Simple minds been around 40 plus years and when your around that long as artists your views your experiences change members come and go influences differ but the minds throughout the years continue to produce decent tracks in every era. Seen them live in Nottingham 2024 and they pride themselves in being a great live band and they still are no question.

Bud, agree with your analysis! The Lou Reed “street hassle” cover was completely unnecessary, kick inside of me truly horrible. I have to say the instrumental at the end I do like. In summary, it really is an album of two halves and suffers from a weaker side 2. Subscribed!

Thank u for the comment. Have you heard the live version of East at Easter from the 1989 tour show in Verona? Its on you tube. Imo they perfected that song on that live performance. Its even better that the 87 tour City of Lights. Its really odd ar the end. There is what sounds like a gunshot at the end. It may be something behind the stage that falls over. It is so loud. You even hear an audience member shriek scared. Jim Kerr doesnt even flinch. Its so odd. Not sure if it makes the version better or worse. Lol.
      Such a great song.

I think I will review Street Hassle this week by Lou Reed.

sons and fascination sister feelings call is my personal favorite. However you can find something good off their records. Even Neapolis has a couple of good songs on it. However, there is no question and I think any Simple Minds fan will tell you the best lineup they ever had was Kerr, Burchill, Forbes, Gaynor, and the Mighty Mick McNeil, arguably one of the greatest of all time.

I'm looking forward to reviewing Sons and Fascination. Maybe I should do that next. I haven't heard any of their albums from 1996-2016 to be honest. Everything before that I really really like. And like you said, you can always like something on their albums. Thanks for posting!

Kick inside of me is my favourite on side 2.

Really? I respect that. I don't fully hate it in anyway. I rated it 1 star for ok. My ratings are designed to lean towards a higher more accurate 5 star rating for myself. So 1 star may seem low but again, I find the song OK. It would be rare for me to rate any Simple Minds songs less than 1 star in general. Thanks for watching!
