Hi,Jim! I want to learn slowly and correctly. I used to play violin as a child and could read music. I lost that ability quickly once I no longer played. I want to regain that ability and learn to apply it to the piano. As an elementary school student I was given the choice to play violin or violin or violin. I chose violin but my heart was never in it. I wanted to play piano. Now that the busy part of life has passed and I have time to commit to this lifelong desire, I want to do it correctly. My husband says that I’m a technical learner in all things. Maybe that makes me not so creative but there is a place for someone like me and I’m going to find it. Hopefully, it’s with you, Jim. So here I go!
Hello and happy new year, Christina! It sounds like you had a pretty high dosage of violin during elementary school. Thank you for checking in and saying hello! I'm going to be cleaning up my UA-cam channel and creating better playlist. which should help you. I would offer my piano foundation course, but it sounds like you might understand treble clef well and basic rhythms? Stay in touch and feel free to email me directly as some learners prefer that.
I forgot to mention you could enjoy and check the free part of the course. Honestly, you saying you want to learn slowly and correctly is what every teacher wishes for! -Jim p.s. here's the link: grassrootspiano.mykajabi.com/offers/Ahx4gQ6o/checkout
@@grassrootspiano Going on... love the small milestones i reach with every song i can read the sheet music and play with both hands.. thanks for your efforts with your constant push thru your videos.
A full-size keyboard has 88 weighted keys. The reason for a better keyboard is better piano sound & action. The reason why people want cheap keyboards mainly because they don't know if they're going to be playing piano after a year. They try it to see if piano is for them. I know somebody who acquired an upright piano from a lady who was moving. He lives in a small apartment so the piano took up 1 corner of the room. People who take lessons for a few years the cost would add up to thousands of dollars so buying a good instrument is a small part of the cost. The fastest way to learn piano with just "4 chords" came from Stephen Ridley who is behind the Ridley Method He uses his piano tutorials to funnel money into the Church of Scientology.
I have been with my teacher for a year, I am really struggling to get hands and brain to work together at the same time. Reading notes I am mostly fine on and I feel really stupid in my lessons . Can you offer any tips ? I am 57

I didn't know about Stephen and making money to fund a church
I've never found a weighted 61 key keyboard. Any suggestions?
@@marieladomingo6068 I have a very old one at school, maybe Roland does not make it anymore?
Yes, get a decent 88 key. It's worth it if you use it.
