I feel like doing the same to my truck. Fyi cutting with an angle grinder is super dangerous without the guard on . The best way would be to take the wheel off, use a guard, if you cant make the cut with guard on at least use a leather gloves and a faceshield.
I ran straight to the comments! I have watched hours and hours on this type of thing, and I’ll say I love the enthusiasm, but the delicate precision is lacking! :) thanks for the video and gusto!
If you use a wheel with 0 offset I do not see the tires rubbing with 35's. The rear of my truck is stock. I intend to replace the rear springs with a full set of Carli springs and Fox shocks at some point
If you go with wheels that have a bit of a positive offset (like a +18 to +25) so you had 5.5” to 5.75” of backspace. You wouldn’t need to cut as much, you could just grind it down a little bit
THIS GUY HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE IS DOING. IF HE DID HE WOULD REMOVE THE TIRE SO HE WOULD HAVE ROOM TO WORK
If you had the wheels off, you did not have to cut all of.
5min job.
Now its fucked.

Great videos, love you truck.
wont that fill up with water when it rains and the tires kick up water?
I like your spunk lol , my 02 24 valve is a long way from clean or finished lol ty for creating enjoyable content 😊
OH YES WE WANTED TO SEE IT !!!
Just curious I’m having the same issue on my truck how did that work out for you ? Did that solve the problem of the tires rubbing?
Do not do this. That is not how you cut spot welds for clearance. You're supposed to cut between them and bend them over.
How is the truck holding up? I have to do the same thing.
Did you make a part 2?
More videos please, I learned so much
Cut that SOB Baby!! Function not fashion Amirite?
What size wheels and what size tires ? Any leveling kit or lift ?
The part that you cut off/bent over what do ya think the purpose of it is Dusty? Could it be for structural integrity?
It is where the tow body panels are welded together. I was hesitant to make the cut but I am perfectly fine with the decision now.
How to cut up a nice truck 101. Ill stick to the 35's
Id love to see this now it's probably all rust
Hey man do you think 35s will rub if I were to lift the front with 2.5 inch springs like yours has? Also, what do you have for lift in the rear?

@@dustydiesel564 thank you buddy🤙🏼
I run 35s on roughly a 4-5 inch lift. Absolutely no problems with rubbing. I think even just a level would allow for no rubbing with 35s.
Still waiting for my wallet to fill up to get my thuren 6 inchers on. Probably will grab some deaver leafs in the rear.
You could use body filler in there form it like the rest of the fender paint it call it 👍
Reminds me of those Hellaflush import cars.
those pinch welds suck to do. cut multiple slits like you were doing and fold them over with a big sledge

Pretty sure he knows that. The whole point is to have that wide look.
Nor cal mod video addresses this issue.
I think i am going to slightly replicate this but use jb weld to close the holes up🤔 thats the problem with running 35s! Lol
this video would have been 6 minutes and 21 seconds had he taken the time to take the wheel off
Drill welds
You should have taken the tire off and just folded the seam over I’ve done it on Toyota’s, Chevy’s and Ford’s! Butchering it this way.
Hey man do you think you can make a video on how to do that on a Chevy?
😮
i do itt
no flex
