There is a beautiful sadness to that. I just got out of my teenaged years and I'm already losing touch with all my old friends. It saddens me that things must change, but memories are a powerful thing. We can always reminisce on the good times. "It's better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all"❤
It's like the ending of the Breakfast Club, isn't it? We all sadly know that the characters likely never spoke to one another again, but that doesn't make the movie any less good.
Same here, a couple have even passed away, that's when you realize how much things have changed and you'll never get it back.
@@kenlompart9905what’s also sad is when you do
Run into a good friend from your past and you make plans to get together. You hang out with them and realize that although they are still nice good people - that both of you are much different
People at much different stages in your life. That same magical bond is simply no longer there and that’s something you can’t force . There have been times I’d rather just remember the good times in our youth instead of trying to create something new and weird
So, he's pretty much like everyone else, except he's famous.
Sounds like he has his priorities in order 👍🏿
And says good things about the fraternity so that’s pretty awesome. I was in the TV business 7 years. I got out three years ago and I rarely talk to them. I just don’t have time.
Its funny that people assume that a group of 20 year olds who were in some movies together like 40 years ago would all somehow still be best friends.
Why? I am still good friends with lots of guys and girls from the boarding school I went to from 1986 to 1991. We don't see each other all the time, but we have a connection.
@@xpat73a connection but that doesn’t mean you stay in touch.
we have stayed in touch for nearly 40 years @@jessebacon817
Most guys after the age of 30, 40, etc… don’t stay friends with a lot of their old pals. Especially if they have a family
Yeah people mistake good film chemistry with real life chemistry. Even if it is real life chemistry, it doesn't mean you'll forever be inseparable until you die
Yep, that's exactly how it is with the people I grew up with. We rarely talk now but when we do get together, it's like no time has passed at all. We connect, still family, one and all returned to teens and the next day, oh the next day can be really bad with the hangovers. Bunch of crazy kids who came of age during the 80s. Wild? Oh yeah. Barely scratches the surface.
Ran into Rob Lowe in Ventura a couple of years ago....totally a Class act guy. We are the same age...he looks ten years younger than me. Motivational really.
Rob Lowe is great
Post more pls
Rob Lowe is talented
I'm so glad he managed to create a good, solid life for himself.
Class guy
It's like acting is like any other job.
The Outsiders was the birth of the brat pack even though Emilo and Rob were really the main ones of the brat pack but I consider everyone from The Outsiders part of it...
YES!!! Definitely agree Jenny!!!! Plus I think after that, people just wanted to see more brat pack stuff instead relating to the stories LOL
I don't know. I think the Brat Pack is just John Hughes movies plus St Elmo's Fire. Ralph Macchio and Tom Cruise are not in the Brat Pack.
@@jedijones when he got roasted ralph was there
disagree , brat pack is everyone in BREAKFEAST CLUB, Andrew McCarthy is Missing.
Tom Cruise part of the brat pack? Don’t think so
Like i hate it when ppl ask me if i connect with this person or that person. Like my life is important too. Im not gonna chase around everyone I had a connection with at some point in my life. Its a two way street also. People forget that.
Spot on.
There are countless people from my past I'd like to bump into but that's life. These folk are no different!
Turns out Rob Lowe is a normal famous guy!!! Good on ya!!!😂
I'm going to start referring to all of Gen X as the Brat Pack. Pretty fitting.
GET Some POP FILTER, SIRIUS XM!
Ive never seen anything about him being in the brat pack.
Tom Cruise was not in the Brat Pack
Funny how he mentioned cruise but somehow he never stays in touch with brat pack
Brat Pack adjacent - was in the first film
"l have no friends." - Rob Lowe
i dont either , i have ghosts , thats how it gets after 40 i think , u work mostly and when u aint workin u dont really have the energy to seek a social life, especially now when 60-70 hour work weeks are normal, i mean ive only seen my brother maybe once in last year, if your young still , have fun because it dont last ,
maybe for some and you but I'm 56 and hang with friends from HS and have a circle of friends. I also play in a band have great interactions. Am I tired? Sure...but you describe laziness
I don't have friends either.
Or he has friends in his current life, not necessarily famous people or people he worked with 40 years ago. 😂😂😂
@@daveg4236 I spoke with some of those people who you spend time with and they all universally agreed they don't like you.
Rob lowe was great with Handy Rasvin
Chynna and Billy Baldwin live there too
They’re coattail-riding losers…
Besides the fact he’s famous and in the public eye… Sounds totally normal and like every average person who’s lost touch with people from his past.
That’s bollocks, he’s really close to Emilio Estevez. 😫
They all ditched him after his sex tape.
I wonder how different melissa Gilbert's life would have been had she not gotten pregnant on purpose before the wedding, and they actually got married. Both were HUGE cocaine users, Melissa even worse
SHUT UP
Nope 😂
Melissa Gilbert and Rob were engaged and planning their wedding. She got pregnant on purpose before the wedding, and he immediately dumped her. Melissa's life spiraled out of control with cocaine, drugs, sex, 3 divorces
SERÁ QUE FOI POR CAUSA D'ELE MESMO ?????????
That is on her.
Rob’s ego would not let him share the spotlight with anyone else. What about infamous sex tape?
Mr Loew's ego is just a little out of control. He quit The West Wing because the writers took the focus off of him and spread it around to the other characters.
I’ve always considered Rob to be a very low person in character
Rob was hired to be the star of the show. That's how it was pitched, a day in the life of WH staffers and he was supposed to be the central character. The president wasn't even supposed to be the focus, but Martin Sheen was just too good to keep playing down his role. It turned into a show that starred Martin Sheen and the entire ensemble. Rob didn't have a problem with that and stayed on the show for four years before going on to do other things. He even reprised his role in the last season of the West Wing. One of the best written shows ever to appear on television.
As previously stated, he was supposed to be the star of the show initially. Ntm, that was about 25 years ago. A little presumptuous to think he's still the same person or couldn't have changed in the intervening years
Is that really ego? He was told that he would be the lead and that didn't happen. Focusing on all the characters was better for the show but I can get why Rob Lowe wanted to move on after a few years. He did return for the West Wing special in 2020. Everyone has clearly buried the hatchet and moved on.
Didn't he do weird stuff with an underaged teen? Maybe they don't want to be associated with that
One of the biggest narcissist in Hellywood
Bren cato - pretty much the same thing
LMAOAOAOAO
Yes. His favorite topic is Rob Lowe.
Your inferiority complex is showing.
Narcisstwood...
Andy is awful
does he keep in touch with the people he sexually abuses? would you trust this guy around your family?
Who did he abuse?
I can’t listen to the gay interviewer.
