Easily, this is the best tutorial of this solo on UA-cam. A bunch of others have straight up wrong notes, and not only do you nail every pitch, but your feel and finesse are second to none. Excellent attention to detail. You have big ears, my friend!
@@DavidHobbs I’ve the seen video Tim Pierce did on this solo, where Jay breaks it down and explains how he achieved the tone. Really special that a video like that was even made!
Outstanding! Excellent explanation and technique for bending. 9's make it easy to bend, but I tend to dig in a bit too much, my chords bend and sound sickly. I love 10's, I'll have to try this. Really appreciate your pointers. It took me me 45 years to finally sit down and learn the Solo to "Kid Charlemagne", now I'll sit down and learn this Solo. Thanks for the great lesson!
Appreciate your attention to detail dude! Maybe now I can finally learn this awesome solo. I think any of the Steely Dan tunes and solos would be great for you to dig into.
Totally fantastic & much appreciated! If you can nail down the solo from Do It Again, that would be terrific. I love playing guitar but am seriously challenged!!
If you watch Jay break down his own solo. He says he starts with a "pre-bend" at the sixth and seventh frets. That's the only thing you might have missed. Great tutorial though!

Thank you so much man, I appreciate it! I'm gonna try to get back into making more lessons in the near future!
Jay Graydon the player himself has a tutorial on how he played it as well.

Thanks for the tutorial, and big thanks to Jay Gradon for cooking it up in real time.
I love your Music Man, dude. What a fantastic guitar.
@@doolbro Thank you so much! As a big Toto-fan, I just had to have it. The red and gold just screams "Toto IV"!😁
Great lesson. Thank you very much. This is the best Peg solo video on UA-cam. 😁👍
A great lesson true! But the best? How about from the man himself: Jay Graydon: ua-cam.com/video/Ghp88V3Qm8w/v-deo.html
@@JohnWilliamsFromBluff True. You can’t do better than a lesson from Jay himself, but I learned to play the solo from your video. Cheers, Max
Great patience and good details, don't stop ✌️🎸👍🎼🧩🕊️🦄
Great stuff more Steely Dan please Jacques .
Thank you so much!🤗 The Kid Charlemagne solo is coming in the near future!😁

That means a lot, thank you!🙌 I might do Kid Charlemagne as well in the future, now that's an incredible solo!😎
Great lesson. Thank you
Fantastic solo. Tone included....
@@thelion27 Jay Graydon is a genius!🙌
Awesome! This solo and Get Back Jack are two of the most unrock and roll solos ever- super sophisticated.
"Get Back Jack"? Perhaps you mean "Do it again"? If so, I agree! Denny Dias is so cool.
@@JohnWilliamsFromBluff Yep. Denny Dias.
perfect great solo the Dan is always so tasty
THANKS FOR SHARING SO CLEAR WITH DETAILS
Great job!!
Excellent!

Outstanding! How about a breakdown of the Do It Again solo?
Great job, mate!
Thank you so much!!🤗

You had me at “pray to whatever god”
Great walk though! Thank you!
Jay breaks it down somewhere on here... john herrington played it note for note on one of the dan tours but he usually doesnt play jays solo at all
you are great
You're so kind, thank you!🤗
Excellent…. I thought it was Skunk B playing ❤

The whole time I watched this all I could hear in my head was the opening scene of penguins of madagascar..... " gunter, give them a push"
Now that's a good movie!😂 "It's an elite force-" *CRUNCH*
the pedal is an open G string!!
Yes that's right. I might have forgotten to mentioned that, thanks!🙌
4:13 seconds in and not past the first 2 notes. Finding another lesson where the guy loves the song more than his own voice
🎯🎯🎯🎯👍🏾👍🏾
It's already been done (and quite well) so let's start doing some original stuff.
Anyone ever said you look a little bit like David Gilmore ?
