In this video, I test the 4k footage on the GoPro Hero 8 without the Fish Eye field of view. This of view (FOV) without the fish-eye view is called Linear. Linear mode is much like a regular camera and takes off the warping associated with Super-Wide angle lenses.
This test of the GoPro Hero 8 is shot using the camera in the car, vlogging, and walking through the forest. I hope you like it!

Why would you get flickers if you use 30 or 60 FPS?

I stumbled across your videos looking for a ring light review and I am glad I did. I am planning on using the GoPro as a facecam and I believe it will work well with the 10" ringlight on your channel!
Keep up the videos, and I was wondering why everyone said you had a cool accent and I was confused because it sounded normal, before I realised you were also an Aussie like me!
I would like to see this again but with stabilization off, because it crops increasingly as you turn it up.

The gopro image stabilization is really good. I like that you can turn off the ultrawide stuff. Not a big fan of the fisheye look. I've always kind of ignored gopro style cameras because of that... Now I might have to rethink my next camera purchase. Mic sounded good to me. Is the mic gain adjustable? or would you blow it out if you were at a live event?
Even in linear mode, it is not 100% distortion-free. I would say it corrects at about 90%. But it is a great choice as its only 299$.
Can someone please tell me how to remove the fisheye effect from the HERO 8 without any after effects (i.e. GoPro Studio, Premier Pro, etc) because I do not have access to any of those apps. I was hoping there would just be a setting within the GoPro Hero 8 itself but I cannot seem to find anything. HELP :(

Great video! Do you have experience with removing the fisheye in post too? Because I'm torn between the Hero 7 and 8 -
Since the hero 7 has no linear mode in 4k, I was wondering if the 8's linear mode does give an advantage in quality compared to removing the fisheye "manually" with Premiere Pro etc.
Hi mate. I think the advantage is you'll probably spend far less time in editing but the image quality probably won't be that different between the 7 and 8. If it's a quick process for you in Premiere then it should be all good. The other difference (I think) is that the GPH8 has better stabilisation as well.
How I turn off the fisheye on my GoPro 8?
You need to select Linear field of view. Click the W on the main screen and slide it down.
The first minute and a half of Time Warp made me dizzy 🙁
