I agree with GotDave? regarding the benefit of a speed loader. At any given hunt I have 3 -5 magazines and have yet to run into a situation when I needed to fill a magazine instantly to keep going. There is no time savings at all with this system. Whether I load a magazine or speed loader, it still takes the same amount of time. Only with a speed loader I spend money to store pellets prior to using them. Here is the real kicker, when I go to a dairy and shoot 100 plus shots at a time, the loaders are good for one time. I end up loading the magazines anyway.
Yeah. Why the fuck would I ‘pre-load’ a ‘speed loader’ the night before when I could just fucking load a magazine? Is there a price difference or some good reason to buy another useless step in loading and unloading. These airgun people need a fucking clue.
I really don't see the benefit, if one of those speed loaders is 25 bucks, but a mag for my Wildcat MKIII is only 50? ...I'd rather spend twice the money & just load up mags! We've already invested thousands of dollars in our gun & scope & all the other crap like pumps & air tanks! ...& you're gonna sweat over buying a few extra mags? Whooh! ...Come on man! :D
@@UpNorthAirGunner ...that's a good point! That makes the cost more worth it! And I know what you mean about going through mags! ...ever since I got my Wildcat I've been going through pellets like crazy with that gun! The side lever cocking makes it easy for me to empty a mag without realizing how many shot I've taken! Keep up the great vids! Peace!
I see the concept, but at the end of the day you still have to individual load one pellet at a time, whether it's in the magazine or the speed loader, I got the stud mag loader, now that is the way to go, why more effective.
Sorry but I don't see the benifit. You are still loading the speed loader. When you can pour them in anyhow anywhere and not worry about orientation that's different
Excellent video, these are absolute necessities. I'm developing a pre-load speed loader, now. It's a simple tube that you load the speed loader from, and you can actually do it while having a poo when your time would be wasted otherwise. Now it'll be a simple and easy 4 step process, load the pre-loader, load the speed loader, load the mag, put mag into FX, done.
what is needed, is pellet sorting device that can take a tin of pellets and drop them into a loader/magazine system in the correct orientation. That would actually "speed load" a magazine. This should ne named a convenient on the fly magazine loader, there is no "speed" as you are doing the same process just in 2 steps.
Me here waiting for when the quiet “no rattle” magazine lids or magazines are invented by someone, I tried a circular sliver of tape on the inside which reduced the rattling a little bit, I spot and stalk hunt, great creation on the speed loader!
@@UpNorthAirGunner I’m well aware of how much FACTORY FX mags cost. I have several. In reply to your reply I will also say there are SEVERAL other magazine options on the market not made by FX that are way more affordable and I don’t have to load a speed loader then load that into my mags. I have several mags made by the “iguana hunter” which he also makes impact mags that cost less than half of what an FX mag costs. Just sayin.
Pyramyd Air has a magazine for the Dreamline / Crown for the same price. $24.00 the top comes off and you can save a step. 😎👍. I picked up 3 and they work great. Thank you for the video.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! , take a couple of those with you when hunting or just plinking and your set for a day of fun, a couple of speed loaders, a couple of extra mag`s all day shooting fun, one great idea
Don't get me wrong I love my field pro speed loaders but the elimination of the spinning pellet is a very very nice touch although I still prefer the twist lock style lid over the snap style. Wen they make it with the twist lid I'll take 2x to start with in .22 for the FX-Impact to compete or replace my current field pro's. 🥃cheers🍻
I saw a video on the stud loader which is excellent in terms of design but I prefer the FX pellet loader aesthetically with the plexiglass. The stud product aligns the studs and pellets perfectly. Are there any other Alternatives compared to the stud finder that looks like the original FX loader?
Well not really. You have to reload a magazine anyway, so you are just doing it ahead of time. Think of it like buying a magazine for the 1/3 or the price.
Just purchased an fx impact Mark II looking for some advice on which loader I should purchase I don't like the stud brand aesthetically even though it's a very good loader. I was told that FX has improved their loaders for Slugs but there are also aftermarket ones once around the same price what's your opinion?
That does reload a magazine faster but it does not load the magazine loader faster. The example you gave of your target running off is a bad example. Just pop in an already loaded spare magazine. Everyone should carry two magazines with them in case one fails. This is only faster to reload a depleted magazine, no advantage to a spare magazine. I will pass.
Have you seen how insanely expensive FX magazines are? These speed loaders are $20-$25 where magazines are $70 to over $100! The amount of time is roughly the same to load but 1/3 of the cost. I’d rather spend that money on ammo vs.a thing to hold ammo.
Why not just spend the money on a new mag and load it the night before ? Either way, you're not saving any time. You still have to load the loader, LOL. I'm just playing devil's advocate. I mean, if you can afford an FX in the first place, a second mag ain't no thang. Just saying...
You are correct that loading a magazine and loading this speed loader is basically the same amount of time spent, but the biggest benefit is the cost. FX Impact MKII magazines cost $70 where these cost $25. If you shoot as much as I do, I like having 4-5 magazines ready to go. So I could spend $100 on 4 of these speed loaders and just use the magazine the gun came with vs. spending $280 on buying 4 more magazines. I personally vote for using all that extra money and buy more ammo vs. things to hold the ammo. Hope that makes more sense now.
