Hope you enjoy! I tried picking a photo that I can show as many tips as possible. Let me know if there's any other editing video you'd like to see. Happy Birding! Check out my last video here: ua-cam.com/video/k6fbLTLUMiI/v-deo.html
Straight to the point, no fluff and constantly flowing through the progression of the edit. I'm going to have to go back and rewatch several times because this was jam packed with so much great information. Please do more of these, even if its the same tips but on other images because there's so much to learn. Thank you!
@@StefanoIaniro Sure we are Stefano! Thanks for the great effort, and honestly I prefer a little lower tempo when it comes to this kindda videos, specially while following the mouse pointer's fast movements is not that easy on a phone display to see where you making the adjustments.
Keyboard shortcuts mentioned in the video: - O : change grid overlay - Shift + O : change orientation - J : show highlights/shadows - L : isolate image - \ : before/after - K : adjustment brush - Shift + M : radial filter Thank you for the video it was really instructive!
I usually use photoshop via lightroom to sharpen etc, however your method is excellent and allows you to stay within the Lightroom software. Very informative video, thank you.
Stefano, another great video, packed with very useful and practical info! I have been using LR for years, but you offered some new tricks I never used. Saved to my bird photography playlist. Thank you!
I finally pulled the trigger and have decided to try Lightroom after watching this. I started this year and have been using Rawtherapee but this looks so much more intuitive and straightforward to use. Gonna be referencing this video a lot, that's for sure.
Hey! Nice and smooth. Great. May I suggest a video / review on the DeNoiseAI and ShapernAI from Topaz Labs that you mentioned on this video. I see many use them, but I’ve always been reluctant... well, it would be nice to know you opinion. Best!
No problem! I intend to do a longer video where I go through everything in more detail and take my time with the edit. For this vid, I just wanted to do a quick overview with a lot of tips 🙂
Stefano, loved this video but I would appreciate a more slowly, controlled video on the subjects that you highlighted. These tips are the things that make or break our images and watching this, while absolutely fantastic content, was trying to watch passengers in a train as it went speeding by! Any chance that you could do a more in-depth video on localized adjustments? Thanks for taking the time. Bruce, Australia.
I've seen people speak about "steel eye" on birds, and there's supposed to be a fix for that. A quick explanation and a short how to oughta clear it up neat. :)
Yeah, steel eye will happen when a flash is mounted on the same focal plane as the lens. I don't use flash for my bird photography so I've never encountered the issue or had to fix it!
Hello i enjoy your explanation and really helps me with my birding. I am still struggling with those overlays and the other shortcuts explained which is different in Lightroom itself can you please help me with shortcuts on just lightroom! I use a mac book
I prefer to use Topaz, but I use a slightly different workflow since I rather use their plug-ins through Photoshop. What I do is export my photo from Lightroom to Photoshop. Then, I'll duplicate my photo layer and apply either the denoise ai or sharpen ai. After that I usually reduce the opacity of the layer between 20-40%. I find using these plug-ins at 100% a little overpowering. Having an image completely devoid of noise always looks weird to me!
Great tips but I wish the information was given a bit slower. As someone just getting to grips with lightroom and photoshop I find i get a bit lost as to where each tool is.
Question from a newbie: I would like to take videos of birds in my backyard similar to this example on UA-cam: ( ua-cam.com/video/xbs7FT7dXYc/v-deo.html ) where the camera is stationary on a tripod and pointed at one spot while recording birds landing and eating food ( not flying in the air ). I have am considering buying a Sony A7Siii and a Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS Super Telephoto Zoom Lens but don't know if that is the best option. I am concerned the SonyA7Siii does not have enough pixels and I am concerned the Sony FE 200-600mm will not work well at dawn or dusk which I read is a problem with that lens. Do you have any advice on which camera and lens to buy to take bird the type of bird videos I want to capture ? Thank you.
Hope you enjoy! I tried picking a photo that I can show as many tips as possible. Let me know if there's any other editing video you'd like to see. Happy Birding!

You can ravage my wife, simply for leaving this comment
Watching the masking option thinking to myself “I’ve 1000 photos to re-edit” 🙈
Hahaha, sorry 😅
This video is so helpful! I would love to see more of your bird editing tips and tricks!
Me too !!
This was great. I never knew about the masking slider for sharpening. I'll definitely use that more often
Excellent demonstration! I’m glad you kept the pace moving and hit on so many little adjustments. Great job!
Just summarized all the recommendations in a page... Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Crazy how similar your edits for birds were to my landscape edits. I did still grabbed a tip out of here. That sharpening bit was clutch.
...and though I knew Lightroom pretty well. WOW. Such great explanation of some serious useful tips. I'll be referencing back to this video OFTEN.
Happy to help! Thank you 🙂
I just started following your channel last week and I must say I've learned a lot. This video will also help. Thanks for sharing.

This is just what I needed! My lens rental just came and I'm going out to take some photos. I'm excited to edit them now!
Yay! Which lens did you rent? Hope you get some great shots!
@@StefanoIaniro I rented a 200mm f/2.8 Canon lens! Thank you!!

I’m primarily a landscape photographer and your tips were super useful - I love the information density of this video. Keep up the great work !!
Thank you so much!
Damn, that auto-masking tip for the brush was incredible! can't believe I didn't notice it :) Thanks for sharing!
Using alt before bringing up sharpening to localize its effect was an eye-opener...thanks for these great tips!

I'm somewhat new to Lightroom and learned some valuable tips here. Like the pace.

Hi! Bring on more LrC editing videos! Love them!
I used your tips and edited m photograph of a yellow hammer with very satisfying results :) thank you!
Holding CTRL lets you switch between Auto Mask or not. Very handy! Nice photo.
My favorite tutorial of all time you know how to teach things I'd love to see more of this kind of content :)

Very well done Stefano! You have a talent in explaining things easy! As a native swiss geman speaker that was pretty easy to follow. Cheers Mate!
I'm happy to hear that! Thanks for letting me know 🙂
Hi Stefano thanks for this video. It would be really great to see more of your editing processes on LR etc. Thanks again and stay well.
God that’s magnificent! Now I just need to get Lightroom and a camera other than my iPhone to start applying all the tips I’ve learned from you!

Great video! What version of lightroom is this? I signed up for the photographer subscription and I don't have the same options such as auto mask ing
Amazing tips! Would you recommend AI programs (Topaz...) or Lightroom for sharpening and noise reduction?
Thanks :)

How would you compare your result to simply using "auto"?
is the brush feature in Lightroom only for premium?
Do another vid on turkey vultures
Every tutorial i have watched not one so far as told you how to save your work and which tab to pess , i suppose it just magically saves its self
Hi what editing app do you use please?
Is this can be done in 2021 version
It was very interesting although I wish that you had gone a little slower. 😊❤😊
Great tips but I wish the information was given a bit slower. As someone just getting to grips with lightroom and photoshop I find i get a bit lost as to where each tool is.
That moment when you realize your own Lightroom Classic doesn't have a texture bar and no Hue selector in the Brush tool.
Great learning. Learned a lot. But request you to go slow while narrating and doing Lr adjustments. Unable to catch up with your fastness. Thank you.
It's obvious I am not using Lr to it's full potential
