It's mid March 2024 as I'm listening and watching this, miles from Scotland, in Sydney, Australia. and the glorious, joyous Runrig sound is as uplifting and as stirring as ever!!! Best.Band.Ever.
I seen them live before they were famous on a chance visit to a club that supported live music that's life the club was I'm Aberdeen just about the oil time
@mapex016 - Ach, still fighting the old battles. I've been a fan of Runrig since the beginning. They were great with Donnie on lead vocals & they've been great with Bruce on lead vocals. The heart of Runrig has always been Rory & Colum. The old songs were great & the newer songs are great. Runrig is Runrig is Runrig & long may they still bring joy to millions!
I do only hope they film it for us that cant make it, tried so hard to get time off but just not poss, followed them since as a fresh 18yo after I was posted to RAF Buchan in 1975, The music I found in Scotland over the years that followed was so wonderful Runrig and Pallas being highlights among so many. I personally will miss this band so much, as much as I miss the The Capitol in Aberdeen where all my early live shows were watched. Fond memories of a simpler era. Runrig thank you so much for being part of it........PS it is such a very great shame that it has taken the BBC nationally so long to put them on a playlist, shame on you to little to late
sitting here, in Skye, listening to this and hoping for a FREE SCOTLAND! (regularly see Donnie and Malcolm in the village). I was once a Soldier and Piper in the Scots Guards, I would take this music south with me about 1987-88 and nobody within my circle had heard it before. Awesome stuff! SAOR ALBA!
I'm a drummer from Dunfermline and have had the priviledge of meeting them, Runrig is not Runrig without Donnie on vocals, It's like chrismas without Santa. x
Really nothing like them, great memories. One of the best is of me and Marion singing Dust to Malcolm Jones in the Tongadale, very badly indeed. We found it amusing.
Myself and my late Dad just loved Runrig in the 90s, I saw them at Loch Lomond, and me and my Dad and friends saw them at Edinburgh Playhouse, on same tour :) I have the video .. The Big Wheel??
Magnificent. While Malcom deserves the plaudits for that soring riff, I LOVE Rory's bass line in this song. Just the right amount of notes and all the right notes. Beautiful.
big john salmon introduced me to runrig,,,seen them in the barrolands london and that famous loch lomond gig me and my big mate john,,,,R.I.P the fish love the fatboy
Kim Noble they bastards aren't scottish kim the welcome sign to Scotland should be relocated to Callander and Perth should be reinstated as the capital.
A man of your format ought to know that Santa is a Coca Cola invention, and we would better off without. You go tell em´ lads: Give it up fellas, it is no good. And sure they will drop dead one after the other, to bring the world back to true order. You will have a monument in the end, you can count on that.

Me too. This is one of my favourite live Runrig songs. Donnie is an amazing singer.
This song never fails to raise my spirits and Donnie's voice is a gift from the gods for sure.

I completely agree; Donnie's voice is just amazing
I really like the bassists voice! Compliments Donny's really well
Donnie has always been the voice of Runrig for me!
This is one incredibly arousing performance & Donnie gets about as wild as the audience. Ach, you can tell he's so proud to be from Skye!
I'm no Scotsman, not even English (Sassenach) yet this song drives tears in my eyes..

Saw them sing this at Edinburgh Playhouse 1991 wi ma Dad, and friends :) , also at Balloch, Loch Lomond... good times :)
I was at this very gig. Best concert I ever went to. :-)
Froze for about an hour outside in a t-shirt. It was about -3C in the east end that night.
It was absolutely freezing that night. Absolutely fantastic gig though and well worth freezing for.
What year was the concert? Saw them tons of times when at Glasgow Uni, then emigrated, then alas no more :-(

Scotland was defended at the borders against England not in the Highlands dick head .
