    is there a way to condense this into 2 hours instead of months?

      Not really, it needs certain amount of practise as it is examination for graduates. The level is slightly set above the baseline and questions are tricky.
      But each one of us has different capabilities of learning, so it might be easy, moderate or tought to anyone.
      You can give practise test and plan accordingly.

      @@dhrishathakkar760 I ended up only studying like an hour before the test and got over 160. Just really try to memorize the vocab list as fast as possible and make educated guesses from there

      @@dhrishathakkar760 I just read the list of words and definitions and tried my best to memorize them. Then did some practice questions then took 10 minute break before the test. I may have gotten lucky idk. I dont think I am above average when it comes to reading and vocab ussually so just get really scared of what happens if you do bad ig.

    can I just ask, as a general person, what is the point of just memorizing vocabulary that is never going to be used in real life

    Hi Sybil, great video quick question. I purchased the Kaplan book with the practice tests because of your videos and I take one every weekend. Were they really close to your actual test? Harder/easier? How close was it thank you so much it would be greatly appreciated if you responded thank you!

    When you studied for the GRE were you still taking classes? Or working? Or did you study for the GRE full time?

    I have the Manhattan GRE 500-word deck, is this ok or do I need the Kaplan deck? So you mean to tell me that you memorized 500 words? Out of the 500, I might remember 10 and be familiar with 20, lol. There's no telling what words will be on the GRE

    • @sybilxwang
      @sybilxwang  9 місяців тому +4

      I'm sure that the Manhattan deck would be just fine for the test as well. And yes, I memorized all 500 words! It definitely takes some time, but if you put in the work I promise it makes the verbal section much less daunting, since there is a higher chance that you would have memorized the words you see on the GRE exam!

    Hello Sybil, I would like to ask, what online free reading resources would you recommend for your "read more" tips? Thank you

    • @sybilxwang
      @sybilxwang  6 місяців тому +1

      For free resources, you can check out online news/magazines such as Time Magazine, The New York Times, NBC, etc. However, I'd still recommend reading an English book more, since you can choose a genre you really like which can motivate you to read more!
