How fast they count combos and freq's its insane. I want to be on that level! I liked very much how they understand near to optimal strategy. Both spent thousands of hours in solvers/db. Ps. This is the best poker video i've seen in years. Very accurate analysis.
This is just amazing content. To be able to listen to you guys talk hands is unbelievable value. I hope that I can implement even 5% into my game. Thanks guys
Wow this was such a great video. Two of the best in the game breaking it down. Hope to be on your guys’ level one day. Thanks for all the content Ben. 👍🏻
I could watch you guys talk all day long! Thanks! We can see how good you two are for the quality of the discussion. Looking forward to the next one! Ben makes it very hard for other courses to bring more value than him, the man it's a machine
My god Ben you are surpassing yourself in every godamn video!! Really you are producing golden content and really you really offering people the opportunity to think about poker outside of the box and at last escape the basic what does he have and what is my hand thought process!! Well done once again! Keep cranking then out!!
Hey could someone explain to me why KJ is a “snapfold” in the hand at 32:30? I honestly would have never even considered folding a top pair on the turn like that. How much does the pot being multiway affect this decision? Also why are we calling a 6bb bet on the flop to fold on the turn when we do actually hit one of our outs? Couldn’t he technically even be value betting KJ himself?
Tim Haug I was wondering the same thing. It’s interesting that we would fold the turn after improving to TP2K with a gut shot, even if V’s few combos of 87s got there. What should Vs large bet-sizing range be OTF so that we should check-call, but fold a J turn? Are we also folding a K turn, since QJ gets there (if QJo is a flat pre and big flop bet, then there are way more combos we lose to on turn K than J, no? Especially if V also bets KT OTF). So, what are we hoping for on turn after calling flop?
for the K2s hand, is there a reason we are not bringing up the potential bluff combos from villain of low pocket pairs? 44-88 (30 combos) that he chooses to bet small on flop with? he could easily be overbluffing river with those pairs if he is a 'little out of line' like you mentioned on river here. Which would make check calling pretty good with our hand.
Yeah I watched the video..., and then made the comment. I wasn't looking for some1 to regurgitate the video back to me. The comment didn't address my point at all, it just said "Jx better " with no consideration for the comment I made or how considering the additional ranges I mentioned could impact the decision at all and why.
Great video. Very interesting and eye opener. Although, may I say that on the pocket 44 hand, that was one of the first hands I thought about on the flop because that's the kind of hand I would have liked to see a flop with and then try to get the most value against some of the monster hands utg would open with. So see sometimes some basic thinking works too ;) Thxs a lot for the content !!!
Hey Ben why dont u start a microstakes challenge on pokerstars starting with a small BR and building it up all the way to show that its still possible?
Hey Ernst ! Building a BR from microstakes takes a lot of time ( need to play a big volume of mtts ) and I'm pretty sure Ben is having a pretty busy schedule ! Though, it's definitely possible for anyone with the right mindset/skills/method and time, to grind up the stakes. The real question is : " is there enough people punting off their stacks and being really bad at poker at micro limits in 2019 ?", well, the answer is " definitely yes" bro :). Not so long ago, Henri "Buehlero" Buehler went from $100 in 2016 to his actual BR ( playing $120 ABI on a daily basis) in a bit more than 3 years. Wish u the best ! GL on the felts !
First thanks for an awesome video. Two of the best talking hands is really interesting and appreciated. I have a question of the last hand. You mentioned that a good opponent will barrel AK on turn as well. What size should you choose with AK in the 30bb pot on turn?
great content as usual @RaiseYourEdge , thanks for sharing this with us, pleasure watching two of the best in the field discussing hands... on the KJo hand what do you think of check-shoving river since we have more Qx than villain in this spot and with what frequency (if any).
28:55 Sorry I just came up so late today after I know how PADS is a magnificent player and would love to take a lesson. I am curious why you guys think JQ is very unlikely, after you guys both agree JQ is not bluffing turn, while JQ do has some checking freq.?
w/ the ATs isn't the turn bet bad because our blockers mean we cant shove brick rivers and majority of his range that we are targeting is calling turn to fold river? seems to me we only want to bluff hands on the turn that can follow through good rivers, betting turn to giveup river seems bad vs his range
so if the 65s is a good bluff but is just a matter of frequency to not make you able to bluffcatch too profitably, are you implying that vilain could use a tool to help him get his frequencies in line? like let's say... a randomizer maybe?
It is all about the counter strategy. If villain doesnt react according to GTO, you should pick the hands that gain the highest EV againstvillains strat. Also, they all have very similar EVs in 3betting and all their benefits and disadvantages. I wouldnt mind 3betting low offsuited Ax or middling Kx either.
@Raise Your Edge 5:50 Actually, when we go big or huge there. there is no difference between 7x and 9x, so I don't understand why u thinking 7x fold and some 9x calls. 35:50 AJo isn't a fold? And not 4bet too, my calculation says we mostly 4bet AxS and some of AQo. P.S. But ofc, i can be totally wrong
you really think people are betting 2 pairs by the river on the ATcc hand ? you ain't playing the same games as me. we losing tons of value by not betting the flush, everyone checks back 2 pairs.
Insane value to see 2 of the best discuss hands! Thank you!
You can say that again!

BCB line is under bluffed in 3b pots yes although there is an exception on 4 flush boards, I believe those are overbluffed
27:10 INTERESTING :)
From fold on his CB on turn to INTERSTING on river :D Patrick i honestly wish you all best in every way !
