@@trentmckenzie343 they've been doing WAY better than some companies... they still also have to think about their business, they can't just say fuck it and start making the rally cars we all want them to make. the gr corolla and yaris making 300+ hp from a 1.6l turbo 3 cylinder is an insane achievement on toyota's end.

Not to mention manual tacomas are almost impossible to find. And your other two arguments are moot as well. One, Civic is a Honda not a Toyota in case you didn’t know. We’re talking about Toyota. Two, Supra, again is over 60 grand. And it’s not a Toyota either.

Toyota just announced their new tacomas will no longer come with by far the most reliable engines ever made and instead will be replaced by hybrid turbo 4 cylinders. They have completely removed all economical terms of getting ANYTHING in a manual transmission, so now if you want a manual you have to spend upwards of 35-40 thousand dollars, if you can even find one in that price range (obviously speaking about the GR86, the Supra and GR Corolla are just out of the question unless you feel like buying a BMW or a 70 thousand dollar Corolla). So no, I really don’t think they have been doing any better.
Honda is doing the Lord’s work meanwhile Toyota is becoming more and more Americanized by the second and it’s killing the one thing that Toyota was named for.
GM turbo 3 cylinder = Scary proposition. Toyota turbo 3 cylinder = Sign me up.😂😂

Yes, automatics are more convenient and easy to learn. My point is that if you first learn to drive on a manual transmission then you will learn to just generally be a better and more careful driver. Manual transmissions force you to slow down and focus, and not just blaze out in front of whatever traffic you please without a care in the world and cut people off and run red lights.
Automatic transmissions are more complex and thus more expensive to make. It would only make sense that manufacturers would charge a premium for them. Not much, only around a thousand dollars or so. But the more important thing is that it would allow for enthusiasts to have a much wider range of general vehicles to choose from, instead of forcing them to save up for 10 years to get a car that may/may not even exist by the time said person can afford it.
It makes me happy just knowing cars like this and the Type-R exists. They're both truly brilliant but also couldn't more different.
If only dealers weren't making this attainable car unattainable for people...completely ruins the whole purpose of it.
