bro I am from India and I am a singer also. I wanna add some sort of distortion just like the song From the inside of Linkin park. I can hit that high note but with clean voice only. How to add that aggresion or raspiness or distortion? please make a tutorial on it. trying since last 3 years but couldn't figure out
@@WavesOfDMusic Start at the top of your chest voice, near (but just under) your falsetto. Then add volume and FIRM breath support (your core should tighten significantly in order to get the support necessary). You’ll naturally start getting distortion. cheers! 🥂
@@CosmicPBnJ DUDE, like gtort said. its in your head, youre in your own way. if you have the same throat autonomy as everyone else. then you can do it. allow yourself to fail to explore the nuance.
@@CosmicPBnJ I can't get the sounds I am looking for, and when I just force myself to create some of the distortion s of the voice I am looking for it feels like ripping my throat apart haha!. The lows lack power and a stable resonance. These extreme vocals feel to unreachable.
@@FrankTheDoomriderJohansen i kinda feel the same. I think my transition from beatboxing kinda has my vocals in a position that i emulate the sounds of deep vocal grunts and distortion.
I've heard rumors that Michael Jackson's natural voice was quite a bit lower than his speaking voice, so he could be relaxed in that regiater all the time. Not sure how true.
That might be true. But he lost his voice over the years and adapted his music style according to that. Here is a detailed vocal analysis: ua-cam.com/video/idU7hm5r1OA/v-deo.html
I’m learning if you practice everything as relaxed as you can you’ll be golden. I found myself doing to much with my body a lot in the past. Watching these videos has taught me quite a bit. Still got a lot of work to do though. 😂
Everyone wants to run before they walk I admit I was guilty of that early on. Practicing slowly bringing in the distortion instead of just trying to go for the full sprint right out the gate is the key. I still struggle going to higher notes even to this day but I can get my voice really low very easily. I may have to try what he is explaining but I have always struggled getting higher tones out of my voice.
Bro iv been practising for like 8 years and now that I have am understanding of it all I find you videos massively enhancing its actually mind blowing to me the I can mimic what your doing in your videos and I can wait to go somewhere far away from people to practice
This is my exact problem and u described it perfectly. I can't do that at all so distortion or high notes I've never been able to do. Makes sense why I can whisper scream or low scream but never at a actual loud level for most all my screams.
I've recently started working on getting my high notes back. It's been a struggle but I'm starting to see improvement. I spent almost 15 years not doing any vocals at all. And I'm having this exact same problem 😂
Hey man your video have helped me a lot I can now successfully do gutturals and false cords but even through your fry tutorial I can’t seem to get it right I can make the static type sound but then as soon as I try to go louder I lose that static type sound and it just turns into and odd scream any tips man
How to sing like a devil. Practice talking like a fairy lol I love it 😂❤️ He is the best teacher I’ve seen on UA-cam, I’m going to give this a crack so I’m prepared for when Falling In Reverse tour Australia 😝
Singing is like everything else, you have build the body in the area you want to use proficiently. If you’ve never bench pressed before, you can’t expect to go beat the world record on your first try., if you’ve never driven a car you probably won’t win a formula 1 race. Practice practice practice, and let your body build itself to handle what you want to perform. That’s been my understanding.
Shawn James - Number Of The Beast, i want to learn how to growl/scream like him with that crazy vibrato he has got, any way you could break down vibrato with distortion?
Plz one help i can sing until the mid octave but after that no more: my question is how could go higher than that my throat is getting very thick and my sound won’t come out any more I struggle much while singing plz help me
dont forget to adjust your breath compression when adding distortion. some people crank a lot more compression in when adding distortion when its not needed. this triggers yourValsalva maneuver as well which increases your blood preassure a ton. which increases tension.
@@TheMookie1590I can only add distortion at very high volume - singing in let's say something similar to Bruce Dickinson's style. At lower parta of the voice it's impossible for me and also when singing at lower volume it just never happens
Doesn't work for me and makes no sense, the guy should work on mix before, then....add distorsion! You are just suggesting to copy your weird sounds, it works for you, confuses many others
it works for people that are mimics, he cant teach everyone. and why work on mix first? hes saying to simply talk in your falsetto to get used to it, that is literally foundational, then you mix.

I don't sing, I just watch these videos to appreciate the amount of control you have over your voice and how well you can portray how you get there.

A lot of singers talk in a higher resgister this way

Awesome this is M. Shadows city of evil's distorted falsetto
Epic
I feel like I can put it on top of the voice or under it if that makes sense o-o
And people say metal singin sounds like vomiting. There is too much work behind it 🤘
Well this just made me test myself and realize I can fry scream in C6/C6#
screw that, c7
In other words, make sure you have a well-connected, tension-free head voice first
How do I metal scream 😊
Lol... the last 25% of video, dude sounds like 'Zebras in America'

There's also just a biological upper limit.
For sure, not everyone is going to reach the highest of high notes but “high” is relative to everyone’s vocal range and voice type!
when you hit your upper limit and can fry scream in your whistle register to sound like a banshee making love to a pterodactyl.
