A friend on mine was having the same problems, until his wife instead of double clicking on the icon, right clicked on the icon and then selected open or run as administrator
Just bought a dual kit, one unit did the firmware update ok and I tried the other for quite a few times, tried different USB slots, connecting the unit before and after starting Cardo Updater and still the update failed halfway through. Did a google search and some recommended changing the cable so I did this, cable was off my sat-nav and hey presto, it updated first time.
I am having the same issue. Units wont turn on or reset after giving me the error in Cardo update. Yours also wouldn't turn on after the error from what I have seen , but you say you got it to update and work again. Just checking that that is the case and I will keep trying. I have contacted cardo and the seller but not recieved a reply as yet. Thanks for any further advice, I know it has been a while since you had the issue.
@@nibbit1969 like I show in both of my videos it was a royal pain. After 4 different pc finally got it to work on an older crappy laptop. But it is a nice unit once working. Voice is the clearest of heard.
@@BeLow-NY I just installed the latest version of windows 10. And gues what? it works now!!!! It seems that the usb connection has old drivers and don't see the cardo and phones. With this latest update everything works again.
I have been trying to update my freecom 4+ for almost a year now. I have reset my windows laptop and every time it comes up with installation error, please reboot and try again. I paid 240 dollars for one unit and haven’t been able to update the stupid thing.
@@stevemattern4453 the update program they provide is a complete failure at best. I tried xp, win 8, win 10, chrome and linux. Win 10 before and after a format and reinstall of os. Daughter had an old chrome book loaded to the max and ready for the garbage can. Gave it a shot and it worked. A $300 piece of junk worked but a $4500 win 10 killer wouldn't.
Well, thanks for posting your video. Now I know I’m not the only one who has had a problem trying to update the firmware. I was getting so frustrated trying over and over again and still not able to get it done. This is ridiculous. I got my friend to buy one and I even bought a Buddy one myself. 1 year and I still haven’t got it. I’ll try some other computers then until I get it done. Thanks for the help on how you were able to get it done. Note I’ll stop trying in my laptop since it probably is never gonna work. Thanks for responding.

@@BeLow-NY I went to the shop where I bought it, and they installed the update. But still not working on my pc.

Can we still use voice commands on packtalk4 plus? I just updated my device to ver 3.6, after updating the voice commands were unoperational at all.
Thats a good question. I'm still using last year's software.

All I can say is keep trying different PC's until one works. It took many computers until I got it to work.
mine is not even connected to the app updater

I'm using chrome an mine won't update says it won't run the update program
I tried 3 different computers before I got lucky with the 4th. All I can say is try a different computer until you get it to work. Good luck.
