@ 10:29 Do you see that small black component that you were holding, it looks a bit like a heatsink, do you know what that is? Is that component required for a spark? I can't find the name of that anywhere.

That's the rectifier/voltage regulator! It's called "SILICON ASSY." in this diagram ( www.cmsnl.com/honda-xl125s-1981-b-canadakph_model20113/partslist/F__2500.html#.X8J7os1KhjE ), and searching google for "honda 31700385000" returns all kinds of results for the rectifier. It is responsible for taking the AC power generated by the engine and converting it to DC to power the lights and what not, and also to ensure that the voltage doesn't exceed what is nominal for the bike. There are tons of results on ebay as well when searching "honda 31700385000", and the prices are good!

@@blastworks It's not even listed on the UK version on cmsnl, only the "regulator comp" is, (31600428003) very strange. So, do I need the regulator comp or the silicon assy or both to get a spark? I'm trying to eliminate which of my components is not working or what I'm missing because I still can't get a spark.

I'm pretty sure they are one in the same. If you don't have one, you are going to need one.

Hey Stefan! I'm assuming you are referring to the spark advancer assembly. Keep in mind, the motor in my bike is from a 1980 XL185, but you can see the part number for it here: www.cmsnl.com/honda-xl185s-1980-a-canada_model50268/advancer-spark_30220427154/

@@blastworks I want to ask You one more thing, i have Honda Xl125r and i dont know how to wire the alternator eith other wires. I have 4 wires from alternator and that wires are almost black(yellow, pink and other two i cant see what colour is). And that four i have to connect with 5 wires on the frame but on the frame i have wires with colour: black-red ; yellow ; pink ; green-red and white. I dont know how to connect that wires, so i hope maybe You know. And one more thing, do i need battery to get spark on spark plug?
Ps: Sorry for my bad English.

@@СтефанЈовановић-ъ3н You can get lots of results with Google for the wiring diagram!
      www.google.com/search?q=honda+xl125r+wiring+diagram&oq=xl125r+wiring+&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0i22i30.8952j0j4&client=ms-android-google&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
As for spark, no battery required! Look at the first couple videos from my restoration series and you can see the motor running on a test stand with just the bare minimum hooked up!
