I joined when I was 14, 2 months before I was 15 and I have had fun since and enjoyed helping out, I’m now 16 and I have my own pager now and are running fire calls to help the community when they need

In Germany this is normal. I‘m 17 and a Volunteer Firefighter since a Year Now. 🚒🤝😎

Here in the US that's considered a junior member in most departments. It's an insurance liability thing; most juniors aren't allowed to go interior and in some departments they aren't allowed to directly assist at all apart from auxiliary duties such as message running or refilling SCBA bottles. Her department is putting ALOT of trust in her, but she's definitely up to the challenge.
