After a few requests over on Instagram for review on the Helm Compact One here it is.
A smashing little compact shelter coming in at £200 from Amazon. I have gave my honest thoughts on this tent after a few outings in it.

Nice one - The perfect tent. I liked the pegs that much I ordered another 10 to use with other tents.

Bit of a random question where you at ballycastle yesterday for the cliff diving? I thought I seen you but it could be my eyes 😂
@@GeoffGreenawayOutdoors No, that wasn't me. I was Lisbellaw all day yesterday. Cliff diving sounds great though if I was 20 years younger!!
@@ashleyjarnold I’m glad I didn’t make a fool of myself then 😂 😂. I wouldn’t know much about cliff diving myself, I think you might need a screw loose never mind 20 years younger to do what these people where doing😂.
Thanks Geoff for this video and the others you've made. I've recently gotten into hill walking in the Mournes and have clocked up 4 Slieves to date with the hope of some wild camping down the line when I get some more experience. Your videos have been a huge source of information and help to me -thanks.

I need a 1 man and cant decide between this and a MSR. Both are tanks! I like that extra wee space to put your rucksack. Great review
@@ssuk1985 cheers for watching, it’s much appreciated 👍. I can’t fault this helm compact one, definitely has a great feel to it and like you say the “boot” compartment at the other side is a cracker. I can’t comment on the MSR tents other than most seem to be inner pitch first which I find strange.
@@GeoffGreenawayOutdoors I've gone for a Lanshan, haha. Bought it on an impulse. I'll play with it a few months and then be back to looking at the Helm again. Good point about the MSR being inner first.
@@ssuk1985 my brother has a lanshan and he loves it, I’m not a fan 😂, but everyone has their favourite tent. I’m not sure an inner pitch first has much benefit especially over here 🌧️.

Nice video matey. You can't go wrong with the helm . There's not many tents at that price you could get away with in all seasons. Well done
@@jamesoutandaboutn.i227 cheers James. I’m a big fan of Oex but for the extra £50 near you can definitely feel the difference, not knocking Oex by any stretch of the imagination either there, it’s the only thing I can compare it too.
